I think he just took it apart. There are some great olive pieces in that set.

None of those.

My dog struck again. :sadnew:

EDIT: Looking at the Swamp Hideout, there appears to be some sort of lever/pulley in the back that when pulled, shuts the mouth. Though the box illustrates it simply snaps down, I think there's more to it.

Your dog must be obsessed with Chima!

Thankfully, I've never had that happen. (Unless you count that time with the coffee cup. :look: )

Ehhhhh... I'm not sure about the Croc Hideout. Never really a fan of architecture-based Lego sets (I'm a vehicle person). This added to the fact that it's not that impressive makes it an easy pass.

Looks like I'm just getting the Gorilla Mech out of the summer wave.

This is a warning that I am going into rant mode here:

I say nooooooooooo!!!!!!!! :sing::damn: King Crominus is once again shown with a red background that is behind the minifigure of him on the box art, and he is holding a weapon with a transparent red LEGO piece on it -- which means that he is being protrayed as a VILLIAN again!!!:ugh::enough::cry3: (Furthermore, there is no Crunket (she is as important of a character as Crominus, as she is (or was) the Queen of the Crocodile tribe) or even Cranvil in this set, and there is not quite enough minifigures (where is Laval and/or Longtooth or even LaGravis, in addition to a couple of addtional Crocodile tribe members?)!! :cry3:) I guess that I will consider the entire Crocodile tribe a complete WRITE-OFF (unless Crunket and/or Cranvil show up in a future, unknow LEGO set with a blue background that is behind the minifigures of them, thus implying that they are good characters and not bad characters), so I demand that LEGO make a brand new REPTILE tribe that is on the good side of the war in the land of Chima!!! :sing:

I am going out of rant mode here:

Regardless of what I said above here, I must get this set, as I can never have too many reptilian minifigures, even if they are bad characters, in this case Crocodiles. :grin_wub::wub_drool: Therefore, I will get this set and the Cragger's Command ship set, which would mean the only Crocodile minifigure that I would be missing in my collection in terms of existing Crocodile minifigures from the Legends of Chima theme is Crawley, so I really hope that I can get him in a polybag set, right here in Canada at a brick-and-motar store (there is a polybag with Crawley as the minifigure in it, but am I right about this? :look: ).

Here is an edit: What store is this set an exclusive to, here in Canada and the US? :look: (I sure hope it is Toys'R'Us or Walmart but not Target, as there is no Target stores that are open up now or will be open up soon in my area.)

Good thing that with LEGO you can make the characters whatever you want, good or bad

That would be the case, except for the fact that the expressions on the minifigure heads of Crominus and Cragger, in particular, are too evil looking on both sides for them to not only act the good character part but also look the good character part, and there is no suitable subsitute minifigure Crocodile head, not even from BrickArms or BrickForge! [Don't you get me started on the head mask, torso and leg prints (they look too rogue-ish and evil-looking there to look the good character part)!]

Be creative and imaginative. In real life, there is no such distinction of looking good or evil. In films, people with scars tend to be the bad, immoral characters; is it so in real life? Use minifigures however you wish to. Good guys don't have to be stereotypically smiling and friendly.

It appears that it is in fact you who are slave to the orchid of stereotypes…

Oooh, orchids are pretty!

Well, that set looks....

To be honest? That looks like what I would purchase as a parts pack when it is heavily discounted. While the boat looks amazing and is on my to-buy list this set simply offers a bunch of parts that will be useful to own.

So, any more hi-res pictures to see, oh master of the new images?

The other side of Cragger's face makes him look particularly happy, his good eye is opened and the face on the 'mask' is a smile so with the eye opened makes him look like he did before he was hypnotized.

Interesting that a tribe that can afford golden weapons, armors and helmets for their leaders has to live in such a hole. Croc leaders seem to be in debt because they blew all their money on the croc ship. Fuel costs, insurances, polish for the golden weapons, no wonder their home looks so run down. I guess the other tribes are having a good laugh in their shiny temples now.

Interesting that evil figs are depicted as shabby ones more. Does evil make you poor? Or is it just because crocodiles like to wallow in the mud.

Wow! Those Speedorz look great.

Skinnet looks fantastic as well as Lagravis and Gorzan. Also, if it is of interest, Royal Roost comes with two CHI Weapons (Jeweled Ax and Dagger).

A couple small notes. All of these sets are loop holed with the lack of shoulder armor, and those that need shoulder armor do not have CHI Crystals plugged. Also this would be the first time that a "King" is wearing silver armor (Rawzom) and the first time a king has no armor at all! What gives! Also Sky Joust looks like it only includes 6 CHI Crystals. Rawzom and Eris also have Winter wave Speedorz (Razar's and Equila's respectively). That is another shame. The worst of this bunch, although it appeared so great at first is Sky Joust. It doesn't include pieces up to par with other Speedorz sets. Royal Roost, although it leaves Lagravis' shoulder armor off, is the ticket item here (i.e. the moment you see it, BUY IT!). It is also important to note that none of the ramps included in these set have the rubber Technic bumpers. This will cause the ramps to slide once the Speedor races on it.

In summary: Two are perfect, one is okay but includes a highly sought after character, and one is a complete disappointment. Will this stop me from buying Sky Joust? No, but sometimes things change from the time these pictures are taken, and I'm hoping that there will be some that will change my mind.

Exciting!

EDIT: I've uploaded a lot of alt images of the Speedorz to Brickipedia. All are 4000px+

EDIT 2: Oh, I also picked up Eris's Eagle Interceptor. Really fun set. Might not record a review for a while, it's still snowing here in MN.

I am not usually this observant but usually in the top left corner of the character cards they have the logo of their tribe, for Skinnet he has all 6 of the logos in the top left corner.

That indicates what type of cards they can use. The battle cards (with the names and pictures of speedorz, power-upz, weapons, etc.) will usually have two to four different tribe logos on it, and your character has to have at least one of those logos for them to use that card.

This is a nice solution to a problem I had been wondering about, which would be how Skinnet and Furty could use cards when none of the cards used tribe emblems specific to them. This gives them some degree of versatility instead of requiring them to use only newer cards featuring their tribes' logos.

I'm just interested to see what tribes their Speedor and weapon cards will be specific to. I'm thinking probably Wolves and something, considering that they share Speedor molds.

Hmm, might be outside my budget but thanks for bringing it up.

That's actually the best of the Chima sets of this year, outside of the Croc Boat/Ship.
