Nyx stares a bit as the massive ogre is brought down; something she never thought she'd see. Her stare turns to a glare as she fixes her eyes on Slim. She simply glares, but it is still ferocious.

She silently casts Darkness magic on Slim [Metasimian (Halberd)] through her book from the back row.

Boomingham stumbles back and grunts. He watches as the Ogre falls next to him.

Boomingham's voice grows gruff and urgent, and yet seems to have an excitement in it unknown to the other heroes. He searches his pockets very quickly and pulls out a Phoenix Essence, stares at it, and drops in back into the depths of his clothing.

"We'll need those more later. Ellaria, save your's, and I don't want to hear any complaints about it. I hold it no secret that I have little love for his kind, but he is an ally, and if I believed it beneficial, I would rouse him. He's got a mind like that too, he'll understand. Best thing we can do for him is defeat these chaps quickly." Boomingham sucks in his breath, and under his scraggly beard, he grins broadly. "Ellaria, Atramor, take care of Scim. He can't hurt you, and if we're lucky, he'll get some poison in his blood. Nyx dear, I had to impose, but you must take on Slim. Those of us in the front can't take another swipe from that weapon of his. Of course, that leaves me to brave Scim. If I get cut down, I expect the same treatment I'm giving the Ogre." Boomingham swings his King of the Desert from the front row.

Ellaria's heart skips a beat as she sees the mighty ogre fall.

"Wait! Let me pray for the roots of life to appear. They will revive Skrall while healing the rest of us at the same."

Sending all her thoughts to Sylvania, Ellaria prepares to attack Scim from the front row.

Results of Round Twelve of the Warehouse Battle:

Rufindel heals Boomingham - Heal More (WP: 10 x 2 + Level 13 = 26 Health Healed, 1 ether)

Boomingham vs. Metasimian (Scimitar and Shield) - Critical Hit (WP:9 x 2 + Level 18 + 4 extra power = 40 x 2 - 7 = 73 Damage Dealt)

Nyx vs. Metasimian (Scimitar and Shield) Metasimian (Halberd) - Shield Spellswordbook (No Summon)(WP: 13 x 3 + Level 21 = 60 / 2 + 60 x 2 = 150 - 7 = 143 Damage Dealt)

Ellaria vs. Metasimian (Halberd) Metasimian (Scroll and Spear) - Damage (12 - 19 = 0 Health)

Atramor vs. Metasimian (Scimitar and Shield) Metasimian (Scroll and Spear) - Poisoned Hit (WP: 10 + Level 21 = 31 Damage)

It's clear everyone has had enough of this battle. The heroes are enraged after seeing Skrall fall, Boomingham continues his streak of strong hits, healed for a lot of health by Rufindel, and stabs right through Scim's defenses. With that strike, the supposed leader of this group of Metasimians falls. The Halberdeer screams something incoherent and runs at Nyx, only to be hit in the face with a book, glowing with a dark, purple energy from Nyx's charged spell. It causes him to get knock out before he hits the floor. The last metasimian does not go down without a fight, and manages to hit Ellaria on the head, knocking her out too, before Atramor can stab him the belly. For a second, it looks like he can still stand and fight, but he then collapes from the poison.

THE BATTLE IS VICTORIOUS!

Boomingham and Rufindel gain half a level, Nyx and Atramor gain a third of a level. Skrall and Ellaria do not gain experience, since they were knocked out, they get up with one health. Rufindel, Nyx and Skrall gain some health from their natural hardiness.

Skrall roused himself, the bleeding had stopped, but he'd have to add the scars to his collection. "Well now, that was quite a scrape. Doesn't look like I missed much while I was out. Ya've got to pay a little more attention little Druid, enemies of that stature wouldn't bat an eye in finishin' ya off if they had the chance after they knocked ya out." Skrall gingerly helped the druid to her feet taking care not to dislocate her shoulder. "Now then, apparently these chaps were s'possed to be meetin' someone here, hopefully they're still around and in better condition than the apes." Skrall scanned the darkness of the warehouse looking for signs of life.

Atramor spits on the motionless body of the Scroll-wielding Metasimian as he falls to the floor, before healing Ellaria, Skrall, and himself to full health at the cost of 3 ether. He then casts an eye over their loot, grinning. McCafferey flutters down onto his shoulder after the fight.

"I'm the only one here who can use whips, and that Flail's close enough, so perhaps I could hold onto it? The Monkey Bar seriously intrigues me as well, but I think it'd be best suited for Nyx, she's the only one who can put it use right now. Maybe when I'm a little less poor we can strike a deal for it. Also...I don't think any of these monkeys are dead. Think Captain Patricia has room for a few more prisoners? They all escaped last time we helped 'em out."

Posted

Ellaria rubs her head.

"Uh, that didn't go as planned... Thank you for the heal, Atramor. Now, we're inside the warehouse. Let's see what we can find... Oh, I have this magic compass with me, it's proven to be quite useful in situations where I have had to find something."

Boomingham laughs a laugh of relief as the final enemy is stabbed in the gut. He pats his forehead with his kerchief nods respectfully at the Ogre as he gets to his feet.

"Good to have you back on the field of combat. You too, Ellaria." Boomingham looks at the spoils. "Clearly, Monkey Bar goes to my dearest Nyx, who has once more proved she's invaluable to have around when push comes to shove. Ellaria, you can have the Banana. You've got more ether to spare, and Rufindel has got some extra protection. If you don't want it, you can gift it to him. Rufindel, you get the Deadly Venom, put it to good use, alright?"

Boomingham looks at the remaining goods. A scroll, flail, shield, and some gold. "Alrighty, well, sadly, no one but me can use the shield, so that baby is mine. Ogre, you may have 50 gold, not much else that will do you good. Rufindel, you ought to take 50 gold too. Nyx, you get 25, Ellaria, you get 24. Atramor, we need to have a word, chappo. You want your hands on the flail, but I need to make sure you'll use it when I ask you to. Can't have you hacking at enemies that it would make more sense for others to put down. I'm giving it to you on the condition that you do what's best for our unit. If you don't do that, you will not receive more toys to play with for the rest of the quest. That includes gold." Boomingham pockets the scroll and one gold, and then picks up the shield, strapping the Shadeux one to his back under his cloak. "Righto, you all have free reign to try to figure out what in hel was going on here."

EASY LIST (For Scuba! )

Boomingham - Shield, Scroll, 1 gold

Rufindel - Deadly Venom, 50 Gold

Skrall - 50 gold

Nyx - 25 gold, Monkey Bar

Atters - Flail

Ellaria - Banana, 24 gold

PS Fellow Players - I will try to be fair with the loot distribution, but will also stick to Boomingham's greedy and bias nature of RP. PLEASE TELL ME IF YOU ARE FEELING SLIGHTED! Of course, if I stuck to total RP, he'd give Skrall nothing and split everything actually good between himself and Nyx, but that would suck for you guys. Still, I might be slightly unfair, but only for RP, so if things start to really look like you've been getting the bad end of the stick, tell me and I'll correct it from there on in! And sorry for the OoC, won't write this much OoC again in the quest.

"Aye, that's fine," noted Atramor, weighing the rather heavy weapon in his hands. Lucky he'd gotten some practice in using such weapons early on with the Chain Whip. "But perhaps ya' should lend the Scroll to Ellara or Rufindel, at least for the Quest? You're a much harder hitter than them, and I doubt ya'd have much time to use it anyway."

Does the Fragile effect inflicted by the Heavy Flail last 3 rounds, like in the effect's description? Awesome items by the way. :sweet:

Ellaria looks scornfully at Boomingham.

"Excuse me, a banana?! What am I going to do with this banana? I already have high enough health, and I certainly don't want to lose my precious ether." Ellaria throws the banana to Skrall. "You take it, Skrall. You're the only one without ether in this group, this will benefit you the most, I think."

Ellaria pockets the 24 gold, not expecting to get anything else from her lackluster performance in the battle.

Boomingham raises an eyebrow.

"You'll be wanting to get yourself in line as well, little lady. If you don't appreciate the share you get, then discuss it like an adult instead of tossing food all over the place. If you're not pleased with the banana, hang on to this scroll instead, but I expect it back at the end of our adventures unless it proves to be a particularly good fit for you." Boomingham turns to Atramor and nods respectfully. "Thanks for helping me to allot the resources properly. That's the type of thinking I'd like to see from here on in, chappo."

Ellaria goes rigid.

"I apologize, Sir Boomingham. I will conduct myself better in the future", she says with the chilliest voice she can muster up.

She then blames herself for bursting out her own disappointment into others. But she vows to never let the drunkard paladin to see through her.

Yes.

How you stated the last thing was not so clear, am I correct in assuming Ellaria has the scroll while Boomingham has the banana?

Atramor quickly heals his allies. With the battle over, the party finally has the oppertunity to take a look around. They are standing in a simple, almost square room. The floor consists of simple planks, and the walls are the same as outside. Tiny windows are near the roof. Next to the door they came in, there is another door, closed. The Metasimians are unconcious, none of them are dead, as far as they can see. Ellaria pulls out her Magic Compass, but by lack of specification of what it is they are looking for and possibly other interference of what it is she is really looking for, the compass keeps spinning without giving a direction. Only now the heroes notice the warehouse is filled with crates barrels of fish and other seafood, some of them open and spreading a very penetrating smell. Also bottles of unknown liquids are placed along the walls.

Suddenly, the door to the outside opens, the Heroes start pulling their weapons out, only to see it is Recruit Jenkins.

7813225968_2dd4ac0dae_t.jpg

"Uhh.. Heroes... are you alright?"

Again, the door opens, only this time it is the other door. An odd figure comes out, and speaks:

7821816006_274dff23c5_c.jpg

7821815894_9f1b78748e_t.jpg

"What are you doin' in my warehouse?"

Hey, it's our friendly neighborhood fishmonger. :sweet:

Atramor turns, the wicked flail swinging as he does so (McCafferey silently observing its movements), but merely sighs as he notes it's the young recruit. Then another, familiar figure bursts out of the nearby warehouse door, and he grins slightly upon recognizing the Sharkling.

"Gurnam? This is your place? Ah, well, then I think ya' owe us."

He waves the weapon towards the Metasimians, battered and unconscious.

"I believe these apes were plannin' to ambush you, given what we overheard before we came in and beat the livin' hell outta them. You, or the recruit, though they mentioned a businessman, so I'd assume the former," he explains, nodding towards both Gurnam and Jenkins. "Are you the one he was s'post to be meetin', the one he's pickin' up a package from...?"

"Owe you? Mate, before ya came in and made a mess of the place, I had giv'n these fella's the option of leavin' with all limbs attached. I believe they were discussin' just that before yer charge. If anything' you owe me for the mess you made of this place."

The Sharkling absently twirls his fillet-knife in his hand, before continuing:

"The monkeys were after the documents that youngster is here to pick up. Now I know they don't have that kind of coin to match what Cap'n Pat paid me, and it's obviously bad for business to break a deal like this, heh."

The sharkling hands the stack of papers he holds in his hand to the recruit, and asks:

"Anything' else? Don't worry about them monkeys wakin' up, I'll handle them."

Atramor chuckles a bit.

"Alright, that's all fair, mate. I don't think there's much left to discuss, I believe we've got what we came for."

Posted

OoC: Sorry, Skrall should have the banana, and yes, Elaria should have the scroll.

Bomingham smiles to see the Sharkling and gives him a quick salute of recognition. "Sorry about the mess, chap. I'm afraid we've already looted the bodies as well, so that won't do you much good. Thanks for holding on to those scrolls for us, but I think it's about time that we were on our merry way." Boomingham turns to the recruit. "Alright, chappo, let's see this Patricia of your's."

Posted

"Will you wait for us to receive our reward before paying you back?" Boominham eyed the Sharkling with interest. "Last time I did not take you up on your offer, and I regretted it. Tell you what. If you'll wait for us to collect our reward, I'll borrow 80 gold from you happily. If not, well then we'll be off, unless any of the others want some extra spending money."

Posted

Skrall sized the sharkling up, he had never cared for their race nor any that dealt with the lending and borrowing of gold, but he knew his purse was light and that the Party may have need of funds if they were on a distant journey. "I don't think we've had the pleasure of meetin' yet Sharklin', but as I take it some of my companions have done some business with ya in the past, I'll trust ya are a reasonable chap. So I don't mind a short loan of 100 Gold if ya can spare the expense."

Posted

"Take that you big bully!" Nyx shouts at the metasimian as she sends him flying while Atramor guts the last remaining enemy. On receiving the loot from Boomingham Nyx smiles appreciatively. "Thank you Larry, you're very sweet."

The appearance of Gurnam was no surprise; having spent many of her formative years around the docks, characters such as he were quite commonplace to her.

"Gurnam, lovely to meet you, and sorry about the mess in your warehouse - sometimes we just get a bit... overenthusiastic.

Say, 25% is quite steep for an interest rate. You couldn't do a girl a favour and drop it down a smidge could ya? I'd be willing to borrow 100 gold from you if you could drop the rate a few percent. Just this once? :cry_happy: "

Posted

"Don't count on it, Miss."

"You can't blame a girl for trying. Shame, really, but there you go. It seems like a good idea to borrow 100 gold please. :sweet: "

Posted

'Greetings, Gurnam and well met.' Rufindel raises a speculative eyebrow: an expressive gesture on an elf. 'Hmm, the opportunity to borrow money suggests an opportunity to spend it might well be forthcoming,' he says under his breath. Aloud, he addressed the big fish. 'I concur. I too would like to borrow 100 gold, if you would be so kind, good man. Fish.'
