I must dig up this old topic, because my street has changed. A square has been added:

It has a station, now with an extra floor. On the other side of the square we find a barbershop, a café and the Town Hall, which also has got an extra floor.

In the street, next to the little church, we find the new tan and dark tan mayor's house. The dark red Belgian house is new as well.

Restaurant 'Le Parisien' is new to the street:

The tram now has overhead wiring on poles:

But the wedding at the Town Hall is still going on:

CHeck my flickr-account for more pictures of the old and new Steenstraat.

The Citroen Deux Chevaux and Smart Car are cute on the bricked street. (Now if they can just get rid of those rough cobblestones that make travel tough, that would make llikfe easier. But drats Beligum would lose much of its character without those early Roman style of huge cobblestones.)

The new town square is a lively addition. Is your table about to collapse from the horrendous weight of so many bricks?

Congratulations on a fine city street!

You truly are a terrific MOC'er, alois. I just saw one of your older post with the mayor's house. There you told, you just got of of your dark ages. It was in 2010. When looking at Steenstraat, it's hard to believe that you ever had a dark age

You really have an eye for architectural details. Your buildings are richly detailed, but the details never become instrusive, as they can on LEGO buildings.

I really like the trams. Just a shame, they don't stop right in front of the railway station

All in all, good you bumped this thread - it's always nice to see new developments in fellow Eurobrickers' layouts.

I LOVE your street design. Can you show some details as to how you built the street itself? This looks so much better than the LEGO road plates.

It consists of 16x32 baseplates (or alternatively 2 16x16 regular plates), with lots of 1x2 dark bluish grey tiles, resting on one side on the tram tracks and on the other side on 2x8 plates, which for one half, and with two extra layers of plates, are also the base for the baseplates of the buildings.

Your street is looking stunning as always!! I love the new buildings, particularly the tan and dark tan building, it looks fantastic!

I look forward to the next update, happy building
