This round has proven to be painful for all heroes involved. Althior flings an ice spell at the Sporeshroom, but the depressed fungus slices it out of the air as if it was a child's snowball. Leaning out of Xander's arrow's path, the shroom's tendrils inch their way to Xander's foot. Entangling themselves around the hunter's leg, the tendrils tug, causing Xander to trip and hit his head. The Phoenix's rage knows no bounds. With a screech he swoops towards Alex, ramming into him.

Alex, the Phoenix's burns taking their toll, can only pull off a lesser heal. Althior ducks under one of the Sporeshroom's sweeping tendrils and blast it with an ice spell, causing it's tip to freeze and sever. The sporeshroom lets out a pathetic whimper and a tear rolls down his cheek(?). Xander unleashes arrow after arrow on the Phoenix, but the speedy bird dodges. The Phoenix hovers high above Xander and divebombs, his talons dislocating Xander's shoulder.

Alex takes a swing at the Sporeshroom, but it grabs him with a tendril. The leechlike throns jabbing into Alex's chest drain the vigor out of him, while bestowing it on the Sporeshroom. The pressure of the situation on Althior is too great, and he fails his healing yet again. The barrage of free hits knocks Althior out cold, the burns from the Phoenix proving to be too hot for him. Alex stands in the critical.
