Lovely roof action on this model.

Wow! Great work on the convertible function, and the glove compartment is so clever!!! (Love the cup holder idea too, just afraid you couldn't fit a cup in there. . . ). Great job!

Beautiful work! The detail on this is astounding :oh3: The convertible feature is really neat

This car is THE CAR!

I love the beautiful details ...do you will share the instruction?

It would be great found this car in a standard lego set! :sweet:

really love this car, very well done !

Awesome car, One of the best I have seen  . I love the incorporated functions and the glove box/cup holder and converting roof are my favourite parts of the build. I can see a lot of though has gone into making it so functional.

Dose the fount wheels steer? LOL  ,only joking you have enough functionality.

Thanks again for all your comments.

...not sure what the light grey fire hose nozzle is but I think it's the emergency brake(?)... The wheels though, its too bad they stick out so far.

Emergency brake... crossed my mind during construction. In the end I had to turn the nozzle around because of the shift lever and the result was a narrow console between the seats.

Offstanding wheels make the roadster more sporty. At least in my opinion.

The car is indeed strong, but I'm still working on the additional hardness. Once the project is complete, I will send you LDD file of the vehicle.

Great work!

i might be late in commenting so please forgive me; i wanted to pass along my commendation anyway! this is a PRIME example of 6wide LEGO cars and i enjoyed it A LOT. 6wide is a huge challenge and you were able to fit in a freakin' buttload of details. almost any "width" of Minifig car is difficult to scale (or vice-versa), IMO 6wide especially, so i'm especially glad you were able to fit 2 'figs and other interior details; plus having a well-rounded exterior (AND A CONVERTIBLE!!?!?!). my jaw dropped! thank you!

Awesome! Gotta love all those moving features. And good presentation with gifs! :)

This is what I like, almost every possible working feature in a small space. I remember the irony of Lego 'convertibles' which were actually always open! The only thing it seems to be missing is an accessible engine.

[*]It may sound stupid, but I keep wondering how two figs can be placed side by side in a 6w car. I can see it's possible - but how do you do it?

I think the secret is studless interior seating. This allows for more use of the available space. I used jumper plates for seating in a six wide truck I am building. This pushes each minifig half a stud away from the centre, allowing two aside seating.

Wow, that is really stunning. It is amazing to see all the functions. Especially the small ones!

Thank you, but take a look at the date - you're answering a post from 2012. In the meantime I've built quite a few cars, you know. Tiles are much thicker than the usual doors, that's why a studless floor is not sufficient - the "hand trick" does it, like solta had written already.

Thanks everybody for your comments and for revitalizing this topic.

The only thing it seems to be missing is an accessible engine.

It is very difficult to place engine in 6 wide car and make movable hood but still keep everything nice and solid.

I made this on Dodge Charger 1970

Besides the fact that the car looks stunning, i have never seen such a nice presentation of a moc.. those animations and pictures are done great!!

Excellent presentation of an excellent car! It's unbelievable how many little details and function you managed to include. Really well done!

Wow, fantastic MOC with so many details and your animation gif are nice too.

Some fantastic details there - love the glove compartment!

What a very cool car! The overall look is perfect and considering the size, the number of functions is amazing! Great work! :classic:

Excellent achievement for such a small scale! Practically a perfect MOC!

Does anyone have access to the LDD file on this?

I would love to see instructions for this.

Really cool! The convertible system was a nice idea.

As much as I am impressed with the functional drop top. I'm even more impressed with the detail and proportions of the car.

Sadly a similar coupe met its end directly in front of me on the expressway, and I narrowly avoided doing the same to the driver on the way into work today, I'm more than a little shaken.
