SpiderSpaceman Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 I honestly think the grey wolves are too flat-faced, but on the black one that doesn't show too much. On the other hand, it could be that I've misjudged the length of the snout. Y'know the one that makes my brain spark is the dark brown croc. I guess it's not that that's not a respectable reptilian hue, it's just so far removed that it doesn't register as one of the group. I think I need to see it from another angle/higher definition Quote
Shakar Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Having the animal heads as masks is certainly a very good idea- it lets you play with the regular heads far more, such as trying on helmets, hair pieces, beards and other things. The birds and the mammals definitely use masks, I wonder if the crocs do too? I agree that the bird vehicles are the best, the Croc boat is very cool too. Like many others I'm not very fond of the Lions, they look pretty kiddy compared to the others- but since they're lions, I guess they'll sort of be the protagonists.. Quote
SpiderSpaceman Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Hey so here's an idea for how an insect faction could work: locust people arrive to destroy all the chi and the enemy factions call a growling truce to stop them Quote
BrickG Posted October 25, 2012 Posted October 25, 2012 Some of the minifigures are interesting... I might get a set if I have extra $$$. I want pig and rhino people. Quote

CM4Sci Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 (edited) Brick Show has gotten one of those Razcal figures. They have a pretty odd way of pronouncing "Chima". -Sci Edited October 27, 2012 by CM4S Quote
Aanchir Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Brick Show has gotten one of those Razcal figures. I love how they mispronounce "Chima". -Sci Do we know how it's supposed to be pronounced yet? Don't forget that it was quite a while before we knew how Ninjago was supposed to be pronounced. Quote
Haltiamieli Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Brick Show has gotten one of those Razcal figures. I tend to be pretty irritated by Brick Show's style and this was not an exception, but admittedly he did manage to give more or less all the necessary points of view of the figure unlike the original eBay seller (like how the back looks with wings attached and detached). They have a pretty odd way of pronouncing "Chima". Do we actually know the official pronounciation? Not that his way sounds very likely. Quote

Being a competitor to TBS, I can agree. I really like the torso of the figure, and the mask printing is very detailed. Quote
Suspsy Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 I can understand not liking the designs, but taking the Croc Boat to task because real crocodiles don't have enormous bulging eyes is just plain silly. I wonder if they'll roll out new animal factions for a future wave. Pandas, rhinos, bears, and owls would be nifty. Quote
bekindsorewind Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Brick Show has gotten one of those Razcal figures. They have a pretty odd way of pronouncing "Chima". -Sci It's pretty pointless spending $30 for a minifigure that will appear in a $15 set in about 2-3 weeks. Same point for the Batman figure. They will just buy all the sets with all the minifigs anyway, so what's the point? I understand they are trying to be "first" (because reviewing has turned into some sort of competitive race on YouTube) but there's also just having common sense. Anyways, my rant on the overrated TBS aside, cool figure. Probably one of the best this wave. Quote

They'll be making a bit more than $30 per video with new figures. Now, if they got a 2013 set early, they would be making A LOT more than the cost it would take to buy them. Quote
Niku Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 The figure is better than expected, I will have to get them. Thanks for the video. Quote

Yeah that guy needs a good punch in the face or something. I'm gonna watch the video muted to see the figure, I don't care to see how he pronounces it enough to suffer through listening to him Quote
Zachattacx Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Thanks for the video CM4S.Razcal is looking quite sharp with those wings and mask, but I'm wondering if its made of poor plastic or something along that line because on the Ebay listing the leg printing looks terrible. Quote
Jargo Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 ninJARgo? Legends of shEEma? Is that guy for real. Quote
just2good Posted October 27, 2012 Author Posted October 27, 2012 ninJARgo? Legends of shEEma? Is that guy for real. Reminds me of the time he pronounced Magneto "MAGNET-oh". Okay, I pronounce it "Chee-ma". I guess you can also say "Chy-ma". Is that how all you pronounce it? Quote
Aethersprite Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 (edited) I'm guessing its "CHEE-ma" - I mean, the theme's about magical animals, so I figured it got its name from chi, pronounced "chee". You know, all that yin and yang and Ninjago. But it sure as heck isn't "chi-MAAA" that the guy is pronouncing it. It's ridiculous. I agree that the Brick Show can get pretty annoying, with their on and off overenthusiasm. But they get their views, so I can't argue with that. Edited October 27, 2012 by Lockon Stratos Quote
Rez Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 (edited) Here's what Megabloks have been up to lately, just to lay these comparisons at rest: Megabloks is barely even a construction toy anymore. Legends of Chima uses a ton of classic LEGO parts in new colors and a small handful of new molds. They aren't even in the same ballpark and I think everybody knows that. Seriously, every time a new theme comes out, people start clamoring about Megabloks comparisons, but I have yet to see LEGO come up with something that's even close. Besides perhaps Galidor. Damn, I know this is a lego forum and everyone is just supposed to hate megabloks, but at least inform your opinions. That set you posted has plenty of parts, and ripping on it because some of them are specialized is like tearing apart lego for making TIE windscreens or car chasis. Oh, and this is what else they've been up to: It's 2800+ pieces of barely being a construction toy I saw it in person at NYCC and it was damn impressive! I could care less about HALO but cut them some slack, they're not the demon and they've been putting out some great toys for a while now. I really don't get all the hate, it's like racism among toys :P As for Chima, these have really started to win me over. Loving the Croc boat so much has forced me to look at the other sets more. I love the Ravens, I'll pick up a few of the small raven set to swarm the crocs. Still don't care for the lions, but all the bird related sets are pretty nifty. I think in general it's great to have an official lego theme with so many seperate factions. Edited October 27, 2012 by Rez Quote
DraikNova Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Personally, I just pronounce it cheymah. Quote
Kai NRG Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 I can understand not liking the designs, but taking the Croc Boat to task because real crocodiles don't have enormous bulging eyes is just plain silly. . . I was just saying that that's one of the problems I have with it. Even without the huge red eyes, I'd find some other reason not to like it. Quote
phanstasm Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Didn't see this posted already - sorry if I missed it: Chima teaser site is up! Hang around for a 3 image slideshow - starts automatically. http://chima.lego.com/en-us/teaser/ Quote
Kai NRG Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Nope that hasn't been posted yet, that sure was fast! Quote
The Mugbearer Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Watching now Brickshow. Damn, those wings! I do not absolutely like how they are attached to the armor, but it's better than if they weren't separate parts at all! Also I like his second face. It's like that face. =D Quote
DraikNova Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Well, if the teaser site says anything about how the show's animations will be, I'm watching it. Quote
