Shakar Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 I feel the need to post here again, just to gush over my Razcal minifigure. He really, really rocks. I've always written some very positive things about LoC minifigs, but now I have one my words hold a much greater value. I think Chima minifigs are gorgeous and that LEGO truly outdid themselves with them. The attention to detail and the sheer amount of personality they show is just amazing. Quote
DJ Bricks Posted February 9, 2013 Posted February 9, 2013 (edited) Toy Fair is very much today. People have to get home and upload pictures first. News has been slowly creeping in, but don't expect pictures until later today. The toy fair isn't until the 10th, which is tommorow, but some people get exclusive looks tonight. And we won't hear anything about Lego until tomorrow. Edited February 9, 2013 by daniel gourhan22 Quote
Peppermint_M Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Updated first post with lots more pictures. Quote
JamesBenjamin Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 http://www.toyark.com/news/toy-fair-59/toy-fair-2013-lego-chima-images-7234/ Tons of pics from Toyark. Haven't looked at the Chima ones, but LotR & Lone ranger had tons of good close up shots. Quote
Lyichir Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 This source says that the Lion Temple will be $120, seems a bit much no? LEGO Legends of CHIMA is a new original property that combines the fun of building with role play, social competitive play and digital and video game play. Builders compete via heroic animal characters, such as a lion, gorilla or crocodile, to obtain the power of CHI. The collection includes new Speedorz challenges, featuring a flywheel vehicle, ripcord launcher and buildable obstacles and stunts, in sets such as the CHI Waterfall ($14.99) and Ice Tower ($14.99) for action-packed competitive play. There are also classic building sets like Cragger's Command Ship ($69.99) and The Lion CHI Temple($119.99), six Buildable Action Figures ($14.99 each) and a new LEGO Legends of CHIMAboard game($19.99) which together create the entire fantasy play world of CHIMA. Digital games and an original television series will launch later in the year. Source: http://www.reuters.c...160 PRN20130207 Actually, I think $120 sounds exactly right for the Lion Chi Temple. Having built most of it on LDD, it's a fairly massive set; at least the same size as the Fire Temple (also $120), if not slightly bigger. And I haven't even built the mid-size croc vehicle that comes with it yet! Quote
DraikNova Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 The new hammer piece seems interesting, and the Gorilla head on the new Speedorz looks great. The weapon Eglor has in the Twin Bike seems rather creative, just like the little heli Razcar uses. The jet form looks more interesting than the bike to me. Also, I wonder if those are chrome 3x3 dishes. The Gorilla mech looks perfect with that blue. And that's a serious NPU of the motorcap pieces for the feet and shoulders. Banana cannon? Hell yeah! The little tree is icing on the cake. I might just get this one. Especially with those awesome fist add-ons and hammer pieces. The Combat Lair's little doggy-trikes look rather nice, but seeing how blank the back of the vehicle and the messiness of the front without the trikes, I'm only getting this one if it gets great reviews. I do like those trans-red weapon pieces though, and the little copter is perfect. Overall though, it's just not worth the money. The Chi Temple, now that's one that's seriously improved. The streams of Chi look great and the path was what was missing to make it look great. The little Croc bike is also great, but I'm going to pass on this one, if only because of it's price (I'm saving up for Galaxy Squad). Quote

Shakar Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Female Gorilla? Look at the flowers on her head. Plus the torso is girly enough. Only the Lions and the Ravens are missing, then all 6 main tribes will include one female (hopefully more in the future). I really want to see a Raven girl! Quote

Yep, that's G'loona, who's been confirmed as a female character. Chima really has a strong sampling of female characters compared to many past story themes, which makes me happy. Wait, hold up hold up hold up. The Lion Chi Temple is over 1200 pieces? Guess that puts an end to any claims that it's overpriced. The transforming function of Eglor's Twin Bike is stellar. The flick-fire trikes on Worriz's Combat Lair are brilliant and I hope they work as well as they seem to. Constraction sets remain impressive despite most being built wrong, but that's a discussion for another topic. Quote

Also, Furty in the TV series. Also, I noticed some great NPU on Gorzan's Gorilla Striker using the Disney-Pixar Cars pieces: http://cdn.toyark.com/news/attach/6/9/DSC08343_1360501515.jpg Quote

DraikNova Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 The new game (http://www.toyark.com/news/toy-fair-59/toy-fair-2013-lego-games-images-7245/) looks pretty awesome. Also great if you want a lot of Chi for a small amount of money. Quote
CM4Sci Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) jamesster linked to that earlier, though he linked to the version from LEGOLAND California's channel and not The Chima Wiki's. Oh. Sorry, everyone. EDIT: Called it! I noticed that the top part of the tail is attached to the neck thing. So the tail is connected by the top, not a big invisible line running down the back holding the tail. -Sci -Sci Edited February 10, 2013 by CM4S Quote
krystalKING Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Wait wait wait, are those Generic eagles, lions, and crocodiles in the board game? Darn, I was hoping for an Eris microfigure. Quote
PenPlays Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I've already voiced my opinions on the Summer sets, so I'll put it this way: Whoever already feels broke, raise your hand! *raises hand* I will say that the Chima Board game looks decent. Glorious parts pack, especially for those aspiring for a full pool of CHI . Did we ever get a price for Worriz Combat Lair? Quote
Speedza-Demon Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) Did anyone else notice that on the Lion Chi Temple's box, Ewald has his name labeled as "Eris"? Was that intentional? Edited February 10, 2013 by Speedza-Demon Quote
just2good Posted February 10, 2013 Author Posted February 10, 2013 Did anyone else notice that on the Lion Chi Temple's box, Ewald has his name labeled as "Eris"? Was that intentional? Yeah, I noticed that and mentioned it in my video coverage of it. I'm guessing it has something to do with a future episode? Quote
PenPlays Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 (edited) No, Ewald has his normal head. Expect that to be updated come Summertime. If not, then let's not be surprised of finding confused children... Anyway. Any new Razcal poly info, just2good? Edited February 10, 2013 by Penkid11 Quote
just2good Posted February 10, 2013 Author Posted February 10, 2013 Anyway. Any new Razcal poly info, just2good? Not yet. I really hope we get some new info soon. Quote
CM4Sci Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Yeah, I noticed that and mentioned it in my video coverage of it. I'm guessing it has something to do with a future episode? Right. I'm kinda shocked FBTB has no photos up at the moment of anything. I really want to see the back of the CHI Temple. It looks really cool from what I've seen.. -Sci Quote
Meiko Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Yeah, I noticed that and mentioned it in my video coverage of it. I'm guessing it has something to do with a future episode? No, it's a flaw with the box. Toy Fair for as long as I can remember has had something wrong with at least one of the boxes. Quote
just2good Posted February 10, 2013 Author Posted February 10, 2013 No, it's a flaw with the box. Toy Fair for as long as I can remember has had something wrong with at least one of the boxes. You're right. I was just really impressed that they barely had any boxes marked preliminary, which is a huge step up from the last four years (as long as I can remember watching the Toy Fair). But, of course, they screwed up on a final box. Quote
