CM4Sci Posted January 26, 2013 Posted January 26, 2013 Well. I didn't go. And I'm furious. -Sci Quote
just2good Posted January 26, 2013 Author Posted January 26, 2013 (edited) I went, no promo sets, but there was a promo poster, points thingy, and a show people. I was so out of place. I'm not even a kid, and I was like four to five feet taller than everyone else. It was fun though. I met a kid who recognized who I was from my voice from my videos! Meiko Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 I went. I'm not so good with Speedorz though. Kid walked up to me and said "Hey Meiko!" Not necessarily as cool as your story, just2good, because I've "met" this kid before in my local mall, so he remembered me better than I remembered him. Quote
PenPlays Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 (edited) Finished my winter Speedorz Collection!! Got Boulder Bowling and CHI Waterfall today, along with Razcal's Glider and another 4 CMFs (I get them buy 3 get one free so why not). I will have another installment of Mini Susan's Reviews later tonight. Confused? In the Guild's of Historica subforum, I nicknamed Legonardo Susan Jr. (after he as well as Zcerberus were called Susan which made it confusing) So Legonardo decided that I needed a nickname myself. I then thought "Bow before Mini Susan!" I am now called Mini Susan, or just Mini, by my fellow Guildies. So generally I thought, since I do mini reviews for the Action Themes, I might as well call them Mini Susan's Reviews. So stay tuned for Mini Susan's Reviews! Ninjinxy Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Went to the Chima Challenge. It was fun to play and I even got a free poster of Cragger! Quote
CM4Sci Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 (edited) Well, I said I didn't go. Well, I didn't. But... I found something that cheered me up! If anyone wants any of the goodies from the Chima site (besides videos, sadly (they aren't the greatest anyway...)) PM me. -Sci Edited January 27, 2013 by CM4S Quote
PenPlays Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 Wait, CM4S, what!?! Do you mean the vault goodies? Quote
Kalhiki Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 The Chi Raider is mine! Hahaha! Ahem. Yeah, I found it. It still needs to be built, but at least I finally got. The one set I was looking forward to the most. Let's hope it doesn't disappoint! Also, I did go to TRU, but I didn't do the Chima Challenge or whatever. We were kind of in a hurry, sadly. PenPlays Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 (edited) Welcome to Mini Susan's Mini Reviews Today I will be mini reviewing CHI Waterfall, Boulder Bowling, and Razcal's Glider. Let's begin with Razcal's Glider. This is my first set set (as apposed to Speedor set) and I must say that it does not disappoint. If you pay full price for this baby, know that you have a serious deal in your hands. The Glider is large enough to be considered a formidable opponent against any of the Eagle vehicles. It's colors are also excellent. Its most notable feature (which is also the best use of a flick-fire missle EVER) is what I like to call the Grappler Turd. Its a chained grabber that comes out from its... Moving on. The placement of Razcal's weapon, The Bulwark, is okay, I guess, but the fact that you have to remove pieces from the glider can be a drawback. Of course, if you remember that Ravens take what they can get, it becomes much more believable that they get their weapons from their downed ships, making the weapon storage much more of a plus. The Minifigure, Razcal is quite... odd looking, but excellent nonetheless. You see one side of his face is a smooth look (or what I like to call his Pedo-face) and the other side, much like the Crocodile Crawley, makes him look like he can see noises. The blood veins help, and make Razcal look like a freak (don't put that head on Laval. Just don't). He does look like a Raven accountant with the smooth face, though, as he should be. The Chi Waterfall is probably the easiest of the Speedorz sets to achieve victory in. You hit a giant red hammer with your Speedor. How easy is that? It is a decent play feature so don't get me wrong, it's fun to watch Leonidas get hammered . The arch way that holds up the hammer, is a pillar on one side, and a pillar with a lion head, spitting out CHI water out of its mouth on the other side. Where the water ends up is beyond me, but the Lion head spitting it out is much, much larger than I expected. It is very detailed, and quite the greebling success. The Speedor itself is a nice orange color, not Lion orangeish yellow, but orange orange, like Leonidas' hair. In fact, I think that is the only reason why it is orange. The Power-up is cool looking, but leave it off when you use the ripcord. It effects the direction your Speedor travels. Leonidas himself is quite interesting. The fact is I think he's been hammered a little too much. He looks hilarious. His character card looks a little odd when you look at it, but then when do some of these Chima Lion cards look good (Laval Valious card, I'm looking at you!)? The set includes the Chi Jabaka and the Katar weapons. The CHI Jabaka is second to Crominus' Grandiorous as the best looking of the Winter Speedorz CHI Weapons. Now, on to Boulder Bowling. The main point of the game is to bowl over a pile of stacked up stones on a pair of planks to get to the CHI Sphere in one of the stones. Well, it's impossible. No matter what formation you set up the boulders in, the CHI will not break out of the boulder it is hidden in. If you don't put the Chi Sphere in, it is still an excellent hazard. Really the only true reason people buy this one is for Crominus, the Crocodile King. He is my second favorite minifigure to Eglor, but to be quite frank, he is pretty much Cragger with a crown. Under the Croc "Helmet" is a bearded Croc face, just as it is in the show. However, the actual "Helmet" does not have a beard on it. This is for the sake of putting the Crown on Cragger without show continuity errors. Still an excellent minifigure, but wait until you put that weapon on. The mighty Grandorious, the CHI Weapon of Crominus has no equal. Solid gold Croc Sword with a ruby on the end. I don't know about you, but it just screams royalty (NOTE: If you are checking the Legends of Chima website to see which weapons I am talking about, you will notice that there is an error for the Grandorious' image. It shows a silver Croc sword, with a red axe head. That is not the one included in Boulder Bowling. You will have to view the set's images to see the correct Grandorious.). The other weapon is called the Krank, and it is just a ball and chain, same as the Gronk that Cragger uses in the Ultimate Speedorz Tournament. His cards are excellent as well. Razcal's Glider: 10/10 First to rate this high, it is perfect in every way, except for it's two instruction manuals (15 pages each. Seriously?) but once again, I digress. CHI Waterfall: 8/10 Good parts pack, nothing too special, but still an interesting little set. Boulder Bowling: 9/10 The only flaw is a rock... It's the main play feature, but it is just as good without it. Oh and it includes Crominus. Thank you for reading! Also, by completing the Winter Speedorz collection, and by knowing who will be in the Speedoz sets throughout the year, you are able to determine the order of cards by character. Here's the list. 1 Laval 2 (Jungle Gates Lennox, or Royal Roost Laval which was also rumored to be Lagravis) 3 Lennox (Eagle Castle) 4 Leonidas 5 Longtooth 6 (Jungle Gates Lennox, or Royal Roost Laval which was also rumored to be Lagravis) 7 Eris 8 Equila 9 Eglor 10 Gorzan 11 Grizzam 12 Cragger 13 Crominus 14 Crug 15 Wakz 16 Worriz 17 Winzar 18 Razar 19 Rawzom 20 & 21 Skinnet and Furty (not official order) Sorry for making you scroll down enough that you would think this would never end. Doctor_ocks Posted January 27, 2013 Posted January 27, 2013 My 5 year old and I have really enjoyed these sets and playing the game. I do wish, however, that the cards were a little bit more integrated into the game. It'd be cool if the cards also allowed you to do things like make your opponent's minifig stand while racing or give you an attachment to your speedor that would enhance it in some way - Ninjago style. Still pretty fun though. Quote
PenPlays Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 After "purchasing" the Croc vehicle concept art from the Chima Vault on Lego.com, one thing is for certain. We NEED Crominus and Crunket's four treaded vehicle from the first episode of the TV series. Quote

PenPlays Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 Any idea which items will be previewed at toy fair coming up in a few weeks? Every set that will not be limited edition being released within the next year. CHI Raider, Ultra Striker, and Eagle Castle might be there, however, being that they are already released (in other words, no Croc Lair). Quote

Still pretty fun though. Yeah, I think one of the weaknesses of the Speedorz gameplay is that the cards and toys are not very well-integrated. That was one of the things I loved about the Ninjago cards which I thought had been lacking in previous LEGO card games-- the cards had a direct influence on how you played with the toys. As it is, the Speedorz and cards are used as two parts of the same game, but they are almost entirely separate "phases", which to me ends up feeling about as disjointed as chess boxing. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 So I've only been following this briefly. I know it has been confirmed now, but since I don't have television, I still don't know how it is pronounced. I assume chee-ma not ky-ma, but I can't help but say ky-ma when I see it. Thanks for the input. Quote
Jargo Posted January 28, 2013 Posted January 28, 2013 (edited) Cheeeeee-mah Cheeeeee-mah. Think Chinese 'Qi' (Chi), not Greek 'Chimera'. Edited January 29, 2013 by Jargo Quote
Ninjinxy Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Aww, I am hoping that they will preview the croc lair soon. I am so looking forward to it! Quote
PenPlays Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 First sign of the Croc lair would have to be official images sometime between late May-early June, being that it is an exclusive. Quote
DraikNova Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Let's hope it'll be leaked before that somehow. Quote
Ninjinxy Posted January 29, 2013 Posted January 29, 2013 Thanks for letting me know. Here's hopin! Quote
