June 17, 201311 yr No kidding, small world. You are correct, the only tanks here are NG. Fort Campbell is still a Light Infantry (Air Assault) Division. I was DA selected to be a Division Inspector General (IG) and it so happened they assigned me to Fort Campbell for three years. I really like the area, great place, and a lot to do. Its green, compared my previous assignments, Hood and Irwin There are actually quite a few 19K slots at Campbell now. Due to todays Army unit structure and MTOE it is not uncommon seeing 19 series assigned to a Light Division. Huh, in the 2 years with the 101st I never saw any armor. Where do they even keep those suckers? I was 1/58th, one of the 2 units at Campbell to wear a red beret (we were a detachment from Bragg). Our unit is located behind the Loach, right there where you make the right turn off of Range Road (I think it has a different name now) onto the road to the back 40. Glad you like Campbell, there is a lot to do, espcially with Nashville just a short drive away. And yeah, compared to central Texas and SoCal it's a verdant paradise. I did a few NTC rotations, which was quite an experience. In fact, the first time I saw the trailer for The Phantom Menace was in the chow hall at Irwin. LOL Anyway, amazing job on your ISD. Do you have a new project in mind? Edited June 17, 201311 yr by Chills
