I have to ask how many people actually read my mini-reviews. I have load (6) to write, and I don't want to write any if no one is interested. (I won't be offended if you are honest .)

That's a lot of Chi. Anyway, I've been thinking of picking up a Speedorz to get one of these new sword pieces. How good for MOCcing would you say they (the swords) are?

Posted (edited)

OOH! That's the first time we've seen Crug's Speedor!

Where did you get these pics CM4S?

These sales are breaking me!

Just picked up Wakz pack Tracker from Barnes and Nobles with their BOGO 50% off deal (got the Galaxy Squad Warp Stinger to get the best out of it).

This will delay the reviews yet again, but when they do come back, make sure you have yourselves quite a bit of time on your hands.

Speedorz 3 are for June (so May release), Speedorz 4 are for September (so August release).

Which Speeedorz are in June and which ones are Spetember?

Skinnette ( ), Lagraivas, and Gorzan are June; Furty, [white gorilla], and Crug are September.

Lagravis in June! Excellent. BTW the white gorilla is Grizzam.

I know, it's great! The June wave is kinda like the more prominent characters, while the September is all of the secondary ones. Oh, and Sky Joust is the June wave, too.

So remember that one time where I said you will need to set some time aside to read my reviews. The time is now. I will be reviewing going from smallest to largest in regards to set size.

Razcal's Double Crosser is just like any other polybag set. It is small, featureless, and only contains about 20 other parts besides the minifigure. This, sadly, is the Ravens' only ground vehicle and is nowhere near the size of the Ultra Striker. Even more sad is that there will not be another ground vehicle for them this year, so their prospects of ruling the land and the air look grim. Razcal is obviously included in the set which says nothing, being that he is included in the cheapest Legends of Chima Set currently available. He is also unequipped in the occasion of someone totaling this little 4x4. I will be grading this below as a polybag should, not of that of an actual set.

The Ice Tower is possibly the rarer of the Spring Wave of Speedorz sets, being that smaller store chains do not carry it (on the US west coast at least). The set itself is just your average knock-down Speedorz set, but here's the catch, in order to completely knock down the Tower, the Speedor must smash into it at one of the corners. Charging directly at the tower will only remove the ice cup at the top. The set includes Winzar. The Minifig sports some nasty (and blood red, mind you) scars over his left eye. This makes him look much more viscous, especially when compared to wooly, old Wakz. The CHI Weapon included in this set is the CHI Jahak, a black battle ax that looks much more intimidating when compared to Equila's CHI Axcalion. The normal weapon (so to speak) is the Flamious, a torch staff for those of you without the set, or those who aren't checking the Chima site. Winzar rides on the very same Huntor Speedor that Worriz uses in Eagle's Castle (Lennox from the same set shares the same problem with his Speedor set Jungle Gates). The power-up included in this set is a much better version of the chainsaw mechanism that Wakz' had on his Speedor, this one, however, sports two blades and doesn't affect the balance of the Speedor (but still hampers down the speed, like all power-upz, excluding the one in Jungle Gates). Winzar has the typical set of cards, character, Speedor, CHI Weapon, regular weapon, and power-up (as always).

Lennox' Lion Attack is the only lion set currently available that actually has a fully constructed body. Its functions include all terrain suspension, and a very creative way of incorporating a function. It launches disks (2x2 white round tiles) from the mouth of its Lion head using a CHI Powered launcher at its back. It is also interesting to not that the claws that are beside the front wheels are attached to the same axle that the wheels are, yet the claws stay put, held in place by the CHI pipes that run from the sides. The Buggy also sports two blasters with Flick-fire missiles above them. On these cannons are 2x2 inverted tiles in tan which are exclusive to this set. Lennox only has his buggy to defend himself, but Crug is equipped with the Slugga Cannon. Lennox is just your average Lennox whereas Crug sticks out like a sore thumb, even more so when set next to his other tribe members being that he is dark brown and also has a metal jaw bolted to his face.

Wakz's Pack Tracker is unlike any of Chima's ground vehicles. Not only is it the only set of the Wolves currently available, but it also does not require you to open it's mouth by hand. As the massive, spiked wheels move, the jaw of the Wolf head chomps up and down. Although this is an interesting feature that greatly exceeds the Turbo Shredder Skeleton vehicle from Ninjago, it is not as fearsome looking as that of the Skull Truck from the very same faction of the very same theme. You will also be surprised to find some room in the back to fit several, unequipped wolves in the back around the cannon. This set also has a simple crane function, and has a specific location to keep the chain from falling during play, being that the chain does not stay curled up under its own weight. This set also has no stickers whatsoever (that flag is printed)! Included in the set is the only set incarnation of Wakz for the Winter wave, whereas the included Winzar makes his third, and final appearance in this set for the rest of 2013. They each have their own swords, the CHI Weapon the Vengious of Honor (a Croc weapon given as a token of treaty) and a Slizar respectively. Equila is also making his final appearance for the year, and he intends to go out with a bang. The Eglaxxor that he wields is the Royal CHI Weapon of the Eagles, and this one is the real deal, being that it is the only Eglaxxor that does not have a wooden staff, obviously signifying that it is the only one that is not fake, such as the ones that Eris and Ewar are equipped with.

Laval's Royal Fighter is an utter disappointment. It is completely hollow within, and beside the moving jaw on the head (the only girth on the vehicle) you get a pull down computer in the back, and a three gunned cannon that can swivel and move up and down. This set is heavily based on a Technic chassis, and is yet another 2013 vehicle with treads as its "wheels." Besides that you get Laval with his Royal Valious Sword, an unequipped Longtooth, and Crawley with his Swampulsor. The Swampulsor is the best part of the set. The brick-built weapon is the best part of the set! The build is uninteresting, the price is too high, the vehicle is way too spacious (although that can be resolved by placing the Jetskis from Craggers Command Ship just beside the Cannon crank, noses facing the back), and would have been better with some sought-after minifigs (CHI Battles, Ultimate Speedorz Tournament, and Crawley's Claw Ripper are still widely available). You would have wished to be rated as a Polybag, Royal Fighter!

Razar's CHI Raider, what a opposing are you! Although a very oddly built one, this set looks very much like a Raven, and can move very much like one as well (good articulation). There are quite a few unnecessary stickers, and the ring/handle in the back should include a weapons rack. The Raider is only equipped with Flick-fire missiles, and has a very realistically hinged beak. The little shrine included in the set is also quite nice. Razar comes unequipped in this set, and his accomplice Rizzo carries the Grabberatus (pun of Grabber-apperatus). Ewar however is packing the heavy artillery. Not only does he have a faux-Eglaxxor, but he comes equipped with an Eagle stylized Railgun! This is also Ewar's only set if you wish to exclude the Acro Fighter Polybag.

And now for the Winter wave Flagship set (literally). Cragger's Command Ship gives you everything you want in a Command Ship. Life rafts with guns, a hidden flying vehicle in the back, and a jaw that snaps open and closed. Upon "eating" an enemy, the ship drops the enemy into the Jail Cell directly bellow the cockpit. Bellow the Croc flier there is a CHI engine and a storage rack for spears and axes. This set also includes two Lion Jetskis. Lennox leads the way with his Sonic Roarox blaster, with Leonidas slowly trailing behind with the only CHI Crystal included in a set that is not required to power the main vehicle or place on a shrine. At the helm of the ship is Cragger with his massive Vengdualize, his trademark double bladed sword, with his sister, Crooler who stands close behind him, manipulating him for her ways. Crominus stands on deck with his Royal Hakraxx (a jeweled cane with an ax head protruding from it) as he watches the King of the Ravens, Rawzom, as he soars with his Slashersekt (a sythe) in hand. This is one plethora of excellent villain figures, two of which are exclusive to this set for the Winter wave. The boat hull does raise the price of this set by quite a bit, being that the set has very little to build. The hull can float, and can also be fitted with one of the old Lego boat motors.

Razcal's Double Crosser 8/10 It is a worthy polybag

Ice Tower 9/10 It's just that Speedor. This is the only Speedorz set that is actually interesting, yet not frustrating to play with out of the Spring Wave selection.

Lennox' Lion Attack 10/10 Didn't need two instruction booklets but passed with shining colors. I'm sorry for doubting it.

Wakz' Pack Tracker 8/10 It seems to me that it is missing something. It could use some tail lights (no pun intended) to fill the gap between the trunk and the suspension for starters

Laval's Royal Fighter 2/10 "Let's market this crap as the coolest set in the Winter Wave!" :drunk::facepalm:

Razar's CHI Raider 8/10 Fly! Be the Eagle Interceptors formidable opponent. Oh look, it's Ewar with a CHI Railgun and all you have is Flick-Fire missiles...You're Screwed!

Cragger's Command Ship 9/10 Very nice set. A bit spendy, but the Minifigs make this set so much more worth it!

Darn you Penkid!! Now I want to buy the Command Ship! I have to agree, the Lion Attack is well worth the money but two booklets were unnecessary. But I am incredibly disappointed about the Royal Fighter. I was looking forward to it. Ah well.
