Kai NRG Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 (edited) Hope someone reviews one of the speedorz soon. I'm dying to figure out what the cards do/look like! Edited December 20, 2012 by Kai NRG Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I have got hold of one, 70101. It's lacking set wise, but Equila is brilliant, as are the cards. Quote

TheBoyWonder Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I'm away from my camera right now, but, I can answer a few questions. The cards are for the game, and function the same as the Ninjago cards apart from only certain minifigures can use them. I got 5 cards with the set. The mold for The eagles head is like the CMF gorilla, and allows a minifigure head inside. Equila has a double sided head. The wings are attached with another piece to the armor. Equila has back printing as well. I purchased it for £10 from Asda, Charlton. Quote
Jackattack7 Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 (edited) @Theboywonder How much is Razcal's Glider? Also can you give a list of prices, especially Eris' Eagle Interceptor. Edited December 20, 2012 by Jackattack7 Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 They only had a few. I will list the ones they had later. Quote

EDIT: Did the other £29.99 look like a grey truck or a blue and white tank kind of thing. Edited December 20, 2012 by Jackattack7 Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 I honestly can't remember the other one, but, no command ship. Quote

Aanchir Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Hope someone reviews one of the speedorz soon. I'm dying to figure out what the cards do/look like! We already know what the cards look like. See here. They're nice, though I've personally always had a preference for simple table-based cards like the Ninjago cards versus these kinds of graphically-intensive cards. In the very least this card layout means more space for character layout, rather than the Ninjago cards' unnecessary stat bars. Quote
PenPlays Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Upon looking at the sets on Lego S@H (Says January first, The Lego Stores are respecting this... even though they sit unopened in the back rooms ) It seems as if all the exclusives are priced at $39.99 each. All but the Ultra Striker are rip-offs, Not to mention Lennox's Buggy which has a price that is utterly atrocious! Quote

New themes with a lot of new minifig accessories/elements have jacked up prices?(see TMNT for price hike) Edited December 21, 2012 by Legocrazy81 Quote

PenPlays Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 (edited) A typical $10 Lego set is between 90 to 110 pieces. Now putting into account that between 20 to 30 piece sets are about $5 if not a tad more, one can assume that, in the Ninjago's spinners' case, the spinner and cards are the other $5. Being that the Speedorz are about the same size as the spinners (Wheel unit, ripcord, outer shell) and that each set includes 5 cards... $5 game tools + 23 pieces = $10 Ninjago spinner. $5 game tools + 94 pieces = $15 LoC Speedor Yes the price is big, but at least it's consistent, unlike Lennox's buggy, etc, etc. Edited December 21, 2012 by Penkid11 Quote
Wardancer Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 The queen looks nice. I guess she will be in the biggest set? I don't like that they use "Chi" as energy source, although it makes sense when the theme is called Chima. Chi is a concept used in many western esoteric teachings so it kind of violates the fictionality and playfulness of a lego theme. Monster fighters at least had the "moon stones". Are there really no better ideas that sources of some spiritual or natural energy. I feel this has been overdone since the New Age. I don't have strong religious objections, I just think creativity could go beyond that. Use the force! Quote
CM4Sci Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 The Brick Show has somehow gotten a hold of Wakz's Pack Tracker: (I've said it before, and I'll say it again, but they have been seriously spending too much on these just to be the first to review them...) -Sci Quote

JamesBenjamin Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 I have a co-worker who works part time at my local Lego store, he was assigned to take home the blue eagle set and build it, and he brought it into our work (normal office job) yesterday. I must say, I'm quite impressed with the build, and all the new parts. There was a bladed weapon with a light saber blade inside it that was especially nifty, and that new 2x2 "reverse" tile (flat tile with studs sitcking out of the bottom) with what looked like engine glowy parts printed on it. Needless to say, I'm really excited for this theme. Quote
