I get the feeling 70003 reminds me a little of both Mark's jet from Battle Of The Planets and Hawk's fighter from 1981 Buck Rogers. :look:

Thanks 'GRogall' for the links......interesting - best one by far the croc ship !

What did we learn today, kids? Crooler is the first minifig with a navel piercing ever. Actually, she and Razcal are the first minifigs with piercings I've ever seen..

I hadn't even noticed there was a female croc in there. Never would have noticed her navel piercing. She looks pretty cool actually, but I'm vaguely disgruntled about the whole "piercings=EVIIIIL!" concept that TLG is so crazy about lately. The Mordor orcs all have lots of facial piercings, and so did a couple of the undead pirates in POTC. I guess the movies themselves are more to blame than TLG, but here they're perpetuating it in their own theme.

 Thank you, Gorgall! You really are the hi-res hero.

Looking at the pics closely (don't know why) I noticed a few odd things:

Laval has 2 'heads'. One with a smile, and one with a 'grr' expression.

The Jungle Gates image is a CGI render. Lennox's nose is brown and there's a random wooden thing in the middle of the second 'goal'.

Longtooth's head in the Chi Battles set is turned a little too much to the left.

My random noticings: In the croc boat set one of the upper teeth has been knocked inwards and one of the lime cheese slopes isn't pressed down for optimum clutch. Also Craggers cloak is being worn off the shoulder for the photoshoot. :sweet:

Rizzo the raven has no talons on his good foot or indeed any leg printing on that leg.

The random thing in the jungle gates set image looks like a malformed minifig torso. Possibly an artifact of a rushed rendering process. :sceptic:

In the lion archway Cragger vs Laval set there's a whacking great fingerprint visible on the right side of the arch on the brown arch brick. Tsk! :hmpf_bad::grin:

Retail tradeshow?

This display is fantastic! Chima doesn't appeal to me as much as some of the other LEGO lines available, but this promotional display case definitely makes me wish I liked it more. (If that makes any sense.) Oh so awesome...my inner model geek is going nuts!

That set-up looks fantastic, really makes me wish LEGO sold trees and floating rocks... Looks like the speedorz will be used in the TV show, something that was always lacking in Ninjago - they used Spinjitzu, but you never saw the spinner! (Not that I wanted to see spinners all over. But then buying the spinners doesn't do you much good if you want to recreate the story (except for the figs, I guess). Seems like Chima will use the Speedorz a lot. )

Anyway, here are how the speedorz work, for anyone who doesn't want to go scrolling through the website in Korean...

Edit: Since I can't embed it, here it is. It's not working any more, but you can still scroll though to find it.

Yeah, I agree on that. I don't wear any piercings, but I consider them pretty cool. Razcal, the Raven in the small set, has 4-5 rings on his face too. I'd like a good guy with piercings, maybe an Eagle or a Gorilla...

They are probably combination story books/guide books like the various hardcover Ninjago books published by Ladybird (in the UK), Nelson (in Germany), and AMEET (in Poland). See here, for example.

I listed those as well as three American Chima books published by Scholastic in this post.

From the look of things, these will also be published in some form by Ladybird (link), though like their Ninjago books this seems to be a compilation of both the German books. I have never owned any versions of these books so have not been able to verify if the Ninjago books by Ladybird end up removing content by condensing the continental European editions into "two in one" editions.

That display is awesome! I agree, I'm not too interested in this theme, but just seeing that does make me wish I liked it more. But there are too many sets out there to get, so lines have to be drawn somewhere!

Maybe I'll change my mind once the gorillas come around.
