just2good Posted July 22, 2013 Author Posted July 22, 2013 According to J2G's reviews, Rawzom and Eris's Speedorz are the same as Razar and Equila's... I noticed in 'The Joy Ride', the wolves use the same Speedor, so that might relate to this problem. -Sci Yep, kinda blows if you ask me. Wakz is the only wolf to have a different Speedor. On the bright side, I found the whole wave at Toys"R"Us today- almost sold out! I know a lot of y'all don't like video reviews, but if you do, . I couldn't resist. Quote
Vindicare Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Just got an email from TRU for a Build a Speedorz Challenge Saturday the 27th, 12-2. Quote
CM4Sci Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 Just got an email from TRU for a Build a Speedorz Challenge Saturday the 27th, 12-2. I'm going to it. I'm not sure if they're asking us to bring our Speedorz or if they'll have them for us? It'd be weird having me there. -Sci Quote
CM4Sci Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 (edited) Sorry for bumping, but this thread has gone really dead lately. More proof the sets are out in good ol' USofA: Oh, also, I'm going to the TRU thing tomorrow. I'll record some stuff. Not sure they'll let me, but I'll try. -Sci Edited July 7, 2015 by CM4Sci Quote
Churchill Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I picked up Cragger's Command Ship today. It's an amazing build. Regardless of what anyone thinks about the Chima "theme" or "story" this Ship and Gorzon's striker are two of the best sets I've seen this year. Quote

Not sure they'll let me, but I'll try. -Sci I sure hope you can scan those instructions. It would be nice to Bricklink the add-on if I can't make it (or if there are age limits of course ). I'm surprised to already see the Croc Swamp Hideout there! I hope to be heading to my local store some time next week to (finally!! it's been since June!!) buy Royal Roo- *ahem*... something. Another note. Minecraft Micro World has been available at my store for nearly two months. The Hayabusa, however, has not. Has anyone in the Western Hemisphere found Crug's Swamp Jet anywhere? It was on toysrus.com a while ago, but there was never really any reason why. It's the last Poly that I need for Chima and it is killing me!! Edited July 27, 2013 by Penkid11 Quote

OriginalJK555 Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Got the TRU Speedorz build. They let me bag it to take home and build. Got a Skinnet Speedorz just to get something. Quote
CM4Sci Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 Back from TRU. Got 2 of the Speedorz build. They even let me have the cardboard thing (it's really just a folded sheet of cardboard) the kids (mainly was me) could play on. I stayed for about an hour building things out of the little paper bins they had. Made some cool ramps and stuff. Review will be very soon! -Sci Quote
just2good Posted July 27, 2013 Author Posted July 27, 2013 Didn't get the challenge thing. On vacation. Pity me. I'm so spoiled I'm gonna call up LEGO when I'm done and ask them if they can send me a leftover copy. Quote
krystalKING Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I had a rather different event, there was a table showcasing the new speedorz, in packaging of course, and the builds were handed out inside bags with instuctions. That didn't stop the chaos around it, however. Kids were dumping the bags, building the model on the floor, and running around screaming.(I kid you not.) All the time, I was calmly walking around, checking out the new wave sets. I walked in not intending to buy anything, I walked out with crugs swamp jet and Sky Joust. Quote

krystalKING Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 (edited) I saw every single Chima set in existence, with the exception of the vaentines polybags, turns out Gorzans striker is also popular, that and the command ship were there, but they were scarce. The Promo, and I didn't watch the review, but I think you can agree with me, is just parts, kind of impressed that they put in a green 8x8 plate, its like that 3x3 plate on the Z-95 headhunter Promo, how many people know that part was made? Note: Eris' axe in sky joust, is called Axcalibur. Edited July 27, 2013 by krystalKING Quote
PenPlays Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 So how in the world does this promo build attach to Eagle's Castle? Quote
OriginalJK555 Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 (edited) My TRU was dead too. I'm surprised to hear some of these came bagged. I was already at the store when employees started setting up and everything was shipped in bulk. All pieces were seperated by part into these cardboard containers much like CM4S shows in his video at the store. I am at work now but when I get home I can scan the instructions and upload them here if anyone would like. Edited July 28, 2013 by OriginalJK555 Quote
PenPlays Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 An eventful evening! Went to Toys R Us to see if they had any extra promos, but turned up dry. I then decided to stroll the Lego isles, and found them fully stocked with the last of the Summer sets, and Crug's Swamp Jet (Polybag collection now complete! I then went to the Lego store and found them fully stocked with the last of the Summer sets as well. I couldn't resist Eglor's Twin Bike. Summer has officially arrived! Quote
OriginalJK555 Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 So how in the world does this promo build attach to Eagle's Castle? I don't think it actually does, mind you I haven't tried. My guess is they were trying to cross-sell the Eagle's Castle with the free set you got to build. Quote
Lyichir Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 So how in the world does this promo build attach to Eagle's Castle? If I had to guess, it would somehow involve separating the "ramps" of the Eagle's Castle and attaching them to this. So not connecting with it so much as being compatible with certain parts of it. PenPlays Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 (edited) As I always do when I get a new action theme set, it's time for some mini reviews! Crug's Swamp Jet is the cheapest Crocodile centric vehicle out there, but all in all, it's not very interesting. Sure there are some nice Olive parts but you can get the same quantity of these parts in Crawley's Claw Ripper (and then some!). Be that as it may, there is one very key selling point here: this set includes Crug, a Crocodile that, by the looks of it, will only be available in sets that need a serious price adjustment (Lennox's Lion Attack at $25 and the Fall Speedorz Croc Chomp at $15), making this set perfect for the minifig collector who wishes to save as much money as possible. The CHI included in the set is also quite nice, being that it is a prop rather than the vehicle's battery meaning that you don't have to "break" the set in order for a character to have CHI in hand. On the other hand, Eglor's Twin Bike is a different, and confusing, story all together! The only two CHI in the set are not only included in bag one, but also in the instructions as a prop for the minifigures, one for each minifigure to be exact. Sure this seems nice, you have more "prop" CHI, but what's this? In the bag two part of the instructions, you have to plug these CHI into the Twin Bike's suspension! Why waste the ink? I guess that isn't much of a problem, being that this set has only one instruction book for a change. Not to mention an itty-bitty sticker sheet. Per typical building order, you are to build the smaller portion of the set first, in this case being Razcal's Chopper. Let's take a quick break from that and talk just about Razcal here for a minute. He has the new silver armor which is nice, not to mention a nice brick-built bow/blaster, but the instructions have you apply a 1x2 bley plate between his back and his wings. The set later has you apply another 1x2 bley plate to the "cockpit" portion of the chopper. In order to put Razcal into the chopper you need to remove the 1x2/wing combo from his back, and latch him onto the 1x2 of the chopper. Why am I rambling on about this nice feature to keep all the parts together? Well, the headlight parts used on the chopper for the 1x2 plate leaves room for the wings in between the backing and the rotor, sans the 1x2 bley keeping the wings together. This allows him to keep the wings along with him, keeping the minifigure complete while interacting with the set. Personally, I find the latter better, and the extra 1x2 bley plate just a bit of a nuisance. Anyway, besides that very particular nit-pick of mine ( ) the Chopper itself is actually a very nice addition to the set. It is has a very nice size as well as a very basic, yet effective rotor function. Over all, besides not looking like a Raven as the whole Chima Theme promotes, the Chopper still fits quite well into the Raven's fleet (and lonely 4x4). Thank you for making it this far ( ) because it is now time to talk about the main portion of the set! I find myself very partial to transforming Lego sets and this one was no exception, especially since it's an Eagle vehicle (my favorite tribe). The Twin Bike, despite the seemingly massive wheels is particularly small. This is a motorbike, so not that big of a deal, except that $25 price tag on the box... Again, we have a very basic, yet effective function here, as the transformation feature from bike to jet is mainly hinges and a click-turntable. Be that as it may, both forms of the vehicle look quite nice and still accomplish the Eagle look of the set. in either form. However, the clearly Eagle portion of the set is mainly centered around the cockpit, meaning that when Eglor uses the escape pod feature (as we are accustomed to with all Eagle sets), the only Eagle portion of the set is gone, leaving behind two large wheels and a CHI riddled engine. It is a bit disappointing, but I digress. For a bit of trivia, unlike the other Eagle sets, this set only includes one Dark Blue (basic blue) piece besides the typical Technic pins. Eglor, the Twin Bike's pilot, is no different from his Equila's Ultra Striker and Nest Dive counterparts. He wields a yet to be named CHI chain weapon due to the Legend of Chima website's lack of Summer updates. Crug's Swamp Jet 7/10: Not to exciting at $4, but some parts, and Crug in particular are quite nice. Eglor's Twin Bike 8/10: The functions are basic, but the set as whole is very nice. It could have included a bigger Raven vehicle, however, at $25, but what have we come to expect from Chima sets at that price range? Thanks for reading! Edited July 28, 2013 by Penkid11 Quote

Meiko Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 Nice walls, CM4S! Not sure that cardboard beats my cool Bionicle store display and massive plastic LEGO beam (linky of semi-photobombed picture but oh well), but still cool you got a hold of that. Quote

I'm thinking of using it whenever I make a 'smaller' Chima set review. It's great for Speedorz too. That beam is awesome though! -Sci Quote
