The_Customizer Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Eric, we need to base our next attack on what is more important, healing and freeing the Monk, or completely removing these 2 enemies by ourselves. And based off of how I have done so far, I probably won't get very lucky either way. Worse case scenario I can try to heal the Monk while you attack Ricky, that way I won't get as much damage from the Gramps. Quote
Khorne Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 "Okay, Erdathcath, you go ahead and try to heal the old coot. Meanwhile I shall keep myself occupied with these two!" Eric looked at his enemies and prepared another assault, this time aimed at both his foes. Eric attacks Ricky, front row, Godricsleif. Eric attacks Malbert, front row, Godricsleif. Battle Order: Eric Eric Erdathcath Monk Quote
The_Customizer Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Ok, then I shall attempt to Heal the Monk, myself, and Khorne. Quote
Palathadric Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 (edited) You're healing three people? Also, if Erdy succeeds in nurturing me this round, do I get an action as well, or is it only next round? If I get an action: I heal the elf from the front row, if she is already at full health, I use my Scroll of Sealing on Malbert. If I use my Scroll of sealing then Erdy and I should come before Eric. The_Customizer Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Monk, I believe you should heal Eric, that way I can still attack Ricky, (as I am the stronger of the two of us) or should we all just keep attacking until Eric is almost dead, then heal him? Or perhaps I shall apply Venom to my weapon to doe even more damage. Quote
Palathadric Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Flare, have you been taking Khorne's "Boots of Evasion" Artifact into consideration? Methinks not. He's supposed to only take half damage when fighting in the front row. I don't know if this affects the enemies' specials though. "It is probably a better idea if you attempt to heal him, Erdy! Because if you attempt to nurture him you will also remove whatever negative affects he has on him thus enabling him to attack this round, unless I'm wrong, but I sure don't think so. Then I can strike Malbert from the back row. The risk is that if you fail to heal Eric, Ricky will get a free hit and knock one of us out, which would not be good at this point. The less risky option, but still insanely dangerous one, is if you weaken Ricky and I attempt to heal Eric, and we just sit back and attempt to absorb the free hits. I just have to get a confirmation from God on this one point." I have to say that it's at this point that I hate autoplaying. But I understand that you want to keep the quest moving. It's just that none of us can really take a hit from Ricky at this point and neither Ricky nor Malbert are Weakened or Sealed and Eric is stunned. Quote
The_Customizer Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Hmm, very good point. I shall consume 1 smelling salts then I shall hear Eric. Again. OOC: For the sake of auto-rolling, after healing Eric I will weaken Ricky and Malbert. Quote
Palathadric Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 "I don't think you need to bother weakening the old kook! ( ) he doesn't deal that much damage and both you and I fight from the back row whereas Eric takes half damage from the front row, so it should be fine. Ricky's attack, however, ignores row, so it's better to just keep the weakening to him and use your actions to dish out the hits and make the heals. I just realized that you are also immune to being petrified, so perhaps in the future, once we get out of the mess we are presently in, Eric should stick to attacking Ricky, I will stick to healing and you can stick to attacking Malbert. It may be a good idea to hand me that Scroll of Weakening of yours for the duration of this quest, because you have the ability to nurture and also can do more damage with that big explosive thing you carry, than I can do with this cross, which is nevertheless extremely effective for making people come to their senses. Have I made myself understandable?" "If we to enact this strategy, although it kind of depends on what God has to say, I will Heal Eric from the back row, unless Erdy already succeeds in that, in which case I give ol' Malbert a knock on the head with my cross, again from the back row." Proposed Battle Order: Eric Erdathcath Pretzel Eric "That way, We can be fairly confident that Eric will be healed, in which case he will be able to take the free hit from Ricky which, at present, none of us are capable of doing, then you will take the free hit against Malbert if I have to heal instead of striking him." By the way, Erdathcath is healing from the back row, obviously. I have the feeling that there's an easier way of going about this, but I can't think of any at present...I really should get some rest. Flare Posted September 25, 2012 Author Posted September 25, 2012 We don't need to auto-roll if you don't want to. And you could always chuck a smoke bomb Quote
Palathadric Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 It's just that at this point, I don't think we can autoplay. The fight is obviously very winnable, but our luck has just been bad, and being at so low health, it's a bit hard to make decisions for a few rounds to come. If Eric is healed by Erdathcath, I believe he will attack Ricky twice from the Front Row. And Flare, you haven't been taking Eric's Boots of Evasion into account. He only receives half damage when fighting in the front row. Don't know if this goes for the Special Damage as well, but I don't see why not. It should definitely be effective for the normal damage-taking though. I don't mean to sound like a whiner. Quote

Palathadric Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 "I just realized that, since I put Eric before Erdy in the battle order, he would only be able to get one hit, if he is healed. I still think that is the best option though." Quote
