soccerkid6 Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Nah, maybe it's better if we don't know :) Personally I would prefer to know Quote
Rogue Angel Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 I'm not looking for scores, I am wondering what other builds the guild leaders thought were the best. The public voting system is nice because you can see what everyone likes, but I am very curious to see the thoughts of the guild leaders - All of whom have amazing building skills. I don't believe we saw votes from them on the last 2 challenges (I could be wrong though) and especially since there was some disagreement, and they created the original guilds themselves, I would be very curious to see their thoughts on the entries. On a side note, I can see there was some varying interpretation on the guidelines for this challenge. i will speak on originality as an example. One of my goals for this build (and others from what I've read) was to incorporate lego themes that are not heavily incorporated into the existing guilds but are also not hard to come by easily - hence the wealth of orient-oriented guilds (MikeyB incorporated CMF S8 heavily, which is extremely accessible right now, and I think is a huge perk for his guild choice). Originality could be varying from the existing guilds, varying from other entries, varying from the expected (Gabe's pig-men)... lots of possible interpretations. Quote
ZCerberus Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Guild leaders tend to not vote because they don't want to vote "against their guild" or be seen as having "favorites". They do score the builds for gold for the guilds. In both of the last two challenges the best scoring entries were not the same as the most popular by vote. I do think the guild leaders do a good job of using the criteria listed to judge the challenges which might not be the same as the popular vote. In this case SoT had the only vote. To be honest, SoT is the main creative force in the preludes and it was his contest. There were a lot of good entries. Other guild leaders can volunteer their favorites if they like. Quote
Rogue Angel Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 I'm not trying to put anyone on the spot here, nor disputing MikeyB's entry as the winner - I think he had a great entry. My thought was "I wonder which other entries the guild leaders thought were good enough to consider." I therefore rescind my request. Also, my discussion on originality was that you Z, had interpreted it differently than I had, so there could be a variety of interpretation on this. Quote
ZCerberus Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 I agree and only SoT knows for sure. I am just saying my favorites don't mean squat! I just thought I could be somewhat impartial since I really didn't have a dog in the fight. I don't think you are being out of line, I am just not sure SoT or any guild leaders who like entries want to volunteer that info at the risk of seeming to have favorites or supporters or non-supporters of their guild! Rogue Angel Posted October 12, 2012 Posted October 12, 2012 Thanks for the Challenge SoT! It definitely helped burn some of the time until Challenge V. (It always seems like the deadlines are "forever away.." until they become "way too soon!") Quote
Hexx Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 Personally I would prefer to know I'm saying that the choice was subjective, I don't think there really was any thorough scoring, I think they just chose what would fit best in the current story (and/or what promotes new lego products best). In the end it's not important where is one's place on the scoreboard, it's important that we had fun building stuff, and got a few people who liked our builds... Quote
Ecclesiastes Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 (edited) We lost the Victory declared post! Oh noz! MikeyB was the victory. O really? I haven't seen a confirmation of SoT. So you could be just saying that as regulator. No serious, well deserved Mikey! Although I don't like your figs that much, they are to much right from a collectibles bag despite of minor changes, I think your vignette is outstanding. As was the story that came with it so again well deserved and I'm looking forward to making a Valyrio build! Edited October 13, 2012 by Ecclesiastes Quote
ZCerberus Posted October 13, 2012 Posted October 13, 2012 You question the regulator magical powers? I really liked your figures Ecc. They were very excellent. You seem to have a knack for creating and shooting great figures! Quote
