December 28, 200618 yr Author That's one wierd looking Millenium Falcon. X-D I still think it's just crazy that Lucas throws in a couple spaceships that fly by the top of the screen for a couple seconds in Episode IV and each ship gets it's own name and a Starwars.com database page with specifications of performance and affiliations. Oh why g-d why?!?! Although that model looks nice with all the differnt angled facets. Off topic, but I believe the ship is also mentioned in the Shadows of the Empire novel.

Well as was said - it's Dash Rendar's ship and he is well know to SWfans, of course his ship, the outrider is, too. ;-)
December 29, 200618 yr Author Well, I suppose Jabba's Sail Barge won this Face-Off. In addition; on another thread, I think it's the most favorite set of 2006.
January 13, 200718 yr The ISD. It was such a awesome ship in the original trilogy, and this is the ultimate Lego set. Although fragile, I like the inside play feature and all the the Grey peices. Jabbas Sail Barge doesn't catch my attention as much as the ISD. But I liek the Mini-fig selection better in the Jabba Sail Barge. -ZotS
February 12, 200817 yr sail barge. ISD isn't really minifig scale.... and sail barge had better figs.
February 12, 200817 yr Tough choise. They are both great sets, lots of cool minifigs, The destroyer looks very nice, but the Sail Barge has more playability I think. When does the poll ends?
February 12, 200817 yr I voted for the Sail Barge for all the reasons everyone else did. Plus, once, when it was intact( :-P ), I made it into the Emperor's Sail Barge by decking it out from top to bottom with stormtroopers(in humanely possible positions, of course. No standing horizantally on a wall ;-) ). I gave Palptine a throne and some Royal Guards. I also made use of the gun flaps and position several snipers on each side inside the barge and behind the flaps. Then Rebel Snipers wreaked havoc leaving a white mass on the main deck, and they overan the barge, giving the Sarlacc a snack of Sith! :-D Btw, a message to the Brickster: You should make more of these, kinda like Captain Tau made the minifig challenge, only with sets! We'd get some good debates going, I think! Edited February 12, 200817 yr by trooperdavinfelth
February 13, 200817 yr What the Deuce? Come on guys...(Or Gals :-$ ) How can you even compare Jabba the Butt's garbage barge to the regal coolness of one Governor Tarkin commandeered ISD... (what was he doing there anyway?) or do you guys really need that billionth Jedi Luke to complete your army of whining cry babies.... argh *wacko* :-D But seriously... Even though it was a welcome new editions to the line, and sweet no doubt... Jabba's barge lacked penash... The ISD... now that was cool... and not just cause the Empire Rules!!!
February 13, 200817 yr Governor Tarkin commandeered ISD... (what was he doing there anyway?)... That's one of the mayor errors why I shouldn't get a vote. The Jedi Luke was the first fleshy one, so a lot op people were probably very happy with it.
February 13, 200817 yr The sail barge. I don't mind sets that are out of scale, but the ISD is so absurdly out of scale it just seems ridiculous as a set. Star Destroyers are supposed to be imposing monoliths. I simply don't like sets when they are so out of scale that they lose all meaning. For me, a minifig Death Star would have the same effect. The sail barge is also out of scale, but it isn't so glaring that you scratch your head in confusion. The fact that the bridge of an actual Star Destroyer would be as big or bigger than the set is something I just can't get over.
February 13, 200817 yr Sail Barge for me! Both look great, have great minifigs and good and lots of parts for the price, BUT: I don't like the infinished look of the ISDs interior... :-)

I must say, when I read this post I was ROTFL! :-D I guess translucent green is the new 'regal' around here. :-X OK, so show us where you can get that Luke elsewhere! I dare ya! And I'll show you how to get every single figure in the ISD elsewhere(except the mouse droid, but that can be built with regular parts). Royal Guard: Imperial Inspection. Imperial Officer(flesh hands): Imperial Inspection.(to get the 'dack' head in flesh you can just get the Hoth base; three in there! ;-) ) Stormtrooper: Duh. Imperial Dropship. Or, for those of you like IS, Imperial Landing Craft. Darth Vader: Tie Collection and Imperial Inspection. Aside from the fact that the Imperial Inspection is long gone, I'd still like to see where you can get a flesh Luke, Leia, and Han, in addition to that sweet Lando! *wub* (Just so you know, I don't own the ISD. I have the figs, however. I got them off EBay. ;-) ) Oh, and don't get me wrong, Palin! The Empire OWNS! Edited February 13, 200817 yr by trooperdavinfelth
February 13, 200817 yr Sail Barge, definitely. The ISD looks way too weird, and the inside looks far too unfinished. Beside, it's got a FLAT BOTTOM!!! And unlike the Y-Wing, where after the UCS version they gave us a much improve minifig one, the ISD looks nothing like its impressing UCS counterparts... Whereas, while the SB is indeed out of scale too, it still captures its original shape in a manner that I find impressive every time I look at it. Off topic, but I believe the ship is also mentioned in the Shadows of the Empire novel. it indeed comes from the Shadows of the Empire media (the comics, the video game and the book) and its after it gained so much popularity that George Lucas decided to include it in the special edition of A New Hope in 1997. NB: Brickster, what's that symbol in the middle of your banner for the poll? I can't quite make it out and it intrigues me...

When you say it has a flat bottom, do you mean the set? Because the real thing has an angled body: <> I think the symbol was one of the models you could build in the Droids Developer Kit! 8-

February 13, 200817 yr these two were released in 2006. isn't it too soon to call them classics? i voted SB though. *y* so many unique MFs! just fantastic.
February 14, 200817 yr I picked the ISD, because despite its faults, it was a fine value. 1366 elements and several uncommon figures (flesh imperial officers, Darth Vader, Royal Guards, Tarkin, Imperial R2 unit) for only $99.99 was amazing, especially given that it could often be purchased for $85 shipped on Ebay from late 2006 to mid 2007. Yes, the bridge was a bit of a scale disaster, but that could be fixed with only a few bley plates. Indeed, the whole set was a great base for modding, due to its size and straightforward construction. I also loved the fact that the set contained so many trans-green lightsaber blades, since I used them to arm my custom Jedi. *y*
February 14, 200817 yr A bit late I guess, but will still vote. Voted Sail barge. Really love the ISD as well. Never got the UCS version. Mainly

(In a bad Emperor Papaltine homage) You will pay the price for your.... oh, just read the last part *sweet* . As to translucent green? You mean that fat slug from the Palace? There are about a billion ways to get a Luke body, and buy the fleshy head and hands of Brick link, but I must admit I am not as much of a figure lover over a vehicle lover... not discounting my small yet growing army of Stormies mind. As to the scale, come on... I can not think of a really a good mini-fig example in the large vehicles line, ever! But my trump card, how many mini-figs are breaking in fear of a brown barge with a barbecue? But bring in the blue-Grey wedge of whoop a*$, and they'll be runnin. X-D
February 16, 200817 yr I voted of course for the 6211 Imperial Star Destroyer! I think it was the best 150 Euro Lego SW set TLG ever released until now because it looks very realistic from outside and includes some nice interior -and I liked it to get a knew Imperial Officer minifig (Grand Moff Tarkin).
March 13, 200816 yr ISD. Extremely impressed during building, and no, there's no "gross neon-green", it fits just fine. A near-perfect build with awesome figures and unique ideas. 10/10, even if I built it for my cousin and don't own it myself. I built both, but the ISD outshines it if you ask me.
