Blackice200 Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 (edited) Nice review! I didn't pick this set up do to the piece count/ price ratio. Oddly, my local TRU has about a dozen of these on "clearance" for just $89.99... Crappy sale is crappy. Is that a reference to cinima sins? Edited July 28, 2014 by Blackice200 Quote
rollermonkey Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 No, more that the 'clearance' price is the same as the regular retail price. Weird seeing it right next to the new Cantina... Quote
BrickCommander Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 The sliding doors on the shown model are not correctly assembled - they are missing a layer of plates (see page 22 of booklet 1). That's why they fall out of the frame. Spare light gray 1x4 plates usually aren't ... well, spares ;) Quote
Brickdoctor Posted July 28, 2014 Posted July 28, 2014 No, more that the 'clearance' price is the same as the regular retail price. Considering that I think a lot of parents and grandparents who don't know that much about their kids' 'Legos' turn to TRU to buy toys from, it's rather smart. Just take of the so-called 'TRU tax,' say that it's on sale, and you were overcharging people enough originally that now the discount looks substantial. At least in my experience, all of my close relatives know that I'm a huge fan of LEGO, and a few of them spend a lot of time looking for sales. I cannot count the number of times I've had to say that a TRU sale on LEGO isn't actually a good deal. (Not that I don't appreciate the fact that they let me know.) Quote

That's actually a "good" clearance price for TRU. Heck the Sith Fury is on clearance at $99 by me... only $10 more than the normal MSRP. What a savings! Quote
