PenPlays Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 One thing I wanted to ask as well, why is it people are assuming the Crocodiles, Ravens are bad guys and the Lions and Eagles are good guys? I have read all the leaflets and the stuff that comes with the sets and it does not seem to say that anywhere. The only thing I could find in a write up about the crocodile ship is that they are allied to the raven faction. It seems to me that lions and eagles can be just as if not on occasion more than fierce and terrible as crocodiles and certainly a lot more than ravens. I just got the image that thy are simply different factions with no clear good or bad guy, just down to individual preference I could have missed it somewhere but have double checked the booklets and information i have to be on the safe side before asking? Well you do have instructions? If it has a character add... the Lions and Eagles are on the blue side, and the rest are on the red side. The backgrounds of their character windows on the front of box sets reflects this as well. Also, bad guys have red Chi weapons, and good guys have blue Chi weapons. Quote

This doesn't really answer his question though. You're just implying that red is bad, blue is good. Where I think he is asking for some written proof from TLG that they are in fact good, Lions, Eagles & Gorillas and bad, Wolves, Ravens & Crocs. Quote
Jargo Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 I hold out hope that when the Gorrilla sets are released, we'll get a gorilla mech inspired by Mark Stafford's attempt to marry Fabuland and Exo-Force: http://www.flickr.co.../in/photostream I think this design could be repurposed pretty much as-is. I would hope without the massive silly ears. *snip* One thing I wanted to ask as well, why is it people are assuming the Crocodiles, Ravens are bad guys and the Lions and Eagles are good guys? *snip* It seems to me that lions and eagles can be just as if not on occasion more than fierce and terrible as crocodiles and certainly a lot more than ravens. One man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter after all. Not that this is in any way as deep or serious an issue. I'm sure you catch my drift though. Quote

PenPlays Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Waiting for these sets to appear on Lego's Shop at Home Site. They are there. Just search for them in the search bar. All say Coming January 1st. (In the US) Quote
Endgame Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 One thing I don't understand about Speedorz: what benefit is there of being the one to complete the challenge first if you both end up flipping a card? Quote
just2good Posted December 30, 2012 Author Posted December 30, 2012 Nice reviews, happy birthday, hope you got all the lego you wanted Thanks Kez! One thing I don't understand about Speedorz: what benefit is there of being the one to complete the challenge first if you both end up flipping a card? I'm not sure, but I think there is also a point bonus. If you look at the Chi Orb in the middle of the card's stats, it shows a plus sign and then a certain two digit number. I'll try playing the game tomorrow, though. Quote
horizon Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 The fact there is no real protagonist will seriously hamper sales I imagine, among the target age. Plus speedorz are more expensive then spinners and those have been considered expensive. But, alas, who am I? Lets see what the real sales will do! Quote
csi304 Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 I was told some walmart in the USA has these already, I been looking for them and have no luck. Wondering if anyone has got them early. Quote

I'm thinking there are definite bad guys and good guys, and the Speedorz actually come with vehicles and extra brick built scenery while the spinners just came with the spinner and a couple weapons. The Speedorz are a much better value IMO. Quote
Sirtank Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 My local Walmart has had them out for a week. I've bought 5 sets from them. I ordered 2 more from Target's website as well. My local Target has some sets in the back, but they wouldn't sell me the Ultra Striker because the box has a January first release date on it. I'm still on the hunt for the Ultra Striker, Eagle's Castle, and the Chi Raider. Quote

I'm not sure, but Laval does get a lot of spotlight. The Lion Clan is obviously the most important good guy group (while the Crocodiles are the main villains), and he seems their prince (prince=hero). Quote
bekindsorewind Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Toys R Us.com now has the sets available. Also, they're listing a new polybag on the site: Leonidas' Jungle Dragster (30253) Quote
Kalhiki Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 I was told some walmart in the USA has these already, I been looking for them and have no luck. Wondering if anyone has got them early. A Walmart in my area had them. Don't think they had Speedorz, though. Picked up Razcal's Glider. What a beauty. If this is the kind of quality in sets they can put out in the first wave, I'm excited what comes next. Kalhiki Quote

Sirtank Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Both Toys R us Stores in my area put the Chima sets out today. Neither had the Eagle's castle though. Quote
CM4Sci Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Target.com has them ready for purchase! I entered my zip code into most sets and all said in stock! Going there soon and getting some. Will report what I find when I get back. -Sci Quote
refriedbeans Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 (edited) Well if Target has them I know what my gift cards are going towards! Edited December 30, 2012 by refriedbeans Quote
PenPlays Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 HUMMMMMMMMMMM...Two more days... HUMMMMMMMMMMMM People, please keep reporting back your findings. If there is any success today, don't be surprised that I won't be responding for some time... Quote
just2good Posted December 30, 2012 Author Posted December 30, 2012 My Toys"R"Us store, which usually sucks at getting new sets, got the Chima sets today! They're already available online, but this is way better than paying for shipping! My local Toys"R"Us is in Coral Springs, Florida. Quote
CM4Sci Posted December 30, 2012 Posted December 30, 2012 Headed to Target expecting Chima sets because the site said they were in stock, came home 2 hours later in utter disappointment. Nothing. Not a single 2013 set. Not a single Chima set. Nothing. I asked 2 members to help me find them, nothing. I sat at Customer Service for 2 hours, waiting for results. I decided "Oh my god. Forget this." and left. Right as I walked out the door, a member came up to me and said "Oh, I was supposed to tell you, those LEGO sets you wanted, we don't have them." Super mad. Can't make it to TRU today. So... -Sci Quote

Those are super useful. Most of them might be in the backroom. Also, a Walmart near me had the Lennox Lion Attack set. All by itself. Just one copy... Quote

Buuuut the gal was being obedient to the "do not shelf until the 1st" But I drove down the street and found it (and ring of fire) from toys r us. Sorry you're having such a hard time. Oh and I got the raven glider, pack tracker, and reptile grabber from walmart friday night. Huzzah for the baddies Quote
