natelite Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Anyway, I don't understand what's the connection between animals and motorbikes? And energy souls... ??? you do know when the modern automobiles were created, they were meant to replace horses, right? that's why the torque power of engines is still measured in hp or horse power. besides, nothing in lego kiddy themes make any sense. what is the connection between ninjago, animals, bikes, dragons, snakes, and skeletons anyway? DraikNova Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 (edited) There all made by LEGO . And most of them cause you a great deal of pain if you step on them. Edited September 13, 2012 by DraikNova Quote
Oky Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Interesting. That fig looks like he will be the king of the feline faction. As pointed out by another fan previously, "Chi" could mean "life force" which makes it meaningful, but not "Chima". "Ma" can be the Chinese pronounciation of either horse, mother, hemp, or scolding, etc., but none of these words make sense when combining with "Chi". I'm sure it's just a made up word like Ninjago: a meaningful word from Eastern culture combined with a random syllable to create a cool-sounding new word. I wouldn't read too much into this. Quote

just2good Posted September 13, 2012 Author Posted September 13, 2012 Well this figure looks better than the preliminary ones. I really like everything but his new head piece. Quote
Aanchir Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Well this figure looks better than the preliminary ones. I really like everything but his new head piece. While I don't have a problem with specially-shaped minifigure heads for non-human characters (and these ones seem pretty nicely designed, with traditional minifigure/animal eyes rather than more cartoony eyes), I kind of agree that the animal heads are one of the things kind of turning me off in this theme. If there is a huge multimedia presence for this theme in 2013 (including, most likely, a TV show), I'm kind of curious how well the faces can be animated to have different expressions, since that's a big part of helping the audience relate to the characters. If Wil Film is doing the series I have no doubt they have the expertise to add life to these characters, but right now, seeing them only as minifigures, I just can't manage to feel the same connection to them as I did to our first glimpses of Ninjago characters. Clone OPatra Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 From the picture on that book, I'm not too sure that it is an entirely moulded head and not a mask over a regular head. The prelim pictures definitely looked like whole heads, but the size of this one makes it look like something possibly over a regular head. Quote
Darkdragon Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Well I dunno about the rest of you, but I'm excited to see the Stephen King's Sleepwalkers mocs next year. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 I was very hesitant about this theme when the descriptions were being released by the few insiders, but now that I see a picture of a proposed figure from Chima, I am more than intrigued. If that is how they will turn out, I will more than likely buy this theme, which is upsetting since I was hoping on saving money next year. The ninjago kimono robes look awesome too. I can't wait to see the other animals and how they turn out. If it is a molded head, that's okay, but if it really is a mask, I'll be all over that. Quote
RaincloudDustbin Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 I'm optimistic about this line although the first pictures have dampened my spirits a little... Quote

Zachattacx Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 HooooooOOOOooooo!!! (I think me, you and uh... someone else? have done it so far. Be proud!) Ok, so now we have seen some very early pictures and a little sign of what the theme is based around, to the point that it's moved over here to Action... I must remind you: As Requested, No Picture Links until further notice, thanks. Recall that these are very early prelims, compare/contrast to others and see what changes occur between that and the final product. Also: This is a thread discussing a new theme, not Eurobricks Policy, TLG policy or anything other than Chima for 2013. There is probably a thread elsewhere to discuss these things. Remember these rules and we'll all be ok! That would be me ,but getting a clearer photo of this Tiger/Cat/Thundercat thing I might begin to like this theme....those bikes though ,but yeah might begin to like this theme........P.s I might as well call Panthro, judging his fear of bats,The villains look like bats. Chols Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 This theme is like, Ninjago meets Roboriders meets Fabuland. AKA, awesome. The first figures look pretty great. Hoping the rest of the characters are just as good. Quote

I always thought what it would be like if you combined all 4 together...and it happened this theme may not be as great as Ninjago, but it is a great second. If the story proves well then it might just be my favorite new theme. Well, we can't really tell if this theme is better than Ninjago since we've only seen like, one set. :b Personally I'm partial to the themes of Chima so I'll probably find myself liking it more than Ninjago, but I'm anticipating more pics. Actually two sets, one being the bike set and the other being that extremely blurred set,but yeah I really shouldn't jump to conclusions yet until more sets are shown and I understand the story of this theme.I too would love to see more photos of these sets. Well there's that, but all I could make out was a vehicle and a red figure. :c I'll just wait until someone with an actual scanner gets a catalog. Quote
Delta 38 Posted September 13, 2012 Posted September 13, 2012 Hmm. The cape-raising piece intrigues me, but it's probably just a slightly-longer cape on top of a shoulder part. I still don't really like the faces of the minifigs. They look a bit too cartoonish to me. I wonder if those crystal parts are actually those moonstone pieces from Monster Fighters? They look kind of similar. Quote
Kai NRG Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 I wonder if those crystal parts are actually those moonstone pieces from Monster Fighters? They look kind of similar. Hmm. . . It actually seemed to me more like they were a totally new type of crystal. Or maybe the older power miners ones. Quote
PenPlays Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Hmm. . . It actually seemed to me more like they were a totally new type of crystal. Or maybe the older power miners ones. Looked like the Power Miners/Rock Raiders crystals to me. Cant wait to see more pictures! Quote
DarthPotato Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 The figure looks okay, but I don't think this theme will convince me enough to buy any sets from it. Quote
Chols Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 (edited) Looked like the Power Miners/Rock Raiders crystals to me. Cant wait to see more pictures! Yeah. It's the same 1 x 1 crystal piece we've had for years. I think it was first used in Aquanauts? That set has them in such a pretty blue color. c: Probably not a new color though. Also cannot wait to see the alleged Hero Factory-like sets for this theme. Edited September 14, 2012 by Chols Quote
Kai NRG Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Also cannot wait to see the alleged Hero Factory-like sets for this theme. I'm hoping the Hero-Factoryish Figures are brick-built (at least partially) more like the old Knights Kingdom figs instead of like Bionicle. And hopefully their faces look good! Quote
vexorian Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 (edited) I hope not. Their only advantage that they used bricks was that when you invitably disassembled them out of being so horrible you could reuse some of the bricks on other things. HF's build system is better for making figures. Edited September 14, 2012 by vexorian Quote
DraikNova Posted September 14, 2012 Posted September 14, 2012 Where are those crystals actually on the sets? Quote
