Aanchir Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 A typical $10 Lego set is between 90 to 110 pieces. Now putting into account that between 20 to 30 piece sets are about $5 if not a tad more, one can assume that, in the Ninjago's spinners' case, the spinner and cards are the other $5. Being that the Speedorz are about the same size as the spinners (Wheel unit, ripcord, outer shell) and that each set includes 5 cards... $5 game tools + 23 pieces = $10 Ninjago spinner. $5 game tools + 94 pieces = $15 LoC Speedor Yes the price is big, but at least it's consistent, unlike Lennox's buggy, etc, etc. I don't see what's wrong with the price of Lennox's Lion Attack. It's 230 pieces for $25. Given the largish wheels and tires I'd say that seems more or less fair. I've never been a real believer in the magic 10¢ per piece ratio, especially since price-per-piece is a poor measure of value in many cases to begin with. But this is still less than 11 cents per piece/more than 9 pieces per dollar. Quote
Jackattack7 Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Oops forgot to say, my Aunty picked up Razcal's glider today and it should arrive after christmas as she is sending it tomorrow. Also I have to pick up a new camera because I want to review it. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Gosh darn it, none local here yet! Been eyeing up reduced in price Monster Fighters and Ninja Go. Counting out my change tubs soon (Under 10p? into the box with ye!) and will treat myself to something with that. Quote
Jackattack7 Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 The sets are now for pre-order on amazon.de : http://www.amazon.de/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?__mk_de_DE=%C3%85M%C3%85Z%C3%95%C3%91&url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=legends%20of%20chima&sprefix=legends+of+chima%2Caps&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Alegends%20of%20chima Quote
TheBoyWonder Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 In my eyes Chima has one problem, the same as Ninjago, the vehicle heavy sets. Quote
Jackattack7 Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 In my eyes Chima has one problem, the same as Ninjago, the vehicle heavy sets. I agree, they need to do bases. Maybe that's why in the summer they are bringing out Croc Swap Hideout, Lion Chi Temple and Worriz' Combat Lair. But still the vehicles look amazing. Quote
Kez Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 They have the chima sets at most entertainer toy stores in the UK, also a bit off topic they have series 9 figures at most entertainer toy stores aswell. Quote

Jackattack7 Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 (edited) THIS ONE IS IN ANOTHER LANGUAGE (NOT ENGLISH.) IN FRENCH IN FRENCH Edited December 21, 2012 by Jackattack7 Quote
DraikNova Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Wait, Worriz Combat Lair? I didn't hear anything about that. A wolf cave for our favorite doggy, huh . Anyway, seeing as Ninjago's out here but not Chima, I wonder if they are planning to wait a while before releasing in some places, to clear Ninjago off the shelves. Quote
Kez Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 If the entertainer doesn't have them, toys r us might have them, see this article http://www.bricksetforum.com/discussion/8405/legends-of-chima-at-tru#latest Quote
just2good Posted December 22, 2012 Author Posted December 22, 2012 Brickshow made a review of the Croc Command Ship! Quote
_shaddow_ Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Ha ha, I wanted to post my live construction videos here, but it seems somebody already beat me to it. Lennox' vehicle is very well thought out, and I had so much fun building it. But you know what ? Eris's eagle interceptor is even better. The construction will be uploaded tomorrow during the day. A bit off topic, but I'll be able to get Kai's Fire Mech tomorrow and I'll upload the video most likely Sunday or Monday. Quote
Jargo Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 I can't watch these video reviews anymore. they drive me nuts. so much waffle. give me a photo based review any day. clearer detail and I don't have to listen to some egotist blathering on. Quote
Meiko Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 I would love to watch the Croc Boat review, but I just can't stand The Brick Show. I'll be checking some local stores soon for Chima though! Quote
PenPlays Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Please report your findings Meiko (if any for LoC and Ninjago)! Have I ever mentioned that I love the "civil war" idea in this series. It makes it look really, really good! Quote
KurttKrueger Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Managed to pick up a couple of Chima sets over the last two days. Really loving the models and the minifigs. Also trying to get my head around the Speedorz game. Doesn't quite seem as straightforward as Ninjago, although on paper looks more fun to play. The Speedorz themselves work really well, and are really fast. Unfortunately, the Lego ramps aren't very good, and don't work to well. Quote
Kai NRG Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 (edited) Crominus has bushy white eyebrows? Oh well. He looked worse than I had thought he was. ...The Speedorz themselves work really well, and are really fast. Unfortunately, the Lego ramps aren't very good, and don't work to well. Are you playing with a studded ramp? Yeah, I can see how that wouldn't work well, but maybe if you changed to this piece? Of course that doesn't go quite as high... and I don't have any Speedorz so I'm just spouting things off... but I believe that piece is included in a few of the Speedorz sets. So since the ramps don't work that well, I guess the challenges like the "Jungle Gates" would be easier? Edited December 22, 2012 by Kai NRG Quote
DraikNova Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Ugh, I´m getting really sick of these videos. They always sell the actual set short and you are forced to listen to the maker´s annoying voice for explanation. Quote
Prominence Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Yeah, most "famous" reviewers don't even bother to read about the stories and they can't even put the mask on straight, but in the end they still give high ratings to the set. Also, it seems like some of those crocs suffer from the same problem as some of the orcs. You can see their teeth even with the croc mask on. Quote
Shakar Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Crominus has bushy white eyebrows? Oh well. He looked worse than I had thought he was. Hey, I like them! They make look him look old and stuff. A reptile with bushy eybrows doesn't make much sense, but he's an evil old Crocodile king afterall. Cragger's head is my favourite, though. The scarred, damaged left part of the head makes him look very evil and cool. Crooler..ew! You're not an adorable Croc girl, that mouth of yours is rather creepy. I'll keep Eris, thank you very much. Rawzom looks better IRL than I thought. He looks very evil and demented. Eris's Interceptor looks great. I might pick it up afterall. Quote
Kai NRG Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 ...Rawzom looks better IRL than I thought. He looks very evil and demented. ... That one side of his face certainly does look demented. I like the other side way better. He looks great with his mask on. Sure hope he appears in a cheaper set later! Quote
Meiko Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Does anybody know who this Lion is? It'd be awesome if he appeared in a set. Quote
Jackattack7 Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 (edited) Does anybody know who this Lion is? It'd be awesome if he appeared in a set. snip* He's Laval's father (the king lion) he should appear in the lion chi temple. Also another speedorz review, they look really popular already. ALSO LOOK AT THE NAMES OF SOME OF THE CARDS, COULD THEY BE OTHER CROCODILES IN FUTURE WAVES. Edited December 22, 2012 by Jackattack7 Quote
Kai NRG Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 ...ALSO LOOK AT THE NAMES OF SOME OF THE CARDS, COULD THEY BE OTHER CROCODILES IN FUTURE WAVES. No, they're just different view of Crominus. One of the cards says "...mpor Viz", one didn't say anything, the first one said Crominus... and if you look closely they look like it's all him. Quote
