GuntherThePenguin Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 If true, this is really exciting. A few of these sound intriguing, whereas a few sound a bit bizarre/uninteresting... Quote
Dhivael Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Most of these don't even rise to the level of plausible, IMHO. Quote
General Magma Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 (edited) Mr. Freeze? Heh... Let's wait for an actual confirmation of these before yelling around it's fake, although the rumored inclusion of Mr. Freeze pretty much gives that away. Stuff like that won't happen in the minifig series. Chinese girl with a snake? What's that for? Would make me think of something along the lines of India, not China. legomonk Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Seems suspect IMHO. Mixing of licensed theme and CMF is highly unlikely. Quote
Haltiamieli Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 (edited) Well, if this rumour would happen to be a true, obviously this time the rumour would be based on someone seeing a low resolution picture of the figs, not a list of their names, and describing them as he/she saw fit. There will certainly never be actual Mr. Freeze in CMF series, but there could be some figure (space alien again?) that resembles him close enough.* And if the picture would be of low enough quality (we've seen such leaks before), the "Chinese Girl with snake" could be an ancient Chinese engineer with a firework, or what ever. But no, I'm not trusting this rumour yet. * Or the rumour starter could have seen unassorted pictures of not-yet-released figs and just wrongly assumed that upcoming Mr. Freeze is part of the CMF. just2good Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 (edited) I really hope this isn't true. Half off these aren't even plausibe. Mouse Bandit? Mr. Freeze? Another Robot? Edited August 25, 2012 by just2good Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Wait.... WHAT???!! BeYOND ridiculous!!! Quote
chard5000 Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Maybe "Mr. Freeze" is a new Ice Planet 2002 type guy. That would be awesome. Quote
Cara Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 If any of those are true, they have certainly lost a lot in translation. Quote
Lightning Dragon Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Isn't this a little early? And also, many of these sound a little...strange. Hope this list isn't true. Quote
Lordofdragonss Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Mr. Freeze is probably a Snowman- Mr. Frosty! Quote
Phyre Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 (edited) Mr. Freeze is probably a Snowman- Mr. Frosty! Or maybe it's a Jack Frost-type figure, but the person who saw it wasn't familiar enough with the character to give it its proper name. It would fit in, since S9 is due out in the middle of winter. And the other figures seem at least plausible. But still, at this point it's very hard to say how true any of this is. Edited August 25, 2012 by Phyre Quote
-GZ- Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 (edited) Mr Freeze certainly could be an abstract ice superhero or a snowman. But... Elf with a Royal Guard hat, owl and sword It's certainly a joke, can you even imagine this... fig? Edited August 25, 2012 by -GZ- Quote
DraikNova Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 (edited) This simply makes no sense, although the inventor sounds good. Edited August 25, 2012 by DraikNova Quote
Kai NRG Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Fakest list evar. -Sci I agree. Although, I guess I could be wrong. . . Quote
Hey Joe Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Could be possible? The CMFs are partially meant to tie into themes, correct? Chinese girl w-snake = Legends of Chima Mr. Freeze = rumored arctic theme Race car driver = Speedorz The others don't sound so offbeat compared to what's been made so far, i.e.; babysitter w-baby is similar to a sleepyhead? I vote yes, solid, done deal. What's up for Series 10? Quote
Haltiamieli Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 It's certainly a joke, can you even imagine this... fig? The elf part does throw one off a bit, but I might be able to imagine some sort of cossack/mongol type of warrior with a sword, a royal guard hat and a pet hawk? I got to admit that the person who originated this list, if it doesn't hold any truth, has a pretty wild imagination. Quote
GuntherThePenguin Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 Wow, you guys really take these names very literally don't you... This is probably somewhat close to the real list (give or take) but somone just misinterpreted. Once again, I'm sure we'll all be pleasantly surprised when these turn out to be real and some of the names were just mixed around a little. Quote
TheLegoDr Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 After all of the leaks on EB, I have come to just sit and wait because I have been surprised before (Olympics figures anyone?). That photo quality was terrible, yet it was true. Series 8 had a vampire listed and it became a manbat, so definitely lost in translation. Same goes for this proposed series 9 list. A lot could be lost in translation or descriptions are misleading. Or it could be a bunch of shenanigans. All of the words I wanted to use in place of shenanigans weren't the proper usage (ballyhoo, tomfoolery, hullabaloo). Anyway... I don't mind this series 9 list, but it does make one wonder how much of it is accurate, if any. So time to wait for the pictures or an official leak. Quote

US Policeman? Which is based on either an NYPD Cop or something else? Quote
Fighter of Frizzies Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 After some thought, I wonder if I should be more inclined to believe this list only because it sounds more like someone trying to interpret a bunch of unnamed figures with vague descriptions, i.e. if it were more specific (someone making a list off of a bunch of wishlists) it may look more like a hoax. Plus it has a sports figure. But! I'll be glad for some pictures to prove this wrong. Quote
