rm8 Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 (edited) that color scheme is actually really cool looking we need more blue in the lego world! Surprised me how well it works offroad for its scale though its probably extremely light so the m motors don't sweat while pushing the model along. an a idea for wheels I could think of being more like the power pullers but at this scale these tires came to mind. Wheel 68.8 x 40 Balloon Large, with Black Tire 68.8 x 40 Balloon Large (2996 / 2995) I've used these on my little 4x4 pickup cause they looked cool and you could get a closer steering offset if your reversed them. though with this model that's probably not needed. I own this tires from 1994year 8858 set. They are much heavier than 68.8 tires from 8081 (modern analog of that old baloons) so it is better to use new baloons of this size or change gear reduction if younwant old one. daniele Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 I've built but I don't have the rechargeable battery box, and with the big one it doesn't climb Quote

T_Tank Posted July 31, 2012 Posted July 31, 2012 i'd love to build this but i'm gonna have to order 3 pfm motors since my 4 are intensely stuck in the middle of a few models >.>. Quote
Thelonious monk Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Of course i like it when somebOdy gets inspired my a moc i make but i am slightly annoyed that even though i post pictures of my original moc that inspired zbij's odea nobod replies to my post. I am not theilled to post any more pictures of mocs on this forum, since it doesn't bring anything anyway. Quote
AndroTech Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 ..... i am slightly annoyed that even though i post pictures of my original moc that inspired zblj's idea nobod replies to my post .... Maybe the ZBLJ's version of mini crawler has something, that other people appreciate, and comment on that .... and your's doesn't. Quote

But remember that I had posted a preliminary picture of a Work In Progress, and was in the process of motorizing it. After I posted pictures of the process I was working on the post was ignored completely. That does not motivate me to continue working on it let alone posting any of my progress I have made. It was my idea to make a mini rock crawler, if people want to make it, fine. if people want to create their own, fine. But don't ignore where the inspiration came from. Quote

I gave you credit for inspiration, but other than that I think our 2 crawlers are mechanically totally different. Anyway lets not turn this into griefing please. Quote

AndroTech Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 piss off with your useless comment ... nice language ... Anyway, like I said, maybe ZBLJ's version is better in so many ways than someone else's, so people comment on it. Quote
T_Tank Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 On topic Managed to scrounge through my 5 bins for enough parts to build the mini crawler body an gotta say.. it looks so dam cool >.<! I'll get some photos of it resting up over some tires. might as well take a pic of it next to my attempt at a compact crawler (not really that compact though) off topic I've done a motorized conversion to one of zbj's models but i gave him credit for making the base model i just figured a way to make it work with pf. Zbj wasn't upset me at all for doing this at all in fact a few times i asked him for suggestions on solving lil issues here an there. (still have that assembled btw zbj its just such a awesome little functional model!) Quote
Zerobricks Posted August 2, 2012 Author Posted August 2, 2012 Glad you managed to build it! Does it work good for you? I always love it when people like my stuff, it inspires me Quote
T_Tank Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 Glad you managed to build it! Does it work good for you? I always love it when people like my stuff, it inspires me Well it is possible to mount the mini crawler body on my compact chassi but the chassi is about 10% larger then yours so it doesn't quite fit right, actually the front an rear shock towers barely fit under the shell but it can fit on the body i'll get some photos up though. btw not to hijack but here is the brickself link to my compact crawler for you to check out zbj an anyone else curious. seeing yours zbj it really makes me want to try an rebuild it to be smaller. compact crawler Quote

Countdown Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 So if anyone wants to try build it, here you go. Mini 9398.lxf I would really like to build this. Can someone do a PDF sequence on that? I have a really old netbook and it can't open LDD nor SR3D. Is there a less demanding software that could open this kind of file? Thanks. Quote
Zerobricks Posted August 3, 2012 Author Posted August 3, 2012 (edited) Here you go: Until folder is public, just replace every next number manually, as in step1, step2, etc.... http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/zblj/Mini9398/LDDinstructions/step1.png Edited August 3, 2012 by Zblj Quote
tibivi Posted August 3, 2012 Posted August 3, 2012 I build your mini crawler too and it's so cute Only mine is in yellow-grey. I will post pictures if anyone wants to see it. Good job Zblj Tibivi Quote
