xxlrocka Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 I actually think that the Bear Tribe is neutral, and they will fight anybody regardless of whether they are good or bad. Also, I think they do it because people might disturb their sleep. Quote
PenPlays Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 (edited) Jungle Gates is definitely for the younger part of the FOL chain. The set is very simple when you just place the Gate Hazardz directly in front of each other. More of a challenge, however comes when you angle one of the gates (or both) so that it is just barely wide enough to fit the Speedor. Allow me to show you this cheap diagram: Speedor---> \ / (or / /,\ \,/ \) When compared to the Nest Dive, this set balances the unbalanced difficulty level of the Spring Wave of Speedorz. The set includes your average Lennox with a silver CHI Epaulet. The Speedor is the exact same one as the one in Eagles Castle (the same is for Winzar in Ice Tower, although Worriz is in the Eagles Castle). The Power-up is a pair of wheels. Not only is this best of the power-upz, it is the only one that balances the Speedor AND sustains the Speedorz speed. The CHI weapon included is the Decalus. It is one of the better CHI Weapons, as it is not included in multiple sets, and doesn't consist of common bricks, the chainsaw being the rarest. The other normal weapon is a silver Jabaka. A note for the card collectors: THIS SET INCLUDES A DIFFERENT LENNOX DECK THAN IN THE EAGLE'S CASTLE. This set's hazardz are the only Speedorz sets that can be added to ANY Speedorz track without affecting the outcome. It is very decorative as well. Eris' Eagle Interceptor is the poster child for many Chima adds, and it is no wonder why that is. The set is literally and Eagle. It is executed perfectly. The Interceptor itself has flick-fire missiles, as is typical in these times. The set's thruster feet are a nice feature and give a good reason for the legs being bulky. The wings are on ball joints so the are very poseable. The back is called a jail cell. However, it looks like there are vital components within, so the intelligence behind that is beyond me. The escape pod is the head and features little thrusters on the back, making it very obvious during construction. The set also includes a Raven vehicle, that with very few pieces, captures the Raven look nicely. Eris, who is obviously included, comes equipped with the Eglaxxor, the Royal CHI weapon of the Eagles. Razar is equipped with Vengjacked (a jacked [stolen] Vengious Croc sword ) , and Rizzo is equipped with the Bazooklaw, a mighty energy cannon. This set is Eris' only set in the Winter wave, and will be included in Sky Joust with her Speedor, and Worriz' Combat Lair this Summer. Razar is much more common, being that he had a very appealing Speedorz set, and is included in all but two sets that include a Raven (those two being Razcal's Glider and Eglor's Twin Bike respectively. This does not include Speedorz). Rizzo is always at the right hand of Razar, as he is included in the exact same sets. This completes my Eagle Tribe. There will be a "family" photo to come. Equila's Ultra Striker is a sight to see! From the box, it looks a little small and a tad thin on the treads. Lies! All lies! This thing is a juggernaut! It is chunky and leaves no question of why it is called the Ultra Striker. The set has two spring loaded cannons on the "wings" of the tank. There are hinged plates beneath the wings that can be raised up to support the heavy wings when opened up into attack position. The cockpit in this set is an escape pod as well. When removed the Ultra Striker as a whole loses some mass being the the pod is large, even more so than the Eagle Interceptor's. The escape pod is pinned into the main chassis and is released by an axle protruding from the back of the vehicle. Due to there being three pins, clutch power is strong, and makes the escape pod harder to eject. It is apparent that each Eagle vehicle must include a hint of red, which sadly is adorned on each of the primary features of the set in the form of ball joint tops, making them evident from the get-go. The set includes good ol' Tequi... *ahem*... Equila who is the most common of the Eagles. He is equipped with the Royal Valious of Unity, a twin to Laval's sword, used as a pact between the Eagles and Lions to insure they will remain loyal. Eglor is included with his typical normal weapon, a silver Jabaka. This is one of Eglor's two sets outside of the Speedorz subline, the other being Eglor's Twin Bike. Wilhurt who is a Winter Wave exclusive to this set (he will be included in Worriz' Combat Lair this Summer, a set that is not a store exclusive, making him more common) and is equipped with the Jahakastaff, a long handled, black battle axe. This set is flawless. Jungle Gates 7/10 More to be desired but passes the test. To many re-used portions, however. Eris' Eagle Interceptor 9/10 That "Jail Cell" really bugs me. It does hold a CHI crystal within, so you would have thought it should have included more CHI to make it a storage area, or maybe a pair of handcuffs to make it seem a more beliveable jail cell. Equila's Ultra Striker 10/10 Who cares about red ball joints. Get this set now! You are missing on one of the best sets offered this year! It is a store exclusive, so it will retire earlier than the rest of the Winter wave! Thanks for reading my mini-reviews. Edited March 17, 2013 by Penkid11 Quote
CM4Sci Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Still nothing about the Croc Hideout, eh? -Sci Quote
DraikNova Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 Nope, expect to wait at least a month before hearing anything about that. Quote
PenPlays Posted March 21, 2013 Posted March 21, 2013 Managed to acquire Laval's Royal Fighter and Cragger's Command Ship on sale today at the local Fred Meyer's. After sales were subtracted I got the Command Ship for $7 off... and the Royal Fighter FOR FREE!!! Mini Reviews will be up before the weekend ends. Quote
CM4Sci Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 (edited) Found a video of the 4D Experience film. Acting for Laval and Cragger was horrid. Some new characters: This appears to be Windra, but she's white and looks different. But that does look like a bra strap... DraikNova Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 That bear looks interesting. I wonder when we'll see the bears in sets. Quote
Lord Rahl of Clannad Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 That bear looks interesting. I wonder when we'll see the bears in sets. I would hope for us to see them in the 2014 winter wave, but I do not know for sure. Heck, we may not get them at all (though I really hope that we do). Quote
PenPlays Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 So you watch the video CM4S, and you don't provide a link? Still haven't finished Cragger's Command Ship, but one thing is for sure, the Minifigures are some of the best (particularly Crooler and Rawzom). Quote
Aethersprite Posted March 22, 2013 Posted March 22, 2013 Haven't been following Chima much lately, but has a release date for the full-length show been announced? Quote

Beavers/Porcupines/Hedgehogs: New Bear: -Sci Is the new, female wolf a bad character or a good character? Are the Porcupines/Hedgehogs/Beavers good characters or bad characters? Are the Bears good characters or bad characters? Are Cragger, Crominus and Crunket good characters or bad characters or both of them (which character is allied with whom)? Finally, could you please provide a link to the video, as I probably won't get to go to LEGOLAND in time before they stop showing the video? Edited March 25, 2013 by Good Cragger Fan Quote
Good Cragger Fan Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 (edited) I thank you for posting that link to the video, "CM4S"! I enjoyed it! Here is an edit: Who is the Wolf child's name? It is very interesting to see a good Wolf tribe member, so could it be that every tribe has both good and bad characters? I'd love to see some good crocodile tribe members! DraikNova Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 You should also post that in the show topic. Anyway, thanks! Quote
PenPlays Posted March 25, 2013 Posted March 25, 2013 (edited) It's nice to see that, unlike Ninjago, they're using the "exclusive" sets in the show (at least in the 4D experience). Also it is interesting to note that most of the hazardz that were on the Speedor track were representations of the official Speedorz sets, Jungle Gates and Ring of Fire, just to name two. It is also interesting to see that the Chi Temple isn't the entire walling and fortress. Its just the fortress attached to the mountain below Mt. Cavora, with the area beyond it being more of a village/market just behind the walls. Different Chima subject: Returned to the local Fred Meyer's to pick up Lennox' Lion Attack as well. I'm sorry for ever doubting this set. Very much better than the Royal Fighter. Edited March 25, 2013 by Penkid11 Quote

Very much better than the Royal Fighter. Yeah it is a really nice vehicle, but better than the Royal Fighter? That is a set that I was considering buying. Hope it is still a good set. Looks really good in the pictures. Quote

Looks really good in the pictures. Oh yes! The Lion attack has girth, where as the Royal Fighter is four treads, a gun, a giant lion head and to side armor thingies. It is completely hollow and SO NOT worth $40 USD (lucky for me it was free!) Quote

It is completely hollow and SO NOT worth $40 USD (lucky for me it was free!) Oh wow, it sounds a lot worse than my imagination thought it was. Lucky I bought the Ultimate Speedor Tournament so I have Laval (and Cragger as a bonus). Guess I am going to have to find another way to get Longtooth. By the way, not sure if someone has already said this, but for those in Australia who want it, the Eagle's Castle is starting to appear in Toys R' Us. The cost is $59.99, obviously this one is victim to the Toys R Us markup . Not sure if i'll buy this or Razar's CHI Raider but Equila's Ultra Striker is definitely on my maybe list. Has anyone got any clue where Equila's Ultra Striker is exclusive to? Quote
Spider-Man Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 The Croc command ship is on Amazon for 15% off and says free shipping, but I didn't really look into it too much to see if that free shipping part was true or not. Quote

I also highly suggest the Ultra Striker, it is everything the Royal Fighter should have been. Okay, maybe it's time to take a break from these sales... I just bought Razar's CHI Raider at the Local Lego Store for double VIP points. I then spent the $5 to bring down the price of Ice Tower which was already 20% off. That leaves me with Crawley's Claw Ripper, and Wakz' Pack Tracker until this summer! ALL LEGENDS OF CHIMA SPEEDORZ ARE 20% OFF ON LEGO SHOP@HOME!! In the US. Double VIP Points for VIP members until April 8th. Quote
Kadabra Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Personally, I only need Nest Dive, Jungle Gates, and Eagle Castle to complete my winter/spring collection... Reluctant to face TRU markups for the castle, but my eyes are open for the other two. Any sightings at Target/Wal-Mrt in Southern California? Quote
just2good Posted March 26, 2013 Author Posted March 26, 2013 I'm hoping this 20% discount isn't due to little sales. I want to see Speedor sets in 2014! Quote

The only deals that you actually can save on come from the Lego Store during the Double VIP Points period(s), with a building event certificate (usually gives a small discount/really rare), or with a 10% off one item coupon from the back of the magazines. Being that the Eagle's Castle is a TRU exclusive, even Lego Shop@Home at full price, with shipping, and tax is a better deal! It's a really nice set by the way. I'm hoping this 20% discount isn't due to little sales. I want to see Speedor sets in 2014! There was a brief discussion on this on Brickset. Let's put it this way, if you had excess stock, wouldn't you want to use that excess to promote your toy even more? Besides, these sales will probably only last through the Double VIP Point period, being that Shop@Home traffic greatly increases during these deals. Might I also add that, sales for Speedorz will increase dramatically for the next month after the LoC Triplesode airing tomorrow. It should then slowly die down until the series airs weekly. At that point they will sell even faster than ever before (especially in the case of Lagravis' Speedor). Edited March 27, 2013 by Penkid11 Quote

I only saw the Lloyd ZX spinner ONCE before it was gone (lucky I was smart and bought it then). I really hope that I actually get too see it on the shelves. I want Lagravis too much!
