QM Note: Yeah, I can't really run battles if only one party member posts... I'm sorry to say that I will have to discontinue this Fields run if the inactivity continues. :sceptic: You can come back again when you've got the time to participate more regularly if that turns out to be the case. But if we can all stay active, I'm happy to keep this going.

OoC: I was waiting to see what Brickdoctor's plan was, in case my action was bad and made planning more difficult. Honestly, I don't really know what I should attack, considering how difficult this battle really is.

Posted

OoC: My bad. I thought I'd already posted something.

"I'd prefer to use a Smoke Bomb. Miss Uq already has several high-Level undead, so even though raising some of the enemies here would be nice, I don't think we need them too badly. The loot here isn't that special, and we have plenty of Smoke Bombs."

Posted

I throw a Smoke Bomb from the Back Row.

"So are we planning to use consumables and then come back, or should we clear out some of the medium-difficulty areas instead?"

Posted

"I'm not quite sure. We could go to the Forsaken Mine, as far as I can remember from my previous time here there are some humanoid enemies there, which should be more efficient for my undead to tear through. But regardless of where we're going I think we should consider using some smelling salts, that's the only way we'll be able to keep enough of the enemies occupied to avoid their free hits knocking us all out."

OoC: also, I'm leaving for the US tomorrow morning, but even though I'll be in a less different timezone it's possible I won't be around to post all the time. Brickdoctor can control Namyrra in case you're waiting for her.

Posted

"The loot at the Forsaken Mine looks less useful, and our other option is the Firefly Mire, which I remember doesn't have much loot, either. So, I'm fine with returning to Rainbow Falls. Should we do it without On The Clock this time?

"Unfortunately, I have no buffing consumables, so I'll need some assistance there. I'm happy to trade something small for them, though."

Posted

"I can spare you some smelling salts, I don't think we need to use meads."

Namyrra gives two smelling salts to Docken.

"Now, let's go back to those stupid crabs, I want to kill them."

Before going back to Rainbow Falls Namyrra uses Smelling Salts and Ambrosia.

Posted

The party escapes with a Smoke Bomb to quickly buff themselves and return to the battle. This time the heroes choose to forgo any challenge.

I attack Angry Crab A and then Angry Crab B from the Back Row with my Darksteel Crossbow.

"I'll wait for you to decide how to use your undead, Miss Uq, before setting our order."

Posted

"Well Master Docken, if you're attacking crabs A and B I guess I'll have my undead kill C and partially kill D. So if master Johon could attack crab D and a frog, then I can target crab E and the phoenix, and then we'll only take free hits from 11 of the frogs which should be manageable."

Magic Carp A, B, Aquaphant, Gloom Widow A, Tangleweed A and Nutterfly A kill Angry Crab C (66+66+41+33+25+9=240)

Gloom Widow B, Tangleweed B,C,E and Death's Rose A attack Angry Crab D (33+25+25+25+15=123)

Namyrra sends a wind spell at Phoenix from the back row, and a Wood spell at Angry Crab E from the back row.

Posted

"Master Johon, since you're Lucky, I think it's less likely that you'll need the benefit of a potential Aura, and the first five spots in the Order are all going to take the same number of Free Hits, so I'll have you go first in case you Encourage us."

Order of Actions:

  • Magic Carp A, Magic Carp B, Aquaphant, Gloom Widow A, Tangleweed A, and Nutterfly A
  • Gloom Widow B, Tangleweed B, Tangleweed C, Tangleweed E, and Death's Rose A
  • Johon
  • Johon
  • Bartholomew Docken
  • Bartholomew Docken
  • Namyrra Uq
  • Namyrra Uq

Posted

"I'm confident we can hold them off now that we're all hastened, we're now facing 11 free hits in the first round, in our previous attempt we had to take 14 free hits. This means we have time to get rid of the crabs, I need 2 rounds to kill 3 crabs, so assuming one of us manages to hit a frog I'd say they'll all be gone after three rounds, and then mopping up the frogs shouldn't be too hard. As for the Phoenix I only need one good hit to take that out, something which definitely should be achievable."

OoC: Undead don't prevent Free Hits, right?

"Master Johon, if you don't mind, I suggest you use a Nostrum on Miss Uq with one of your actions, since she's attacking the Phoenix. Stay in the Back Row this time when you attack; that should allow you to survive a Round before needing to be healed. I'll have you act second so you'll take one of the harmless Free Hits."

"Miss Uq, I assume you'll take out the two non-Blinded Angry Crabs, so I'll attack two of the frogs. Their Special won't really do anything too harmful to me, anyways."

I attack Rainbow Frog B and Rainbow Frog C from the Back Row with my Darksteel Crossbow.

Order of Actions:

  • Undead
  • Bartholomew Docken
  • Johon
  • Bartholomew Docken
  • Johon
  • Namyrra Uq

"I'll see what I can do. Was thinking I could take out the fragile frog too, should be possible. Master Johon, I believe you'll need to give a conditional action that says that if Frog A is already dead, as it will be, you'll attack Frog E."

Magic Carp A, B, Aquaphant, Gloom Widow A, Tangleweed A and Nutterfly A kill Angry Crab E (66+66+41+33+25+9=240)

Angry Crab C, Tangleweed B, Tangleweed C kill Angry Crab D (40+25+25=90)

Gloom Widow B, Tangleweed E, Death's Rose A kill Frog A (33+25+15=73)

Namyrra casts a Wind spell at Phoenix from the back row, and a Fire spell at Frog D from the back row.

"If you can get your minions to take out this frog I can deal some serious damage on those crabs!"

Johon attacks crab B if he can.

OoC: Bricksandparts, Quarry already said that he'd take out Frog A. Additionally, if you attack Crab B, then you're going to take more Damage from Free Hits, and, like I said, you need to act from the Back Row so there's a good chance of your surviving the Round.
