Starwars4J Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Here we can share information about the places we're from. Now I don't mean nation, or state. I mean the town/village/city that we were born in, or live in currently. For me, they're one in the same. Good old Rockville Centre Quote
simonwillems Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 My place of birth is a small village called Warnsveld, it is near the city of Zutphen (try to pronounce that, my fellow Eurobrickers from England and America *skull* ). I grew up in Zutphen in the Eastern part of the Netherlands, and recently I moved to the most beautiful city of all: Amsterdam, because my university is located there. I live with three flatmates in a very small appartment, but it's nice and cosy... De Groeten! Quote
Ras 74 Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Nice Idea! I live in Sweden in a town called Gothenburg (G Quote
EXO-CHAMP Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Not much info on my city, but still: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viborg A little history for those who speak danish: http://www.viborghistorie.dk/ note: Viborg was actually the capital of Denmark a long time ago. Quote
Hobbes Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 I grew up in Villach before I moved to Vienna 6 years ago. Mostly because mountains everywhere got boring after 28 years... or maybe it was the job... My family still lives in Villach and I visit once or twice a year, but not more. If I miss something it's probably watching my hometown hockey team. There's hockey in Vienna, too, but that's... different... more important now are the many toystores and three TRUs :-) Although we're thinking of moving a bit outside of Vienna (if we find a decently priced house, that is - ha ha) there's no rush since for the past few years Vienna has been among the top 4 cities in the Worldwide Quality of Living Survey (first in the EU). So we're quite happy here at the moment *sweet* Quote

Khorne Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Well, I grew up (and still live) in Rumbeke, it's a very small town close to Roeselare. It's in West-Vlaanderen (West-Flanders). It's so small, that I don't think Wikipedia even has a page about it. Anyway, since Roeselare and Rumbeke and practicly one place, here's the website of Roeselare: www.roeselare.be. We speak a nice dialect called West-Vlams (West-Flemish :-P ). That's about it, I guess :-/ . Cool topic *y* . EDIT: Looks like there IS a page of Rumbeke and the page of Roeselare with a picture of the 'castle' of Rumbeke 8- Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted December 15, 2006 Eurobricks Emperor Posted December 15, 2006 I live in a small village called Nijlen. It is located in Flanders (Belgium) in the middle of nowhere, about 20km from Antwerp and 60km from Brussels. Next year I will be building a new house in my town (currently I still live with my parants). This is the info I found on wikipedia: Nijlen is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality comprises the towns of Bevel, Kessel and Nijlen proper. On January 1, 2006 Nijlen had a total population of 20,864. The total area is 39.09 km Quote
Kikuichimonji Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 You can see where I live right under my picture :-D And since I've lived there my entire life and nobody but the Dutch (and German, I suppose) users will know where that is, there's not much else to say either. I might move out soon though since I have to travel 45 minutes daily to get to my University... Quote
Jipay Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 My town is Nancy. Link in wiki (for hobbes). It's quite close to germany and I really enjoy living there. Nothing like home they say :-) Quote
Hobbes Posted December 15, 2006 Posted December 15, 2006 Hey, I don't mind Wikipedia, I like it. I just found it funny that SW4J mentioned (jokingly or not) that to him Wikipedia isn't a reliable source for information and then starts a thread that ends in tons of Wikipedia links :-) Quote
