Lind Whisperer Posted December 21, 2014 Posted December 21, 2014 Whether by chance or fate, Lind does indeed find 5 gold, pocketing it before the farmer and his animals can see. Lind, extremely pleased, slipped the coins into his pocket while quietly murmuring to himself. "Luck, chance, fate. The chaos is maddening, but it comes in waves. First, the luck of the beginner, your birth into the new world shoving and buoying you onward, until you believe you are unstoppable. Then, suddenly, you are handed off to the midwife of chance, and ducked under the waters painfully. But, after that, then you are given into the care of the scholar of fate, to create your future." He tipped his hat politely to the cheerful farmer and animals, and strode off, down the lane, back towards the smoky towers and low burghers' houses of Eubric. Quote

If you haven't figured out it by now, I will act as your host for this trip. Let's have some fun at the new and improved Fields! "Many thanks, Master Donauld. It is good to be back, even if so soon." "I noticed that you have a couple of throwing weapons, do you think you can crack a whip? I could lend it to you for this journey if you want. It might not crackle as loud as the others, perhaps it can be a backup weapon of choice, just as a precaution." "Thank you, I do believe that that would be useful. My Ethereal Decks - well, they have a certain meaning to me culturally, but after having to retrieve them so often last time, I have begun to wonder if they are really worth it." Lind accepts the Chaotic Whip. "I was looking over our skills, and I was thinking you perhaps might want to wear my Anniversery Medal, while I wear your Aventine's Tricorn? They are both immune to fire, so we would lose nothing there, and since, as one of our most skilled Heroes, you will likely be higher up in the battle order, the added defense would help diminish any damage you recieve." Ooc: I believe Sandy dropped our cards from our stats since we won't be using them here. Quote
KotZ Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 Kiray looked at the farmer and the gate. Then she glanced at her fellow Heroes. The knight stretched her arms and mentally prepared herself for what was to come. "A serpentine beast you say? Have you seen it?" Quote

Purpearl winks at Kiray. Edited January 2, 2015 by Purpearljellyblob Quote
Lind Whisperer Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 "Sounds good to me. I suppose you would be replacing your current headwear with the tricorne?" "Yes. It will have the negative effect of making me a bit more vulnerable, and if we didn't have such a good-sized party, it wouldn't be such a good idea, but we do, and it is." Lind hands Purpearl his Anniversery Medal. Quote
Siercon and Coral Posted January 2, 2015 Posted January 2, 2015 OoC: Totally here btw just waiting on a deal from Fabian... Sandy, should I just proceed without it, or do you think Fabian will reply soon? Quote

"I believe you have been here before Lind, do you have any ideas or feel like we would be up to the challenge?" "Yes. Since we're a full, well-armored and geared party of six, I think we should go through the Fields by number, and we should try the "War" challenge - although we'll need to make doubly sure we pick the right targets at the start of each fight. My last party would have gone much further than we did, but we faced a few too many Bugbears in the Apple Orchard. I seriously doubt we'll be seeing the same problem here, though." Lind looked around, admiring the strength of the party that had been assembled. He equipped Aventine's Tricorne, and settled it at a jaunty angle. Edited January 2, 2015 by Lind Whisperer Quote

Sounds... weird." Quote
StickFig Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 (edited) Matthias arrives at the farm just in time to see the Munchkin puff up and try to wear a hat. He laughs a little at how the diminutive party leader has the tricorne arranged - he probably think's that's a terribly rakish look, poor short soul doesn't know a thing about hats. Adjusting his own much more fashionable topper, the gnome makes eye contact with the Farmer to ensure he's counted but stands quietly in the back. Sandy, I found an error that I made in my stats - Matthias doesn't have the chance to be *Encouraged* any more because he's wearing the Hunter's Plate instead of his Dapper Hat. Here's an updated stats page: Matthias the Carnival Crusader (StickFig) Level 16 Druid *Gains 10 gold for each Humanoid killed* *Immune to Bound, Slowed* Power Bonus: 10 Defense: 4 Health: 26/26 Ether: 16/16 Gold: 91 Equipment: Restored Fireball Extraordinaire (WP:9, also hits enemies listed above and below the target, Darkness- and Lightning-elemental, user is Slowed, hand cannon), Hunter's Plate (SP:4, wearer gains 10 gold for each Humanoid killed, suitable for rogues, rangers, barbarians, beast warriors, infiltrators, regulators, and winged warriors) (Dreyrugr), Winged Sandals (Protects from Bound and Slowed effects, footwear) Inventory: Peashooter (WP:2, deals Burning -2, hand cannon), Pongcanis Crossbow (WP:8, crossbow), Dapper Hat (This amazingly dapper hat gives the wearer a ⅙ chance of being Encouraged at the start of any battle, headwear), Ruby (Fire), 2x Elixir, Grand Potion, Grating Stone, Potion, 2x Red Death Blood, 4x Remedy, 2x Smoke Bomb, Bedroll, Magic Compass P.S. - Does the "War" challenge apply to healers? Could I attack a monster, then heal a party member, then go back to attacking (the same) monster? Edited January 3, 2015 by StickFig Quote

Ooc: He's the same height as every other human. Munchkin is his "sub-nationality" name, not his species name. Like how someone from New York City could be called a New Yorker. Siercon and Coral Posted January 3, 2015 Posted January 3, 2015 Siercon arrives joining the others. "Hi everyone" he says. "Lind Whisperer, I am glad for you being party leader, but I was wondering if you wouldn't mind letting me have significant say in the challenges we choose. This kind of strategy is one of my passions, and from what I've seen they can be used much more than people have in the past..." Siercon contemplates the various calculations and probabilities in the compiling effects... ======================== OoC: But really, I've got google docs all prepped an ready if you'd like to hear my thoughts. Quick clarification though for Sandy: For the multiplier, does the equation look like this or this: Examples use: Lvl X = Xgp, and lets assume we choose 3 multiplier challenges that are respectively 1.5, 2, 2.5 all at the same time. X*1.5*2*2.5=7.5X or (X*1.5)+(X*2)+(X*2.5)=6X =========================== "Sure, that works out great!" Siercon says turning to Purpearl and handing her the Lullaby Wand. Quote

Please, share with us your thoughts/strategies." Ooc: As far as I know, we can only have one challenge active at a time. Quote
