CaptMonkey Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Hello! I used to have the name MonkeyBosun, but I can'tget onto that name for some reason, so I got a new one. I finally got around to finishing up some old MOCs that I started a while back. The only bad thing is that when I was getting out some of my pirate legos that have been in storage for years and years I discovered that some of the pieces, including riggin parts had become damaged :( But my soldier fort is now finished. Actually more like a small outpost than a full fort. It is armed with 3 cannons (2 lego cannons and 1 moc) and manned by 4-7 men under normal circumstances. Since it is the holiday season, the soldiers even have a christmas tree to brighten their spirits. The rope bridge visible in a few of the pictures off to the side is usually a connecting bridge over the courtyard, but i decided that it looked to crowded for taking pictures, that is why it isn't there. I wanted to put this up before I went away for christmas. The folder should be public by now if I get the URL right. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=222240 Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted December 23, 2006 Eurobricks Emperor Posted December 23, 2006 That is very nice little fortress Capt Monkey. I really like it. The color scheme is good, nice details (lamp, x-mas tree). The use of palm tree leaves is adding some color to it. Good to have you back here! Quote
El Bucanero Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Do you mean you can't login with your name anymore or you don't like it anymore? If you didn't like it anymore, I think you can ask an admin to change it... Nice fort BTW.. *sweet* Quote
Norrington Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 I'm not trying to insult you, but peraps you did something someone considered offensive, and you were banned? No offfense to you of course, i'm jst curious about it myself. Quote
oDDerFisken Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 What a nice little fort. I especially like the cannon of yours. Realistic and simpel i think :-$ Quote
Berry Syedow Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 Interesting fort, sir monkey. What Quote

Norrington Posted December 23, 2006 Posted December 23, 2006 He didn't do anything offensive... I'm saying that maybe he unintetionally said something. but i'm not going to get off topic discusing it with you. i'm just saying. Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted December 24, 2006 Eurobricks Emperor Posted December 24, 2006 I'm saying that maybe he unintetionally said something. but i'm not going to get off topic discusing it with you. i'm just saying. A simple search through the the members database shows that the user MonkeyBosun is not part of the Bad Kids group. So he was not banned from the forum Sir Norrington! How could someone who can build such a nice fortress ever be banned ;-). Quote
oo7 Posted December 24, 2006 Posted December 24, 2006 Looks simple but nice. I like how you used the flat tiles to create a roof that can lift off, that shows a faior amount of thought and planning. The Christmas tree is not that accurate but very cute so I think it's all right. But if those three grey things are beds ther're way to small. Do you mean you can't login with your name anymore or you don't like it anymore? If you didn't like it anymore, I think you can ask an admin to change it... Well he said he "couldn't get on to it", not "did not want to get onto it". He should PM Jipay. How could someone who can build such a nice fortress ever be banned ;-). That's a little bit of a steriotype, a new member gave us extensive photo reviews of three just released sets the day he got them but now he's in the chamber. Pity. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted January 18, 2007 Governor Posted January 18, 2007 Hello! I used to have the name MonkeyBosun, but I can'tget onto that name for some reason, so I got a new one. If you'd like to continue using MonkeyBosun I can look into for you. Awesome! A MOC! So what's the name of this fort? Quote
CaptMonkey Posted January 19, 2007 Author Posted January 19, 2007 So far, it doesn't have a name, in fact, none of my MOCs do at the moment, but that may change. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted January 20, 2007 Governor Posted January 20, 2007 I like this angle better come to think of it... One thing though... I'm not sure about they grey tower hanging over the left side (my left that is) because it kind to looks "tacked on". Maybe if it had some structural support underneath it would look more substantial. Quote
ZCerberus Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 One thing though... I'm not sure about they grey tower hanging over the left side (my left that is) because it kind to looks "tacked on". Maybe if it had some structural support underneath it would look more substantial. There are many things to like about this fort, a custom cannon, some nice vegetation, and though it uses multiple colors, they flow together nicely. I think Phes is right, though, about the tower on the left. It seems very out of place, not only am I not sure it does anything, but it is also not supported. A few 'long' inverted slopes would do the trick! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted January 21, 2007 Governor Posted January 21, 2007 Another couple of thoughts... What about removing it completely or moving it above the wooden doors? Maybe the area above the doors could be built up even more into a solid tower. Quote
CaptMonkey Posted January 25, 2007 Author Posted January 25, 2007 I'll try to fix it up a little, and add some updated pics of it when I upload my next set of pictures. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted January 25, 2007 Governor Posted January 25, 2007 That sounds good Captain Monkey! What are you up to these days? You don't seem to log in much at the moment. Quote
