Bricktooth Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 I want to update my 'About Me' page to include my MOCs, and I want to link to them with a thumbnail that links to the topic. I looked it up in the Tutorials index, but I couldn't find anything about it (I want it to look like the links to the reviews in the review indexes). Could somebody help me with this? Quote
Fugazi Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 I don't know of a specific tutorial, but you can use one of these to resize your image to thumbnail size: How to resize a large pic - Lord of Pies How to crop, sharpen and resize images online - Legostein Then one of these to upload your thumbnail image to an image hosting service: How to upload images to Brickshelf Operating Flickr tutorial And finally this tutorial to create a clickable thumbnail image (note that it's written for Brickshelf users): Creating Clickable Thumbnails - Mister Phes Basically, once you have a thumbnail image of a suitable size ready you need to: - go to My Settings/Profile/Change About Me Page - use the Insert Image button and paste the URL of your image (assuming that you have uploaded it somewhere -- Brickshelf, Flickr, etc) - click on the thumbnail image that should have appeared to select it then use the Insert Link button (next to the Insert Image button) and paste the URL you want to link to (the address of your topic for instance) - save your changes and you're done! If you need more detailed help, just ask! Quote
Big Cam Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Just to add if you use flicker, one of the sizes they create is a thumbnail. Makes it really easy. Quote
Bricktooth Posted August 9, 2012 Author Posted August 9, 2012 (edited) After I've resized the pic to thumbnail size, how can I make it a link that leads to the MOC (I use Brickshelf)? EDIT: I think I've figured it out myself. Thanks for the help though! Edited August 9, 2012 by Bricktooth Quote

Big Cam Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 <A HREF="The URL of the site"><img src="The URL of the image"></ A> You don't need all the extra symbols you are using. Simply this [url=”thread URL"][img=thumbnail URL][/url] Gives you this. Quote
OneSnowTrooper Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 I know, one is HTML and the other BB code Quote
Big Cam Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 I know, one is HTML and the other BB code Since the board accepts it I was trying to make it as simple as possible. HTML is a little more complicated. Either works. Quote

Big Cam Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Just to make things clear, HTML does not work on EB. That is Rick. I prefer BB code so I've never tried, I didn't know it didn't work. I just meant he had the code portion right. Quote
