CM4Sci Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Might I also suggest a lock into your Lego room? If your Lego room is a part of another room, might I suggest a heavy curtain? What LEGO room? -Sci Quote
PenPlays Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Allow me to emphasize on the curtain, if indeed, your Lego area (as I should have phrased it) is not in its own specified room. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Le Lego and Le Dog must always be kept seperate! If the dog cannot be prevented entry the advice is sealable boxes and always tidy up once you are done! Ongoing projects need to be higher than the dog's reach and suchlike. Quote
DraikNova Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Good thing my dog is slightly scared of LEGO. That's what happens if you accidentally fire a launcher near a dog. Quote
TheRedGuy Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 If you intend to get a replacement, I think it should be soon. The set is retiring. Might I also suggest a lock into your Lego room? If your Lego room is a part of another room, might I suggest a heavy curtain? Retiring? Why, was it not popular enough? Quote
howie28 Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Yeah, that seems way too quick to retire a set. For a thing like the speedorz where new ones come out more frequently than regular playsets, I would expect that they retire around 6 months after they were released. Quote
Aanchir Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Yeah, that seems way too quick to retire a set. For a thing like the speedorz where new ones come out more frequently than regular playsets, I would expect that they retire around 6 months after they were released. They need to be retired quickly to make room for new stock. Speedorz are released every three months or so, just as Ninjago spinners were. I'm not entirely sure what the "retiring soon" icon means on shop.LEGO.com, but it might just be an indication that production of that set has ended and thus it will no longer be restocked if it sells out. Which makes perfect sense for sets produced in such quick succession as Speedorz. Quote
dip Posted February 19, 2013 Posted February 19, 2013 Quick introduction: I'm dip, a dutch afol, known at Lowlug under the same name. I've been around for a couple of years and visited legoworld (zwolle) and afolcon amongst others. Why this post? I just reviewed set 70006 Craggers command ship at lowlug. Normally we only do Dutch versions. But this one is special and therefor I also translated it to English. I got the opportunity to interview Mark Stafford the lego designer about the set and incorporated the answers in the review, Mark even provided some preliminary pictures from early design models. 70006 craggers command ship review at lowlug So I hope you all will like it. xxlrocka Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 Oh hey, wait, it gets better! I come home from a friend's house to see both Longtooth and his Speedor torn apart by my dog! -Sci Man, you must have really bad luck. And a horrible dog. Seriously, just get a big box to put the other boxes in. When you are finished with the sets, put them back in their respective boxes and put said boxes into large box. I doubt a dog can smash open a sealed plastic box or something. Quote

Sure, but who wants to pack a new set up just after building it for the first time? Unless I specifically bought a set for parts, most of my sets stay displayed for months on end! Quote

But, I thankfully don't have a pet ! Quote
PenPlays Posted February 20, 2013 Posted February 20, 2013 With this years sets however, I will need to take apart some of the Ninjago sets. Villain Vehicles are first to go, specifically starting with the Skeletons. Quote

skelliesgang Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 I stopped by my local Lego store today and the March release Speedorz were available on shelf. I thought it was strange since they're not listed on the shop website yet. Quote
PenPlays Posted February 23, 2013 Posted February 23, 2013 A little bit of input for you videos just2good. I suggest reading the "How to play" comic in the back of each of the Speedorz instruction booklets. The point of Nest Dive is to dive into the nest (good luck with that one . Also the little Speedorz attachments are officially called Power-Upz as mentioned in the description here. Also I think I understand the reasoning for the Lennox and Worriz/Winzar Speedorz reuse. Eagles' Castle has a set set number as opposed to a Speedorz set number. Being that the Eagles' Castle will have a different lifespan, it was decided that those particular Speedorz will be included in their own blister packs so that they can be a part of the "initial Speedorz lineup" for 2013. That reasoning is beyond me, but it does give Eglor's Speedor (egg-lor, it's supposed to be a bird pun of sorts) a spotlight, which is most deserving considering it's the best Speedor to date, the "Shreekor 390" (skreek like an eagle cry ) Quote

I just got confused because the back of the packaging game with all three combined shows that one has to jump over the nest. And, thanks for the tip up on the Power-Upz! Whatz with all theze z's in Chima setz? Quote

Whatz with all theze z's in Chima setz? I believe it'z juzt to make the namez look cooler for the target audienze. It's the reason why I call all of the hazards in the Speedor sets "Hazardz." Also the Speedorz combo setup purposefully puts the Nest Dive in the middle just before the Ice Tower, being that you have such a small chance of landing the Speedor on it's single wheel after a jump like that. You use the Nest Dive to jump into the Ice Tower. Being that you also, can't get over to the Ice Tower without fully pulling the rip cord, it eliminates the chances of getting in the nest any way, even if it were easy to land right-side-up.
