Berry Syedow Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 I fully agree. Lego, please don't waste this occasion of great silver pointed visors in a cheap set! Plus, I want silver classic broadswords, they're the best swords Lego has ever made. They're simply perfect.Shakar After sifting through some threads I came upon THIS picture, which I also posted on "classic-castle.com". Now we can all release a collective sigh of relief. :'-) Quote
Pepper Roni Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 I like them, I've always hoped for some kind of Grim Reaper type set and here it is!! *skull* *skull* Quote
Optimax X Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 Ah, just seen the new skellies, clear picture, so it's goodbye floppy arms! That has made me happy, i'll be defiently sure to pick up at least a couple of these sets this year. Quote
BearHeart Posted February 17, 2007 Author Posted February 17, 2007 Anyone notice the Bionicle piece on the Skeleton wagon?(on the front of it) |-/ *n* Quote
Optimax X Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 Anyone notice the Bionicle piece on the Skeleton wagon?(on the front of it) |-/ *n* What, the chains? I think they look cool on it and good MOCing features. Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 This should have a story. Oh by the way, do you think this will continue in 2008? -ZotS Quote
Optimax X Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 This should have a story. Oh by the way, do you think this will continue in 2008?-ZotS The story for this theme- The evil wizard has captured the princess - can the knights rescue her or will the wizard's group of skeletons prevail and capture not only the princess, but the scene and then play out the battle with the introduction of a new play theme - LEGO Castle Maybe, if the theme is sucsessful. Echo Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 This should have a story.-ZotS No, it shouldn't. Storylines completely ruin non-Bionicle themes. Quote
Optimax X Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 Oh, ehlek's spine. That seems to be have used on alot of models for this year. :-/ Quote
phoinix Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 No, it shouldn't. Storylines completely ruin non-Bionicle themes. i totally agree with you. storylines limit the imagination! i hate storylines! even for exo-force! i mean what dont you get? the bad guys.....the good guys....play on! Quote

Yeah- i know what you mean, that story line really wrecked EF- the same thing happens again and again- they just keep having battles. In this case you have to ignor the rubbish story line and just creat one youreself with the sets you get- much more fun. Personally, i think none of them should have storylines appart from bionicle and maybe mars mission. Quote
BearHeart Posted February 18, 2007 Author Posted February 18, 2007 Oh, ehlek's spine. That seems to be have used on alot of models for this year. :-/ Yeah, thats the piece that I was talking about. Id have no problem with it if it was made of hard plastic but its made out of a soft rubbery material. |-/. Thats a big letdown, Im definately gonna have to MOC that out when I get that set. Quote
Optimax X Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Well it's hardly a "bumper" if it's rubber is it. :-P I'm not sorry worried about that if i got that set, it's quite impressive. Quote
Shakar Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 After sifting through some threads I came upon THIS picture, which I also posted on "classic-castle.com". Now we can all release a collective sigh of relief. :'-)That is your post on CC, right?Hey, folks. I managed to find a picture showing the knight with the pointed visor mistakenly placed next to the evil fortress. My apologies if this was already posted: LINK I'm also very pleased with how the new Castle Theme has turned out. I will most definitely buy many copies of the smaller sets. I just wish that the TLC Designers could get the castle structures right on a more consistent basis. Still, this isn't too bad in comparison to the offerings of the lesser castles of our past.. So, if I understand correctly, the box is a prototype and the knight with the pointed visor has been "mistakenly placed next to the evil fortress"? If so, yay!Shakar Quote
Lord Admiral Helden Ravensdorn Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 On the topic of storylines, I must say my peace - Storylines in LEGO themes are, by themselves, NOT inherently evil. The way they should be done is the way they WERE done for most of the 90's, and even how Bionicle 2001 was done - The basic plot and characters are layed down and the scene set for you to play in. This is the kind of theme I like because I can then build on it. The kind of theme I dont like is current Bionicle: Quite literally everything has (poorly) been accounted for by GregF, and every little action of the Toa is now written out in the books. Its. Annoying. Anyhoo, just my 0.07. Quote
hewkii9 Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 The kind of theme I dont like is current Bionicle: Quite literally everything has (poorly) been accounted for by GregF, and every little action of the Toa is now written out in the books. Its. Annoying.Anyhoo, just my 0.07. I understand. Because, now, even the masks have personalities. And of course, the villains are PURE evil. That's right. some people who took over almost the entire known world will be whooped by a few widdle baby Toa with stick arms. Back on topic... I like that little weapon holder in 7009. I'm wondering if it's the same design as in Grand Tournament... I need a few better pics to be sure. And if we actually do get 2 skellie horses in Crossbow Attack....wewt. Quote
Optimax X Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 The skellie horses do look cool, but i am cocerned over them, if kids play with the roughly (I.E throwing them about, ramind the into each other) the skellie horse could brake because it is not as well as inforced as the proper horses. Of course i won't be doind that, but little kids, they may break easily, well not easily, but over time.... What do you think guys? Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Does any one know any of the action features for the castle? -ZotS Quote
Optimax X Posted February 18, 2007 Posted February 18, 2007 Does any one know any of the action features for the castle?-ZotS Which castle, there is a couple isn't there? Quote
dillthepill Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 This should have a story. Oh by the way, do you think this will continue in 2008?-ZotS I think the story is basically the skeletons want to rule. FIGHT!!!! Good thing too. Some storylines now are gettng too complicated. Oh, and I hope that this continues for another year or so. If a theme as horrible as Knights Kingdom went on for three years, I hope this goes on at least that long. I see your point about Exo-Force. Every comic just has to have a battle. They should take a break from that for an episode or two. That's what I like to do when I play with them. Also, Bionicle is probably the only one that needs a major storyline. I mean, themes should just have a location( Example, Exo-Force is now in the Golden City) and that's about it. Aquaraiders and Mars Mission both seem simple, they are fighting for treasure, Castle is simple, so is Batman and all that other stuff. Basically what I'm saying is LEGO is huge on story lines, which gets annoying. Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Yah, Exo-Force does get boring a bit, but I do find the robots rebel on humans intresting. This story is probably like this. A stupid wizard kidnaps the princess. King gets pissed, sends a army wizard sends skeletons. -ZotS Quote
Optimax X Posted February 19, 2007 Posted February 19, 2007 Well that's basically it ZOTS, that's the "official" statment from a toy website on an article about it, but as i say, it's a daft storyline that IMO killed of KK, so you'd think lego ought to be a bit careful with the storlines for the new themes. *sad* Quote
The Executive Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 These castle sets look great! I'm definitely getting the 3 smallest sets because, I just love skeletons! The knights look pretty cool too. I really can't stand the knights kingdom 1&2 sets they were horrible, colored knights were a bad idea. The last Castle sets I bought were the original Royal Knights back in 1995, IMO was the best castle sub theme ever. Quote
