Spider-Man Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 I guess I can see where you're coming from, however my 7 year old brother can grasp the concept that the female croc (sorry I don't know names) is manipulating Cragger and that he really isn't evil. I think you may be looking to far into it and, to the target age group, those deeper concepts of racism and how all the cros are being portrayed are completely lost. Quote
Good Cragger Fan Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 This is why I hate most media these days, since it seems that they, especially Hollywood, are dumbing things down too much, and it is why I don't like most new shows, including so called "child-friendly" cartoons like Adventure Time and especially Regular Show (I can't stand that show, even though I saw a commercial on it and other Cartoon Network shows that was advertising the new Canadian version of the Cartoon Network channel many times on Teletoon Retro in Canada, and it was poor in quality in terms of the subject manner (seriously, what child will (or should) drink coffee?) and the jokes are bad. Tobias_Jay Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 NO! Really? Yeah it came as a shock to me too! I've always had this thing against the Lion attack. I haven't seen any good images (nor a sale) to entice me to buy it. I will get it eventually, but I have this feeling that if I wait too long, I'll miss it. UGH! I can't make up my mind!! It isn't exactly selling like hot cakes down here so you might have a chance . I don't think it fares well up against sets like Cragger's Command boat or Laval's Royal Fighter, but it is a nice pickup. I am not sure if I am correct but I think it is the only way to get Crug who is a very nice looking figure ( I only just realised his bottom jaw was made of "steel" when I built the figure). Quote

We must live faaar away from each other, I can never find either of the Lion sets at the local Targets. Not to mention that the local Toys R Us has very surprisingly sold all of their Command Ships. The Command Ship is however really easy to find. Of course, the local Lego Store has a backroom production factory, so they never run out of sets that aren't Ninjago... or at least it appears that way. Regarding Crug. He will be available in a Speedorz set in the Fall 2013 wave (please make the Croc shell dark brown, Lego). He is also available in a Polybag set that has yet to become available in the US (I'm hoping Target, during the Easter Season). Speaking of which, I was surprised to find my Walmart holding all of the reported polybags! The Double Crosser needs decorative wings to make it more Raven-y. Also Razcal is not getting a Speedor (all the lackey Ravens have to share with Razar). Rawzom (hallelujah!) is included in Sky Joust. By the way, about that request I made at the bottom of the previous page... Edited March 1, 2013 by Penkid11 Quote
Vindicare Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Why is Crominus is being protrayed as a villain by LEGO having him in front of a red background on the side of the packaging in Cragger's Command Ship and on the back of the Boulder Bowling set's packaging when he has not done anything evil in the Legends of Chima TV series? This really bugs me, as it seems that LEGO is trying to teach childen (and AFOLS) that all Crocodlies in the Chima World are bad and/or evil, which, in my opinon, is discrimination and/or prejudice against one entire animal tribe, or all reptiles for that matter (and don't you get me started on why Cragger is protrayed the same way!)? I'm saying this because in real life not all crocodlies are evil and/or nasty (in fact most are good or nutural at the worst -- they rarely eat people, unless they're threatened or if people disturb their home and/or their offspring), or for that matter, most reptiles are not evil in nature, since they only attack and/or eat humans if they or their homes are threatened, as well as being hungery for food. This seems to me like LEGO is promoting the half-human, half-animal equivilant of racism within the Chima world; and this is especially very bad for children to see these things, since they would think that it is okay to be racist and/or prejudiced against other races and/or ethnic groups, and we already have way too much racism in real life as it is right now. I think you're over thinking this just a wee bit. Let's not point the stupid race finger at LEGO yet again.... Besides, I'm pretty sure of two things among the target audience, depending on the kid, they may(and most likely will) mix it up and maybe make the lions bad or make the crocs and eagles friends. And, I doubt they will see crocs as bad guys and automatically think that the crocs they saw at the zoo are evil animals. Just take a deep breath and relax. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Me and my brother like the Croc and Raven tribes best anyway. Just like I prefer the dragon knights over any lions... It really isn't a big issue. Quote
DraikNova Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 I think Crug is pretty much the Chima equivalent of Nuckal. Hard to get (well, only one set is pretty rare), a prankster and very unique in his category. Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Here in Poland we get Crug polybag in Donald Duck magazine. Great figure, I am sucker for metal-jaw characters, haha. Quote
SonofTheShire Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Speaking of which, I was surprised to find my Walmart holding all of the reported polybags! I picked myself up the Razcal one, and like always, I reviewed it! Definitely not the best video review from me, but I was having technical problems whilst editing. For those not into video reviews, quick sum up: the vehicle is absolute garbage, and the figure and inverted brackets are the only cool thing about the set. Aww, I wouldn't say that. It looks half-decent to me. Quote

I hope you don't mind the quote mining, but I only wanted to reply to this part since most of the rest has been taken care of. Crominus is given a red background and grouped with the villains because the show is based off of the sets, not the other way around. Quote

You know, you can't apply human moral codes into real-life animals. Animals aren't good or evil, they just follow their natural instincts. Crocodiles are carnivores, so when they are hungry, they eat whatever piece of meat comes to their waters, without thinking if that piece of meat "deserved it". I do agree that the show should not portray all members of a certain tribe as purely good or evil, but not because "they're not like that in nature". It's the characters that fall in-between good and evil that are usually the most interesting, after all. Quote
just2good Posted March 1, 2013 Author Posted March 1, 2013 Also Razcal is not getting a Speedor (all the lackey Ravens have to share with Razar). Rawzom (hallelujah!) is included in Sky Joust. Thank the lord! I've been wanting some new Speedorz figures! Quote

Even more so, they can't afford thinking about it because they'd starve otherwise. Back on-topic, I think the only Chima set I might be getting this year is the Gorilla Mech. Quote
CM4Sci Posted March 1, 2013 Posted March 1, 2013 Picked up CHI Waterfall today. Really fun! Review should be up by later tonight. -Sci Quote

Crocodiles are carnivores, so when they are hungry, they eat whatever piece of meat comes to their waters, without thinking if that piece of meat "deserved it". Seems to me, that if you can make animals talk and do the things humans do, which you can't (Ha, ha), you can "apply human moral code" into them. And, as for Crocs being carnivorous, so are lions and, for that reason, eagles. I think it would be better if the eagles were more, lets say, aggressive. Quote

CM4Sci Posted March 2, 2013 Posted March 2, 2013 And my bad luck continues! Luckily, it wasn't my dog. But... I was showing my friend the CHI Waterfall, on her kitchen counter. I ripped the cord, let the Speedor go, and it went off the counter. So did her brand new iPhone 5. Screen wasn't cracked, but there's a big line going down the side. -Sci Quote

About that dog of yours that loves your Chima stuff, have you considered getting a shock collar? Edited March 3, 2013 by Penkid11 Quote
DraikNova Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 (edited) Shock collars are rather cruel. Edited March 3, 2013 by DraikNova Quote
PenPlays Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Shock collars are rather cruel. So does spanking a child with a rod, yet parents still use it for correctional purposes (when it isn't for correcting, then it's child cruelty). If your dog had a problem with running away, wouldn't you want it to stay contained without having to fence the pooch in? Back on track. I've noticed that out of all the stores I've been to recently that have the Spring Speedorz, Toys R Us is the o Lu store that had Ice Tower in stock. Every other store has been well stocked on the other two. Is this set selling better than what would normally be thought? Quote
Peppermint_M Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Uh, this is about LEGO Chima, not how terribly you treat your LEGO and thus what occurs... Or a debate on the ethics of discipline. Thanks. Quote
DraikNova Posted March 3, 2013 Posted March 3, 2013 Anyway, is anyone wondering what the Croc base (whatever it's called) looks like? I doubt we'll get anything near the massive structure in the show and even just the big Croc head seems improbable. Quote
