Pyrovisionary Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 Hey, you've gotta leave something for a future quest Next part will be up tomorrow, sorry guys! But don't worry, the quest should be done by the end of the week, so you'll all be free from my extremely long quest soon!! Aaaaaaw! I was hoping for an excessively long twist, where Trice betrays us, uses the staff to do evil and sends Eugene to kill us. Eugene, taking pity on us, let's us live. And we go and take vengeance on trice. Not that? Damn! Quote

Flare Posted January 9, 2013 Author Posted January 9, 2013 Aaaaaaw! I was hoping for an excessively long twist, where Trice betrays us, uses the staff to do evil and sends Eugene to kill us. Eugene, taking pity on us, let's us live. And we go and take vengeance on trice. Not that? Damn! Are you serious? Eugene wouldn't hurt a fly! Free? This quest has been fun, thus far, and it's not like we exactly relish sitting in Heroica Hall waiting for a quest to sign up for. Well I'm very glad you guys have been enjoying my quest. That makes me feel good, as this was my first quest and seems to be pretty successful Its just this has been taking up a lot of my time and I don't have any more material for this quest Quote
Flare Posted January 9, 2013 Author Posted January 9, 2013 (edited) The party zips off with Eugene. They fly through the night and by next early afternoon they arrive at the place. They find that Dr. Trice had come out of his house to greet them back. "Well well well! My heroes have made it back. Good to see you my friends! Please come inside, then you can give me the requested items and I will give you your rewards for acquiring the items for my staff. I see you have a new hero, and Eric isn't here any more. Pity, I liked Eric. Anyways Eugene told me that you are very brave, Sarge, so please come inside, come inside. " Dr. Trice finally notices Adam, who was standing behind the other heroes. Tears well up in Dr. Trice's eyes. "Adam... its been such a long time... where have you been? How have you been? How did you come along with this group of heroes? We have a lot to talk about, son... " The party follows the seemingly gleeful Dr. Trice, his son Adam, and the genie Eugene into the doctor's house. "So, can I please have the items? Then I will be able to go bring your rewards for you all. I'd like to also hear about all your adventures and how you found my dear son, so when I come back with your rewards then feel free to relate to me the whole story! " Edited January 9, 2013 by Flare Quote

The_Customizer Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 First off Dr. Trice, before you receive the items, I have just two questions. Once this staff is complete what do you plan on doing with it? We happened upon Almite Bob who seemed quite positive he did not want you to build it. Secondly, why did you chose heroes to get your items? Agreed there were a few small problems, but besides that, it seems Eugene could have just flew there and retrieved them for you. Quote
Palathadric Posted January 9, 2013 Posted January 9, 2013 Pity, I liked Eric. " Spare us! Apparently our barbarian friend was intolerant to the little drink you prepared him." Anyways Eugene told me that you are very brave, Sarge, so please come inside, come inside. " Anyone is brave compared to that floating goo-ball. Erdy, here has your requested items, Doctor. I have a few questions of my own, but I'll wait for Erdy's to be answered before asking them." Quote
Flare Posted January 10, 2013 Author Posted January 10, 2013 (edited) First off Dr. Trice, before you receive the items, I have just two questions. Secondly, why did you chose heroes to get your items? Agreed there were a few small problems, but besides that, it seems Eugene could have just flew there and retrieved them for you. Dr. Trice sighed. He had been hiding something from the heroes and was struggling internally as to whether he should tell them or not. After an uncomfortable couple minutes of awkward silence Dr. Trice finally speaks in a weak voice. *sigh* "I'll answer your second quest first, since that answer should be the answer to both of your questions. Why did I choose to hire heroes to get my items? Well first off, you know I couldn't have sent Eugene, he couldn't hurt a fly. He couldn't even defend himself if someone attacked him. It's happened before. So I wasn't able to send him." He pauses. "Now of course I could've gone myself... but I didn't trust in myself. I am not a powerful fighter. I have never been a hero of heroica, I know nothing of proper fighting and violence. I don't know if you had realized it or not, but the acquisition of the items was not my true intentions of sending you heroes." Adam and the heroes gasp. Eugene doesn't flinch so apparently he already knew this fact. "Yes. I sent you for the Demon Frog Essence, well yes I need it, but really because I knew that my son was trapped somewhere in the vicinity. I didn't know where exactly, but from the information I had heard from his friends, these scoundrels called the Ostrich Raiders have a series of caves in which they hide loot and apparently also captives. I knew that if I was caught by the Ostrich Raiders I wouldn't be able to fight them off, and that I'm not nearly clever enough to find my son's hiding place. I'm not a magician, I'm an alchemist. I can't just magically find where my son is. So that was my first reason." "I sent you heroes to Shelbric for the Mythril because I knew Almite Bob was there. Yes, he doesn't want me to build, why would he!? We had a big fight and we've been rivals ever since. His situation has degraded and he has tried to stop me in every way. I knew another source of mythril here on this island, but I figured that it would be a perfect situation to get rid of my worst enemy and gain the mythril in the same time. Oh, if the mythril cost you anything, I'd be more than willing to pay you back..." "And as for the Power Trees - I don't know if the trees told you or not, but the Guild of Invision were the ones who planted those trees many years ago. With their alchemic skills they had created a new type of tree seed. They planted the seeds and created a beautiful forest of trees with unnatural properties of strength and endurance. Some of them could even speak in their own type of language. Unfortunately news got out that these trees had unnatural power and the forest was "under attack". Soon most the trees were dead, and destroyed, their fruit stolen. I felt that you heroes were capable enough to find a way to help heal the power tree's pain - otherwise I doubt you would've been able to get the apple." Dr. Trice gives a sigh of relief as he finishes telling all this to the heroes. "I didn't want to tell you all this at the beginning, and I think that in the end everything worked out for good. I'd appreciate it if I could get those items now, so I can do the finishing touches on the staff. Ah! The staff! I forgot to tell you what I really intend to do with it. Well, after some practice, I plan on creating some helpers and I intend to found a sort of hospital here, where I can heal the dangerously-wounded and sick of their injuries and sickness. A place to renew life. The exact purpose of the staff and what I feel I should be doing in my life." "I hope I answered all your answers, dear elf. Did you have any questions, Monk? Anyways... the items? " Edited January 10, 2013 by Flare Quote
Palathadric Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 "My questions, for the most part have been answered as well, but for the amount of peril you put us in really was not too kind of you to attempt to deceive us the way you did." Quote

"Well nothing happened to any of you, and its not like you were in that much danger, and you'll still be getting your rewards as soon as I get the items." Quote

The_Customizer Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 "Here you go Dr. Trice, even though you deceived us, I for one agree that if I knew why we really went I may not have participated in the quest, however looking back in retrospect it was worth it. By the way, the Mithril cost 200 gold." Erdathcath hands Dr. Trice the items. Quote
Palathadric Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 "Didn't the Mythril cost 300 gold, Erdy?" I whisper so that no one else hears. Quote
Flare Posted January 11, 2013 Author Posted January 11, 2013 "Thank you, elf." He says quickly as he grabs the items from Erdathcath's hands. "Now I will test out the items and bring your items back... yes... Come Adam. You might as well come along too, Eugene." Adam and Dr. Trice walk out of the room. "Be back in a few, guys. " And he hovers off as well, leaving the heroes alone in Dr. Trice's salon. The heroes can sit down, if they feel like it Quote
Pyrovisionary Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 "We're in a salon and there's grass? Bah!" We wait.... Quote
The_Customizer Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Erdathcath sits down, making sure to check for any traps or anything in, on, or under the seat which may be unpleasant. Quote
Flare Posted January 11, 2013 Author Posted January 11, 2013 The seats are very comfortable, even the grass is soft to the touch, there are no traps whatsoever in the room. The roses, however, somehow seem slightly suspicious to the ever-keen elf. Quote
The_Customizer Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 Erdathcath inspects the flowers, wondering what could possibly be so suspicious about them. Quote

Flare Posted January 12, 2013 Author Posted January 12, 2013 (edited) Um... conversation, to pass the time perhaps? Erdathcath inspects the flowers, wondering what could possibly be so suspicious about them. Nothing seems wrong with them. EDIT: If you guys care, then I'm not going to make any progress with the ending of the quest until some conversation happens Edited January 12, 2013 by Flare Quote
