Kai NRG Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 This is so fun... I mean, we don't even know if we're getting a cop, and you're arguing about the possible sprinkles on his hypotetical donut... LOL! (no offence meant!) Oh. . . should we give the donut frosting too? Anyway, I'd love at least one new kind of food in the series (I love adding to my food collection and a donut would be perfect. . . ). Quote
Swifty118247 Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 (edited) Yeah i'm going to buy loads and make a chrismas bakery for next year!! :-D Edited November 3, 2012 by Swifty118247 Quote

There are plenty of things Lego could give a cop besides a doughnut. Not that I woul'nt like one, though... Quote
TheLegoDr Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 The reason I mentioned the LOTR ring was simply to avoid a new mold. I like new molds as much as the next person, but I could also see TLG doing that to save some money on a new mold. They would be a bit wider towards the center and one would want sprinkles on top to better signify it is a donut. I've always spelled it doughnut, but donut doesn't get flagged as a typo on here, so I went with that version. Maybe the policeman could have a baton. I don't recall seeing one of those before, but I may have missed it since I don't follow the City Police theme. A humanoid ape sounds like a great idea! It could have a new head mold similar to the new molds of TMNT (not a turtle head mind you). But it'd be neat to have a new mold again for a head, but from a business stand point I don't know many new molds they want to release in these CMF series. Quote
Swifty118247 Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Yeah i can see what you mean but think of the uses of a donut: 1 Build a bakery and put it in the window 2 Put it into the great hall for harry potter 3 Make tons of new lego animations Uses for a baton: 1 A baton LOL But i see what you mean its very unlikely Quote
Big Cam Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 I didn't impose any beliefs on anybody. Then it looks like you didn't do anything wrong and it should be easy to drop this. Quote

DraikNova Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 I want a donut too. Detachable sprinkles...Let´s just hope you´re kidding. Quote
Swifty118247 Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 I think that detachable sprinkles would be really hard to use in another set :-( . it makes me laugh though how were sitting here talking about detachable sprincles! XD Quote
Piranha Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Interesting list, I am going to guess some descriptions suffered in the translation. I hope it turns out to be correct, because a Heroic Knight sounds nice, maybe even a completely new faction? Quote

Swifty118247 Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 (edited) Right I'm sorry if it seems like i'm carrying it on I just want people to stop going on about this ok!! If anyone says anything about it after thus then your just carrying it on!! Anyway I hope that they give police man something worthwile that I can use in mocs (Not another useless gun!!) Niku Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Knight with Visor helmet please. Knight with Visor helmet please. Knight with Visor helmet please. Knight with Visor helmet please. Knight with Visor helmet please. And the whole all series seems great too. Quote
The Brick Rat Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Anyway I hope that they give police man something worthwile that I can use in mocs (Not another useless gun!!) I too would like a new accessory for a police fig, however I wouldn't mind a gun either (LEGO police figs come with handcuffs, flashlights or walkie talkies - a gun would be a first). Quote
GuntherThePenguin Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Am I the only person that is so excited for the Hollywood Actress?? Quote

obsidianheart Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Someone pointed out that The Professor Delores Umbrage hairpiece from Harry Potter, cast in Bright Light Yellow plastic, might make a good Marilyn Monroe-esque look for the "Starlet". Quote

Never. going. to. happen. You'll only ever see Lego police with non-lethal equipment. Technically that could include a taser gun as it's just used to stun a criminal, but not a ballistic weapon. But, while I understand LEGO not giving guns to police figs in the themed sets, I do wish they would 'push the envelope' in the CMF series to acknowledge that yes, many police officers do carry weapons in order "to serve and protect". I'd love to see: Riot Control Officer (with riot control gear including shield and club). SWAT Team Officer (with sniper rifle). Plain Clothes Officer (with badge printed on 1x1 tile and a handgun). But, as you say, not going to happen. LEGO cowboys will go on shooting bandits and indians, Supervillains will shoot Superheroes and civilians, and Spacemen will shoot numerous alien races, but LEGO police will have to go on apprehending hardened criminals with their charming good looks. Your sarcasm exaggerates the point. In some parts of the world such as Britain, Police do not carry guns apart from in extreme situations. The criminals LEGO produces are typically 'Robbers' armed with, if anything, crowbars or similar. They certainly don't justify the use of SWAT style police with sniper rifles and as I've said, in places such as Britain these would not be tackled with firearms at all. As for riot police, I don't think LEGO want to make toys based around riots. Cops and Robbers is a theme children understand with clear 'goodies' and 'badies'. Riot police vs civilians is not. With regards to a plain clothes officer surely this would just be a normal civilian LEGO minifigure? A child would easily mistake that for just some guy with a gun! Furthermore with regards to your comment concerning cowboys/bandits, superheroes/villains and spaceman/aliens carrying guns: we don't live in a world where any of the aforementioned currently exist and with the historical themed case of cowboys/bandits the 'goodies' and 'badies' are clear so their portrayal in toys is far less controversial. That aside, whatever your opinion on LEGO's morality stance, big differences in their morality stance between sets and CMF would be very strange! Quote

Actually, green bricks were released ages after because Lego feared someone could build tanks out of them.... So... Quote
MonkeyCrumb Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Downtown Cop - Maybe an undercover cop, using that Hobo design? Or else it's a Beverly Hills Cop Eddie Murphy type? Quote
Swifty118247 Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 I hope that they don't do another failure like the series 2 traffic cop (Fail!!) But I would love to see the starlet having a really useful hair piece for loads of mocs. Can't wait to get the chicken suit guy so I can build a chicken fast food store that would be epic (Anyone wanna make a moc of that? *hint hint*) Quote
