Fred Fred Burger Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 "Yes, like Alexander we're here on a quest from Heroica to help the alter girl. Chromeknight Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Gali was hero from back home, one of greatest. She was one of wisest heroes we knew, and one of few that could safely heal. I just see some of her in you is all. You were being complimentary then. Thank you. And Sarick, it is nothing, I am here to look after the party's health. And you are welcome Master Dwinlas. Nerwen paused, there was a discord in the music of the world. Faint, distant, but unmistakable. On the wind floated a word, at the edge of hearing ...Arasmyth... A stifled gasp escaped Nerwen as if she had been punched. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 Guts moved over to where Sarick was standing, and asked the Naga: "Scaly, I've seen you have a shard of Myhtril, would you care parting with it, perhaps?" Quote

Sandy Posted September 20, 2012 Author Posted September 20, 2012 Not exactly, I and my heroes friends are here to meet with an altar girl called Fabula Sibylla. Can you direct me to here, please?? The priestess looks puzzled. "Fabula Sibylla is the name of our goddess. There is only one altar girl here, and she is called Sküld. Is it her you are seeking? "Yes, like Alexander we're here on a quest from Heroica to help the alter girl. Though if the oracle wanted to see us I don't think any of us would object. But please excuse us for being so rude, I'm Chris, and who might you be?" "Well met, Chris. My name is Liandra, and I am a priestess of Fabula Sibylla. You can find both Oracle Semiramis and the altar girl Sküld from the inner sanctum. Let me show you the way." Priestess Liandra took the party inside the shrine, and through an anteroom into the sanctum. There they met a tall woman with piercing eyes who wore an elaborate headpiece, a veil over her mouth and a brilliant red dress. Next to her was a young girl in a red cape whose hair was the exact same tan color as her skin. The girl was seemingly nervous, not daring to speak in front of her superiors. "Your holiness, I beg forgiveness for the interruption, but these people are here to see Sküld", Liandra said to the Oracle. "I am aware. The gods decided they needed a lesson in humanity, first." The Oracle then turned to the party. "Welcome to the House of Fabula Sibylla. You have been expected." There was something eery about the voice of Oracle Semiramis. It truly sounded like she was in speaking terms with the gods themselves. What will the party say next? Quote
Wedge09 Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 (edited) Alexander, a bit impressed by the important figure of the Oracle, says: I'm very happy to make your acquaintance, Oracle, I'm Alexander Vandangant, ranger for the Heroica. Skuld, are you who have asked help from the Heroica, right?? We are ready to help you to find your lost friend. However I have a question: Oracle, what do you intend saying "they need a lesson in humanity, first."??? Edited September 20, 2012 by Wedge09 Quote
Scubacarrot Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 "Oracle, eh? They say you speak to the Gods, or listen to the Gods, or something like that. While I am not so blasphemous to believe that sort of thing for the truth, what would you say the Gods say about me, oh Oracle?" Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 (edited) "I wonder... no. Impossible. She'd only insist she communes with Fabula Sibylla. Maybe the..." An puzzled Thothwick turned to Liandra, and asked her a question in a hushed tone. "Ms. Liandra, I believe you said there were two of these 'Oracle Semiramis'. Where is the other? OoC: I've just realised that Semiramis is the oracle's name, not title. Sorry. Edited September 20, 2012 by Professor Flitwick Quote
Tanma Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 IC: De'kra started to scratch his arms, not in a full Firenze but certainly at an odd rate. Aside from his discomfort he kept his gaze away from the oracle, trying to be utterly neutral despite being uncomfortable. Quote

Skuld, are you who have asked help from the Heroica, right?? We are ready to help you to find your lost friend. However I have a question: Oracle, what do you intend saying "they need a lesson in humanity, first."??? Sküld looks up at the Oracle, not daring to speak without her permission. "To be a human is to err, Alexander Vandangant. It is something you all need to understand, but you learned your lesson well. This city is sick, and sometimes the only path to healing is to cut open the sores so that the puss may drain out." "Oracle, eh? They say you speak to the Gods, or listen to the Gods, or something like that. While I am not so blasphemous to believe that sort of thing for the truth, what would you say the Gods say about me, oh Oracle?" The Oracle raises an eyebrow. Her dark eyes, lined with red, seem to see straight into one's soul. "Guts Holla, you thrive to do the right thing, but your mind is clouded by greed and pride. There will become a time when you will put someone else ahead of yourself, Guts, and that will bring you the most suffering you have ever known. But you can find the right path through that pain. Self-sacrifice leads to true awareness." Quote
Scubacarrot Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 "Right. I was hoping for something better, honestly, something to actually make me wonder how you could possibly know it only to find the obvious answer in time of crisis. Oracle, while our talk was delightful, we are here because of your altar girl, does she have your permission to tell us about her problem?" Quote

"Your work is done for the day, Sküld. You may depart with these heroes, if they have no further inquiries from me. Just remember my advice." "Yes, Your Holiness. This is just something I need to do." "Yes, it is." The altar girl turns to the heroes. "Are you ready to leave yet? I must go tell mother that I'm going to search for Shaun with you. I will explain everything on the way home. I'm so glad you all came." Is the party ready to depart the shrine with Sküld? Quote

Fred Fred Burger Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 (edited) Unsure of what, if any, rituals are supposed to be followed in this holy place Chris gives the oracle an awkward half-bow and says "Goodbye, and thank you for your time." He then paused, being equally unsure of how to address her, before finishing with a weak"Your Holiness." He was intrigued by the Oracle, and a bit disappointed that she had nothing to say to him, though he didn't feel it would be wise to bring it up. He then turned to the alter girl and with a friendly nod said "I'm ready to leave as soon as everyone else is." Edited September 21, 2012 by Fred Fred Burger Quote

Xarrzan Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Sarick looked down at his pouch. The shard was slightly sticking out. He pushed it back in to conceal it then turned to Guts and responded, "Another wasss interested in the shard as well. The price of 999 gold dissuaded him from finalizing the deal though. But I have no qualmsss with parting with the shard for that price." Sarick slithered closer to the entrance, ready to leave and continue the quest to find a lost friend. Quote
Sandy Posted September 21, 2012 Author Posted September 21, 2012 He then whispers something to her. What was the Oracle's advice to you? "Oh, I really shouldn't say. Her Holiness said it was... what was the word... spoilers?" He was intrigued by the Oracle, and a bit disappointed that she had nothing to say to him, though he didn't feel it would be wise to bring it up. The Oracle's eyes smiled at Sir Christopher. "You refused to fight the rioters, Christopher Daggerfall. Actions have consequences, but doing nothing has consequences as well. There will be a time when you must remember that, or you will perish." Last night I dreamed a dream. Of course, your mistress, being Goddess of dreams knows what it was a dream of. But I do not know what it meant. Now I am before you, I can simply ask, "Dreams are the mirrors of truth, Nerwen Calmcacil. But like mirrors, they can sometimes twist what is real and lead you astray. What you saw was a twisted vision from the forces of evil. When you get to the dark temple, you will find the black grimoire, but the powers it gave you in your dream come with a heavy price. Decide for yourself what is the cost you are willing to pay." Chromeknight Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Nerwen bowed her head in thanks to the oracle. She had spoken of the dark temple to no one else. Clearly she spoke for the dreamcatcher and Nerwen understood why others, particularly noticeably De'kra, were uncomfortable. Stepping back to make room for others, she saw others leaving already, their desire to get away from the numinous presence of Fabilia Sybilia clear. Quote
