Hate to be a bummer, but I meant late May- early July (as opposed to June). Usually the exclusives are saved for the secondary release of each half-year wave of sets. Let's use the Eagle Castle for example. It was not discovered until mid-December. It was going to be released with the rest of Chima only 2 1/2 weeks later. Expect the same for the Croc Lair.

Well, gives me time to get off and buy something. I spent my month's LEGO budget on clearance sets and keeping an eye on the local toyshop for further reductions...

It seems distrabution here in SWales is more than a little poor so Chima is on the backburner for me.

Don't lose too much hope. There is a chance that Lego changed their policy at the Toy Fairs. If anything, we will at least get in-the-flesh pictures of the sets that aren't exclusives when the Nurenburg Toy Fair arrives. Sometime this weekend I believe, actually.

They did change their policy, slightly. Last year at New York Toy Fair some store exclusives were shown, but mostly just ones from licensed themes. But it's possible that they'll be considering Chima a big enough deal to give it that honor as well.

Fingers crossed then.

Will you be providing coverage again this year?

I've seen more promotional stuff for Chima (the same amount of space Ninjago and Star Wars occupied TOGETHER last year) here than I have for any other theme.

No, unfortunately I'm back in college now and so my schedule is too tight for me to really plan a weekend trip to New York. Swert, the general manager of BS01 who provided me with my invite last year, is instead offering it to a BZPower staff member. This year, TLG is only sending one invite to every fansite, so since BS01 has nobody to represent them Swert decided it would be better to let two BZPower staff attend, in hopes of more thorough coverage.

I imagine there will be no shortage of coverage of New York Toy Fair, so I don't think there's anything to worry about on that front. It may not be as thorough and wordy as mine was, but as a result it probably won't be nearly as delayed as mine was.

I think it's a "no photos allowed" type show. They don't let the public take photos until New York.

The Toy Fair in the UK is the only one where no pictures are allowed to be taken. Only a couple photos have hit the Internet so far, but none of them belong to action themes besides the Cragger, Laval, and Eris busts.

Oooh, I hope so!

Wow, that mech looks great! The Gorilla tribe looks awesome! Will definitely look for the price of this set. Chima is looking up and could well be a great success. I also love those berry catapults!

I don't think much of the mech. It's quite messy looking and the brown looks off next to the black and blue. The hoses and the banana ammo belt sticking out like they do looks like they'd trip the thing up or get caught on trees and bring it crashing down. The minifigs are cool but the mech is meh.

WOW! The Mech is SO much different than I thought it would. If this set is indeed $50 here in the US, I think I'll have to wait for a sale. But the most important thing to notice... LOOK AT THE NEW GORILLA WEAPONS!! :oh3::moar:

Aye. The aesthetics of that thing aren't appealing at all. Disappointing, because I was looking forward to this set.

I actually like the inclusion of the brown as, if you look at the "face" of the mech (which is where a lot of the brown bricks can be found), it bears some resemblance to the face of an actual gorilla. I knew that I was probably going to get this set anyways, but this makes the purchase of it a certainty.

I like the monkey mech. The legs look a bit...static maybe? But others than that its cool enough. The use of the engine parts for the nostrils is very nice.
