January 26, 201411 yr These Vintage cars of yours are excellent. Especially for the small scale you are working in. More detailed pictures of all of them would be great because I would really, really like to build every one of them in Digital Designer. You can sometimes backwards engineer models from photos, but it isn't always easy.

You can sometimes backwards engineer models from photos, but it isn't always easy. Thank you, glad you like the cars. To be honest I am too busy with the slot car thing at the moment that's long overdue - there's no time left to make detailed photographs of all of the vintage cars right now. Anyway LDD might not take all the techniques used here. What I can do is take some pics of the truck which is used as a slot car anyway. It's quite easy to build and has no illegal techniques. Meanwhile this may help (actual pic of the truck with new tires to make it slottable): My only request would be that if you really produce an LDD file of it is to make it available for all.

Meanwhile this may help (actual pic of the truck with new tires to make it slottable): My only request would be that if you really produce an LDD file of it is to make it available for all. I would have no problem producing an LDD file for others to use. Not at all. "Illegal" building technics don't bother me as long as it turns out looking the way I want it to look. I don't have any real Lego's at all and can't justify spending the money on them when I already have another hobby that takes money, which is vintage/older computers. So I build things on LDD and don't have to spend money at all and have an endless supply of bricks of any type I want. That truck, along with the gangster-style one, and the white vintage car are the best-looking Lego vehicles in that small scale that I have ever seen. Extremely detailed pictures would not be necessary, just a description of how the chassis are assembled. I have already figured out how you built the cab and bed on that truck and already have them laid out in LDD. It is the underneath part I can't figure out. Edited January 28, 201411 yr by cobalt1959
January 28, 201411 yr Looks cool so far. Nice idea to widen the truck bed. Maybe this helps: I couldn't do the bed in LDD like you did, because LDD won't allow that kind of placement of parts. And I already know that there is no way I could replicate your steering setup in LDD either. And they do not have the part you used for headlight buckets. I might be able to do that kind of part placement in SR Builder. And I have some actual Lego's now. I couldn't fight the sickness anymore.
January 28, 201411 yr Author I forgot about that - that surely is an illegal connection. The gangster truck doesn't have the original steering setup, however, the wheels are adjustable to mock a steering function.
February 2, 201411 yr Excellent stuff.... I have to admit that realistic looking cars are one thing I've never really tried (and if I ever did they'd never be this good!) But you seem to have nailed them perfectly... My favourite is probably the white coupe.
February 3, 201411 yr Author Thank you, glad you like them. Hopefully I'll be able to build some more of them soon - at the moment it's rather road construction ... [Edit, 05 February 2014] Probably cobalt 1959 has given up on his little LDD project, but the good news is that fellow bricker Nightfall has just finished his LDD version which may be downloaded here. Many thanks Nightfall! [/Edit] Edited March 6, 201410 yr by ER0L
March 5, 201410 yr Author One question, before I answer your question, dreadnaught2005: Does the "2005" in your Nick mean that you are born in 2005?
March 5, 201410 yr ER0L, I am also interested in the issue instructions for the model. This model would fit perfectly for my mafia: Will do a sedan with a tent and can be transported alcohol!
March 5, 201410 yr Author As long as you keep it for yourself (unless you don't modify it in a recognizable way) I've got no problem with that. Btw. "your" Mafia is just a combination of the - slightly modified - car taken from the Indiana Jones Shanghai Chase set and the figs usually taken for such purposes, probably with third party weapons. There isn't much of yourself in it. But let's hear what dreadnaught2005 tells us first. [Edit, 7 March 2014] Sorry for the following, but I guess it speaks for itself.[/Edit] Edited March 7, 201410 yr by ER0L

Of modifications to make only the tent behind. Btw. "your" Mafia is just a combination of the - slightly modified - car taken from the Indiana Jones Shanghai Chase set and the figs usually taken for such purposes, probably with third party weapons. There isn't much of yourself in it. I have a pretty large gang!
