just2good Posted February 8, 2013 Author Posted February 8, 2013 Which three were available? I imagine whichever three were available in the US will be available in the UK in the upcoming (according to Brickset) LEGO promotion in the Sun newspaper. Ewar's Acro Fighter (LEGO Store), Leonnidas' Jungle Dragster (Toys"R"Us), and Winzar's Pack Patrol (Target). Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Ewar's Acro Fighter (LEGO Store), Leonnidas' Jungle Dragster (Toys"R"Us), and Winzar's Pack Patrol (Target). Well two of those will be available in the next Sun newspaper promotion ( Ewar's Acro Fighter won't be as it is a LEGO S@H exclusive). This leaves me with one question: what will the other Chima polybag be? Quote

There are 3 other Chima polybags: Razcal's Double Crosser (Razcal in small buggy) Crug's swamp Jet (Crug in small boat) Crawley (Crawley with gun) Quote
krystalKING Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I have a question, has anyone found pictures of the Chima board game? I've been looking, but I can't seem to find any pictures of it. Quote
DraikNova Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 (edited) There's one very blurry picture at most ten pages back. Might have been deleted though. Otherwise, go back to the flickr streams showing preliminary photos and look through them. They might be there. Edited February 8, 2013 by DraikNova Quote
Combee Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 This source says that the Lion Temple will be $120, seems a bit much no? LEGO Legends of CHIMA is a new original property that combines the fun of building with role play, social competitive play and digital and video game play. Builders compete via heroic animal characters, such as a lion, gorilla or crocodile, to obtain the power of CHI. The collection includes new Speedorz challenges, featuring a flywheel vehicle, ripcord launcher and buildable obstacles and stunts, in sets such as the CHI Waterfall ($14.99) and Ice Tower ($14.99) for action-packed competitive play. There are also classic building sets like Cragger's Command Ship ($69.99) and The Lion CHI Temple($119.99), six Buildable Action Figures ($14.99 each) and a new LEGO Legends of CHIMAboard game($19.99) which together create the entire fantasy play world of CHIMA. Digital games and an original television series will launch later in the year. Source: http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/02/07/ny-lego-at-toy-fair-idUSnPnNY56310+160+PRN20130207 Quote

Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 The world of Chima is sure getting interesting. Beaver Tribe? Hell yes! Hopefully we see them start to appear in sets in 2014. Quote

jamesster Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 It looks more like a hedge hog than a beaver to me. Hedgehogs don't have beaver tails. Quote
Tobias_Jay Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 Beavers?!? Seriously? This is getting ridiculous. This brings the grand total of tribes to 11. Beavers aren't generally the first animal I think of when you think "animals at war". Why aren't there any Tigers or Elephants? My main problem with the Beavers is their headpiece looks like it restricts movement which I find disappointing. I will probably like them better later when they are released as figures. But all I am thinking is "what's next, Penguins?". Quote
Speedza-Demon Posted February 8, 2013 Posted February 8, 2013 I'm starting to think that some of the animals might not actually belong to a tribe and are essentially loners. You think we would have seen another Skunk or Fox by now, so I think they might just be standalone characters honestly. Quote

I agree, there doesn't seem to be a skunk tribe or a fox tribe, like you mentioned, and I doubt there will be a Rhino tribe either. After all, if someone does want a whole bunch of those animals, they can army build them, and it would really be hard on collectors to have 11+ tribes with 4+ figs each! Quote

The preview for the next episode of the T.V show showed more Rhinos behind Rhogon(?) so I think it is safe to assume there will be a full Rhino tribe. I also think there will be full tribes of Skunks and Foxes, but they don't side with anyone, I think they will be neutral tribes. Edited February 9, 2013 by Wall E2624 Quote
PenPlays Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 (edited) A teaser for the 4D LEGOLAND thingy. Pause about 12 seconds in... Beavers? It wasn't the beavers that really caught my eye. It was the kids that were aboard the plane chariot thingy. It was Plomar, Skinnet, Furty, G'loona, and an (as of yet) unnamed wolf! I wonder why the decision was made to make Skinnet and Furty taller in the sets, and leave G'loona short. Also if you look behind Cragger and Laval while they race on their Speedorz, you'll see the Eagle Castle (set). Here's hoping the CHI Raider and the Ultra Striker will appear in the show. legolijntje Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 A week ago, I was bored, so I was browsing Brickset (I do that often when I'm bored). The Chima sets came by, and I never really looked at them, because I thought "that's another play theme, I only buy Technic and Exclusives", but when I looked at them, I was like Now, I've fallen in love with the Chima sets. The minifigs are great, the sets look awesome (I really like that the vehicles are animal shaped) and the story is very nice. I've bought 70003 to see if it's really that good... Now, my goal is to buy all the Chima sets It's weird though, I know it are play sets, and I don't play with them, but the sets have something... I don't know what, but it's something that really catched me... I'm keeping an eye on this topic now Quote

just2good Posted February 9, 2013 Author Posted February 9, 2013 This listing showed up on eBay in the US, and it is for the 30254 Razcal's Double Crosser polybag. It is the US edition of the polybag, so I wonder which store they got it from. I'm going to check my local Walmart, as I suspect it is from there, and my local Target, as it is common to see two polybags from the same theme there. Quote
Shakar Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 I finally got my first taste of Chima today, Razcal’s Glider (wasn't there a "Raven" in the middle?). And I love it! I mainly bought it for Razcal (great fig), but the Glider is so much cooler than I thought. Really looks like a proper raven, and kinda looks cute too. Definitely getting Eris's Interceptor now! PenPlays Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 (edited) Toy fair doesn't start until tomorrow. Toy Fair is very much today. People have to get home and upload pictures first. News has been slowly creeping in, but don't expect pictures until later today. This listing showed up on eBay in the US, and it is for the 30254 Razcal's Double Crosser polybag. It is the US edition of the polybag, so I wonder which store they got it from. I'm going to check my local Walmart, as I suspect it is from there, and my local Target, as it is common to see two polybags from the same theme there. You should message the seller. They might be willing to give you the info. Allow me to follow up on this polybag news with my mini reviews on the first three poly sets. Ewar's Acro Fighter was definitely worth it's freebie status, especially from Lego.com and Lego Brand Stores. The build is small and quick (perfect for three-year-olds) and its simple eagle shape is executed nicely enough that you can tell it's an eagle. Out of the three though, it is the worst at looking like the respective animal. Ewar is nothing special if you have Equila. His "helmet" is all that differentiates them both as Equila has light blue feathers on his forehead (not to mention the black rings around the eyeholes), and Ewar has light blue feathers on his side plumes. This was the cheapest way to get Ewar, however. It has been very common for "exclusives" to discontinue earlier than the sets they were released along side of, so if you missed this freebie, and intend to collect all the eagles/the entire theme (of course, not putting into account that the poly might be released again with a promotion or for sale), then it would be good the get Razar's CHI Raider, especially being that Ewar is not present in the Summer sets. Leonidas' Jungle Dragster was the most expensive of the polybags, being that it was released (in the US) at Toys 'R' Us (do not shop there unless you know you can save money! ) It is no larger than the Acro Fighter, but it does much better at looking like an animal, albeit a deformed one. The Lion head is however mostly a dark bley 2x2 jumper plate, and with a view from above you could probably never tell it was a lion. Leonidas is... Leonidas. There isn't too much to say about him as he is the least fanciful looking. He is also available in two of the cheapest sets available at the moment with Crawley's Claw Ripper and CHI Waterfall, not to mention also being available in the most expensive, Cragger's Command Ship. He is the most common Lion to get, and it appears that he will not be included in the summer wave as well. Minifig collectors will save money on this one, but if you can't make it to the store that sells it, there are more sets that should suffice. Now Winzar's Pack Patrol is quite different. It's a sled... in a jungle... who cares. It's my favorite of these three polys. You once again get a deformed animal head as a vehicle, but this one you can clearly tell is a wolf, even with a huge gap on it's "snout." Winzar is very nice. The scars make him look very viscious. however the scars on the "helmet" do not line up with the ones on his head. It should still works fine as it still looks like three complete scars. This is the cheapest way to get Winzar, and runs at the wonderfully cheap price Target always has on their polys. Winzars other appearance at the moment is in Wakz' Pack Tracker, with Ice Tower coming later this Spring. Yet again, Winzar will not be available in the Summer, so minifig collectors take note. Ewar's Acro Fighter: 6/10 Not very creative design for the Eagle shape, okay minifig. Leonidas' Jungle Dragster: 7/10 Nice little car, but really ANOTHER Leonidas. Winzar's Pack Patrol: 9/10 There does seem to be something to be desired from this, but its fantastic nonetheless. Thanks for reading! Edited February 9, 2013 by Penkid11 Quote
