CMP Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 (edited) "We don't have any information to where he might be, save that a man in brown and another in black went into his house yesterday. Sounds an awful lot like Wolfgang people to me - if they have him, they're probably usin' him to lead them to the vault, or gettin' information, both of which are useless without the Keystone and the map. Anyway, I'm ready to head out to this house." Edited October 27, 2012 by CallMePie Quote
Scubacarrot Posted October 29, 2012 Author Posted October 29, 2012 The party heads through the streets towards the place Roman told them to go. If he was right, it was not very far. The party notices the streets are not lit at night, save for a by a few inns they pass, and the occasional lantern on the side of a building. Half expecting an ambush around every corner, the party walks uneasy, and does not say a word to each other. The party gets turned around a few times in the dark, and have to walk back. Finally the party arrives where they think they are supposed to be. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Taking care to knock over the "Keep Out" signs, Skrall pries off the boards covering the door and tries the latch. "Warehouses, Archeologists, abandoned homes... We're doin' more breakin' and enterin' than the average rogue." Quote
Scubacarrot Posted October 29, 2012 Author Posted October 29, 2012 Skrall has no trouble in removing the planks, they splinter as he pries them off, but the door does not give in. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Skrall knocks on the door expecting no one to answer, "Well, do we have the fine Ms. Lyssa blow the door down, or shall I give it the ol' fashioned shove?" Quote
CMP Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 "Then I must be an above average rogue," chuckles Atramor, attempting to pick the lock."If this doesn't work, I think ya' should bust it in, Garlin, we don't need a light show just to open a door." Quote
Scubacarrot Posted October 29, 2012 Author Posted October 29, 2012 (edited) No one answers. Atramor tries his best. But it seems Atramor's badass lockpicking skills have met their match, as the door stays closed. Edited October 29, 2012 by Scubacarrot Quote
CMP Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 "...I bet this door's magic or something," he grumbled, stepping back and crossing his arms. As he waited for Skrall to attempt a more forceful entry, he frowned, noticing a hinge on the wall nearby. Instead, he examines the chunk of wall encompassing the window, checking to see whether or not it's separate from the rest. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted October 29, 2012 Author Posted October 29, 2012 Atramor slides his hand over the wall, but notices nothing out of the ordinary. The "hinge" is just decoration. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 "Very well then, watch out Ratabor," Skrall rams his shoulder into the door. "Ms. Lyssa, perhaps ya want to get that potted plant to grow us some cover once we get inside." Quote
Scubacarrot Posted October 29, 2012 Author Posted October 29, 2012 Skrall runs up to the door. With all his might, he rams into it with his shoulder first. The blow is quite loud, but the door is still standing. The wood of the door is not even splintered. Quote
CMP Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 (edited) "Told ya'..." Atramor searches the potted plant, and the two trash cans. Edited October 29, 2012 by CallMePie Quote
Scubacarrot Posted October 29, 2012 Author Posted October 29, 2012 Atramor digs in the potted plant, but only gets his hands dirty. One of the trashcans is filled with dirt, the other with garbage that must have come from a construction site, nothing interesting. Quote
Waterbrick Down Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 "Most people don't go buryin' their keys Ratabor." Skrall lifts up the pot and looks underneath. Quote
CMP Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 "Most people don't have un-pickable locks or doors that can hold up against ogres either." Quote
Scubacarrot Posted October 29, 2012 Author Posted October 29, 2012 Skrall takes the more sensible approach, and sure enough, a small key sits under the plant pot. Skrall tries it on the door, and sure enough, it flings open! The party slowly walks in. The first room they come in is covered in darkness. Rufindel find a small lantern, which he lits. They see the room is empty, but there is a ladder to downstairs. After exchanging unsure looks, the party descends. They come into a large, round room, with three statues facing the party... What does the party want to do? Quote
CMP Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 "...And I'm almost positive most people don't have....well, this, in their basement." Atramor looks around the odd room, narrowing his eyes at the statues. "I'd take a look at those weapons, but I'm almost sure these things are gonna attack us...though, we are supposed to be stayin' here anyway, best to get it over with now..." Quote
Sandy Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Ellaria looks at the statues, rubbing her chin. "Hmm, anyone else up for a change of equipment?" She then tries to pry the mace from the statue's hand. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted October 29, 2012 Author Posted October 29, 2012 As soon as Ellaria touches the mace statue, an excruciating pain fills her head, she screams it out, and has to let go immediately. As the pain fades, she is barely standing. CMP Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Atramor heals Ellaria, then tries to remove the rightmost statue's katar. "Well, we found the trapped one already, I'm sure at least one of the others is safe..." Quote
Sandy Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 "Uh, thanks Atramor", Ellaria mutters as she drinks her Tonic. "I shouldn't have done that... Those statues are enchanted, I can tell that much. You shouldn't touch them, either, Atramor." Ellaria takes a closer look at the statues and the pedestals they stand on, just to see if she notices anything abnormal. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted October 29, 2012 Author Posted October 29, 2012 (edited) Atramor heals Ellaria, he then tries to take the weapon on the other statue, but he too has to pull back as he screams it out. As soon as he touched it, he felt burning. on his arms, back and legs. With terror, he slides back his sleeves, and sees that he has long, unhealthy open cuts on his arms. A green pus drops from his arms. This will severely limit him in the next fight. CMP Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 Ouch. Atramor swears as loudly as possible, and heals himself to the best of his abilities. McCafferey flaps off his shoulder as he leaps back from the stature, clucking in near-amusement. "Damn it! What the hell kind of house is this?! Ugh...does anyone have a Remedy?" Quote
Zepher Posted October 29, 2012 Posted October 29, 2012 "Might as well finish this. Let's see what it's got in store for me." Boomingham heals Atramor and then grasps the spear. Quote
