TheLegoDr Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 (edited) Donuts could easily be a recolored Lord of the Rings ring. Bam, done! And I do agree that if children are only exposed to one thing, then that is how they will think. But that doesn't have anything to do with series 9 CMF. A male hairstylist would be a great addition. If you really want to get into an argument, then look at this year's hospital with a male doctor and the CMF series female nurse. Same idea. My daughter went as a doctor for halloween. Easily distinguishable as a doctor, yet a few people asked if she was a nurse. I guess it is just people's exposure to things. A gay or straight minifigure isn't going to change anything. I guess I hadn't considered any of my toys to be gay or straight. They are just what they are. And I don't picture the Hippie head to have crossed eyes or anything simulating them being high, but the automatic assumption (on my part is someone dressed like that probably partakes in that hobby) and it is just a little fun by TLG for the fans out there. Look at Disney Pixar Cars with the VW van. Same concept. He acts hippie-ish, but doesn't guarantee he is getting high all the time. But it is an assumption by the majority and that adds to the humor. obsidianheart Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Saw 2 pages of updates since this morning, got excited there might be pictures. Sad face. Quote
Swifty118247 Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 Yeah you guys are right any luck on photos? Quote
Lightning Dragon Posted November 2, 2012 Posted November 2, 2012 If true, I'm guessing that: - Maid Marrion is a female analogue of the Series 1 forestman Or...a FEMALE ELF!!! Quote
Fighter of Frizzies Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Actually the whole "Splitz" things had me thinking. Could this be a legitimate list with these names being the official names? If it happened to be an Einstein or Dr. Jekyll figure, then "Splitz" would probably be the awkward official name (like Grandma Visitor) rather than the name someone would come up with had they just seen a bunch of pictures. I guess what I'm saying is, I'll take this list as legitimate until proven otherwise. Quote
Haltiamieli Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Actually the whole "Splitz" things had me thinking. Could this be a legitimate list with these names being the official names? I find it very unlikely. Both Dr. Splitz and Maid Marian would go against the naming scheme of all the previous series, even if they thought it wouldn't be a problem that a Dr. Splitz already exists elsewhere (Maid Marian wouldn't be a problem in that sense because being folk tales Robin Hood stories are not copyrighted). Quote
Fighter of Frizzies Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 (edited) Oh (repudiate!); didn't know about the naming thing. Then I'll just wait for pics. Edited November 3, 2012 by Fighter of Frizzies Quote
Graysmith Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 It's happened before that early lists (that turned out to be true) had slightly off descriptions though. Like with Series 8 when the list that turned out to be true called the Vampire Bat just a vampire, or how the businessman translated into trader/merchant. I know that's been the case with earlier releases too. So these Maid Marian and Dr. Splitz names might just be what the person who wrote that list decided to call them. The Maid Marian character might just be a medieval maiden of that style, and Dr. Splitz might be a humanoid ape (a la Planet of the Apes), and Dr. Splitz was just the character that popped into their head when they saw it. Basically, the list could still be real even if those names look iffy. Quote
Haltiamieli Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Basically, the list could still be real even if those names look iffy. Yeah, didn't mean to say that the list couldn't be real (or based in reality), just that it's unlikely that it has the official names. Personally I think that in a sense "Dr. Splitz" and "Maid Marion" make the list more believable, if anything. This is the same I said of the Series 8 Czech list: reality has anomalies, only forgeries tend to be without imperfections. If someone would try to do a deliberate fake list, it probably wouldn't include the likes of Dr. Splitz. Then again, all this does fit with the list on the first page of this thread, which was very much untrue. So I can certainly be fooled too. Maybe more easily than many others. Quote

The gay/straight debate is over. LEGO is a product based on the user's imagination. That's the real beauty of it. Impose whatever beliefs on your own minifigures and allow everyone else to do the same, please. Quote
Laura Beinbrech Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 - Maid Marrion is a female analogue of the Series 1 forestman Yeah, that's what I was thinking when I first saw this list.... If that is true, then the minifigs that I'd be most interested in getting would be: Alien Trooper Maid Marion Cyclops Knight Battle Mech Mermaid Also, depending on what they look like, I'd also likely go for: Roller Derby Girl Plumber (but onl if he has blue coveralls over either a red or green shirt, is wearing a red or green hat and sporting a mustache ;)) Fortune Teller (might be able to use her as some kind of mage or sorceress). Kai NRG Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Im just hoping for those donuts Same here, if we have a pretzel, shouldn't there be a donut? Quote
ReZourceman Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Donut = Awesome idea. Spelling of donut = minefield. Quote
dyntar Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 If this is true, then series 9 is way better than series 8. The cyclops and chicken suit mascot were in my guesses for series 8. Could the Dr. Splitz figure actually be a mad scientist that is half human half fly? a half mutated doctor. Quote
DraikNova Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 I agree, the half-half human-fly idea makes way more sense than a yeti. Quote
Kai NRG Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Donuts could easily be a recolored Lord of the Rings ring. Bam, done! . . . Aren't donuts usually a bit wider than that? Who would want such a thin donut? I say we need a new mold (preferably with sprinkles on top. . . ). . . Quote
Swifty118247 Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Yeah the first ever legp sprinkles would be awsome but they made need alot ot new molds for this series :-) Quote
Kai NRG Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Yeah the first ever legp sprinkles would be awsome but they made need alot ot new molds for this series :-) Well, detachable sprinkles would be nice too, but I meant attached. . . Quote
Itaria No Shintaku Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Well, detachable sprinkles would be nice too, but I meant attached. . . This is so fun... I mean, we don't even know if we're getting a cop, and you're arguing about the possible sprinkles on his hypotetical donut... LOL! (no offence meant!) Quote
Swifty118247 Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Also if I type legp or tp it means lego or to sorry not used to my new phone Quote
