The_Customizer Posted December 14, 2012 Posted December 14, 2012 Yep! Everything is ready to go. Let us continue on in my original path. Quote
Palathadric Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 Alrighty folks, now that we are all healed up, and we have gathered everything (Monk, you still get those 2 bones) let's us move on! I sniff at the two bones suspiciously trying to detect some scent of chicken. Quote
Flare Posted December 15, 2012 Author Posted December 15, 2012 (edited) Sorry for the pause, the next part will be up tomorrow Now! The party continues to follow Adam in the direction of Shelbric. Soon enough, they hit the road and continue to follow it. They come up to a slightly strange place. "WELCOME TO THE MARKETEER'S ASYLUM!!!!!1!!!" is shouted as the party comes near. Palathadric Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 "Somehow that skeleton in the corner reminds me of Adam," I whisper. "These people look to be selling gems, and consumables and the like. Methinks it would be a good idea to at least check what they have available. Granted, they look a bit insane, but...everyone deserves a chance...unless they're...you know..." Quote
The_Customizer Posted December 15, 2012 Posted December 15, 2012 "Greetings friends! What style of organization are you running here?" Quote
Flare Posted December 16, 2012 Author Posted December 16, 2012 (edited) Erdy is answered by the moustached man, apparently the leader of the group. "Hi there, stranger! My name is Grabian the Greedy... We are poor merchants, driven out of the marketplace of Shelbric by force. We each have our own reasons. Personally, I was too jealous of my brother Fabian's popularity and I started to try to steal his customers. Eventually he moved to sell in a different city and I was kicked out of Shelbric. But anyways, here we are happy. I sell magic potions of all kinds, if you are interested. Best prices you'll find, I'm sure! Haha! The one dancing on the table is Insane Albert, master uh blacksmith and that kind of stuff." He stops and bends over his table to Pretzel. Grabian whispers: "I think his goods are stolen" He winks. "But don't let that prevent you from checking out his wares. They do no good sitting here." He continues with his normal cheerful voice. "And the grouchy one over to the side is Almite Bob. Magical wares, gems, bones ( ), and he might even have a piece of mythril tucked away somewhere..." Noticing Pretzel giving odd looks towards the skeleton, he adds: "Don't worry about him, he's been dead for thirteen years! Ha! Ha! Ha! Dumb elf." "So, interested in seeing our wares?" Edited December 16, 2012 by Flare Quote
Palathadric Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 "Why is your place called an 'Asylum' and why is there a '1' in the midst of all the exclamation points?" I wonder aloud. "Furthermore, why do you wear your hair in such an unmanly manner. I would swear (if I did that sort of thing ) that if I saw you from the back I would assume that you were a woman. What's up with that? Also is it supposed to be a good thing that you have been dubbed "the Greedy." I don't see there being any way that it could be considered a complement?" Quote
Flare Posted December 16, 2012 Author Posted December 16, 2012 "WHAT EXCLAMATION POINTS!?!?!??! I DIDN'T KNOW THERE WERE ANY EXCLAMATION POINTS HEEEEEEEEEEERE!!!!!!!!1!!!!" Albert says frantically as he looks around in panic. *sigh* "Its an asylum because no where else wants us. Now, do you want to see any of our wares or not, son?" "Listen dude, I have the freedom to keep my hair however I want. Argue with my brother, he's the one who inspired me to be so fashionable anyways." Quote
Palathadric Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 Funny, I had the impression that we were going to the power trees first. Erdy takes hold of the map, pulls out some spare paint, and somewhat successfully paints in her course. Upon completion she explains it. "The blue shows where we will travel from our current location towards the power trees, the green, from the power trees to Shelbric, and lastly the pink from Shelbric back to the Doctor's house." Quote
Flare Posted December 16, 2012 Author Posted December 16, 2012 (edited) Funny, I had the impression that we were going to the power trees first. Stop causing me problems! You were following Adam He could've taken you back to Heroica Hall without you noticing, because you never asked him where he was taking you Anyways, you're not all of the way to Shelbric, so don't worry Why do you really care which place you go to first? Stop complaining and go and buy something! Edited December 16, 2012 by Flare Quote

I suppose looking at your wares couldn't hurt us, so I'm up for it. Even if we don't purchase anything immediately, we now no where to find you just in case, but I do think I could stock up on a few items. Perhaps buy a gem to stud my cross. I meant the exclamation points in your voice. They were interrupted by an odd '1'. Just saying. Quote

Flare Posted December 16, 2012 Author Posted December 16, 2012 About how many Mythril Shards do you have? *grunt* "I've only got one, elf girl. It was almost stolen by a no good alchemist, and I've no intention of just selling to anybody. 1000 gold is my price, unless you can prove yourself eligible to receive it for a lower price." Quote
Palathadric Posted December 16, 2012 Posted December 16, 2012 "Is this your 'shop' so to speak? As in, if we go and come back, will we be able to find you here again? My gold is a bit limited now, but if I go, collect more someplace, and come back can we expect to meet you here? The mythril shard, for instance, we would probably buy, but we don't have anywhere near the required sum of money. Erdy, perhaps, if you tell them why we will need it, they may give it to us...free?" ALMITE BOB'S I whisper to Adam, "Adam, do you know this man?" I turn to Erdy, "We may need to be careful what we say, I think this is the same "Almite Bob" whom the doctor and Adam talked about. I don't actually know how much we will want to reveal to him." "Furthermore, I suggest you purchase a couple of smelling salts, Erdy. They could be quite useful if it comes down to a fight, and they are selling them cheap here." "How much would you buy this Flying Cross for? It's truly magnificent, like no other and you can fly around and around with it to your hearts content. I've been asking for 100 gold for it, but the price is negotiable within reason. Also I have this rotten hand and my friend here has a Piece of Dirt that has the Potential to Save the Universe. Now let's see if you can offer a good price for that! Also, can I exchange gold bars for gold here?" Quote

I believe I have the potential to prove I am eligible for a lower price, what would you want me to do? Quote
Flare Posted December 17, 2012 Author Posted December 17, 2012 "I'll give you 50 gold for each of your gold bar. I think that your broomstick looks like its worth around 25 gold, so thats what I'll give to ya for it." Adam looks on in shock, apparently he does know this Almite Bob. Quote
Palathadric Posted December 17, 2012 Posted December 17, 2012 "I accept the fifty gold per bar, but the 25 for the cross, it's a cross! ...is entirely unacceptable. "Ok lad. I also want a shield and it'd be nice to see it in action before actually using one. Here's 70 golden pieces, buy yourself some sweets. I mean a shield." After paying adam his pocket money, sarge aproaches Erdy and says "Kids eh? I remember when I was like that.. Around 15 minutes ago it was."
