While I don't own any Islanders sets, I really like how they look and do hope that they make an appearance in the new Pirates line sometime.

Yes. That would be good. I don't know how they would look, but that would be good. Maybe a large cave hide out set?

I put "They're alright", because i have mixed views.

In terms of design, i love them! I cant think of a single one which was badly designed, and the attention to detail was superb.

However, i do feel that they made our pirates too land-based, as they rather sqeezed out the soldiers for a few years, and thus our pirates were all running around dry land being chased by islanders, as there werent really any ships to attack at sea.

I would like to see the islanders reappear, but i think its essential for the pirate theme that a soldiers and possibly merchant ship are brought out first, to maintain a bias towards sea-fairing pirates over land ones.

Just my two copper.

Although I have no Islander set in my collection, I like them. Small islands are scattered across the Caribbean and so are the Islanders. I prefer pirates or imperials but the islanders are a nice addition to the pirate themes.

I voted that I loved them simply out of sentimentality. The Islander sets were some of the last ones I bought before entering my dark ages and selling all of my sets.

When I first saw the islander sets I thought they were a bit out of place in the pirate theme. They might be good side story kinda thing for poor Captain Ironhook and it takes a break from the good vs evil cliche which dominates too many Lego themes.

I for one like the islander sets because they have really cool figures (example: King Kahuka :kahuka: ! Also that I like it that TLC made a new lego faction, because the imperials weren't enough to stop the mighty pirates :pir-classic: !

I really love the 'Islander sets'!

They are such an awesome addition to the Pirate-World.

The best are the minifigures, with which you can build great 'Aztecs'-creations :pir-wink:

I love the islander's. I have a number of sets. I wish I had them all. I like them for the "unofficial" adventures that can be played out between the islander's and the pirates. The pirates certainly would want to get their grubby hands on the islander loot (as would the imperials) but also from the point of view that the pirates are often in my adventures treaspassing on their remote lands for hidouts, repairs, supply raids, etc. Having them adds a complexity to your story...its not just pirates vs. soldiers all the time. The islander's also provide a different cultural and moral perspective. A soldiers might kill, wound, execute a pirate but would be less likely to say dine on one or feed one to a croc. I think I'll go buy some more....so remember they are terrible nobody else should go looking to buy any.

I like the Islanders a lot. They have detailed outfits and such. I already have the Island Cantarm? I believe it's called that.

I don't think that the islanders ruined the pirate series! If you ask me the armada troops that took the place of the (redcoat) imperial guards is when I was sad and disappointed about the pirate line, and that's when the line ended as well!
