Wedge09 Posted September 22, 2012 Posted September 22, 2012 After the discussion with the Oracle, Alexander is ready to depart with the other heroes. Quote
Chromeknight Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Nerwen leaves the oracle, joining the others outside and leaving Dreyrugr, Guts, Hybros and Namyrra, inside, still speaking with the oracle. Quote
Vash the Stampede Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Dreyrugr had fallen asleep from the oracles talking. Such things had never interested him. After waking up and seeing how most others had disappeared he left trying not to look too excited. Quote
Quarryman Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Still keeping silent and with a lot on her mind Namyrra leaves as well. Quote
Scubacarrot Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Guts shakes his head and leaves with the party as well. It's times like these he hated Eubric. Life in Strivvi had never been easy, far from it, but at least it made sense. Quote
Sandy Posted September 24, 2012 Author Posted September 24, 2012 The little altar girl motioned at the party to follow her. As she lead the large group of heroes along the narrow streets of the Hovels, Sküld chatted with her serious voice. "Me and my mother live this way, in the same house as the other nôrn refugees. It must be over a year ago when our tribe - well, what was left of it, anyway - came here to Eubric. It's been a hard-knock life for us, but we've managed by working together. We nôrn are all women, so you can imagine how it can sometimes be around the house... In fact, Shaun is my only friend who is also a boy. But he's not my boyfriend, no sirree! I'm only seven, so that would be gross. And Shaun is... well, weird. But he's the only one who wants to play with me, so I don't care how he is. Gosh, I miss him... You've got to help me find him, you've got to!" The girl turned and looked at the party with her big blue eyes. Does the party have any questions for her? Quote
-obelix- Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 (edited) Thalion was intriqued by some of the things the girl said. "Sküld, what do you mean when you say that your friend is "weird"?" Edited September 24, 2012 by -obelix- Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Whilst unaccustomed to dealing with children, Thothwick knew that some people in this world may take an unhealthy interest in Sküld. The use of the adjective 'weird' didn't fill Thothwick with confidence. Kneeling down, Thothwick lightened his tone to talk to Sküld. "How exactly is this Mr.Shaun 'weird'? Tell me, does your mummy know about him? What does mummy say about Shaun?" Quote
Wedge09 Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Alexander heard the words of Sküld and have a few question: Firstly, I've never heard of the nôrn refugees, a group of only woman, what are your history?? Secondly, have you any idea where your friend Shaun might have gone?? Each clue can be valuable, very valuable. And, lastly, what you mean by weird?? After that concluded by saying: Sorry for the questions, Sküld, but I love to know everything that could be useful for my work. Quote
Raven Brickroft Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 So what does this Shaun kid look like? Tall? Short? Horns? 4 arms 3 eyes? Quote
Myrddyn Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 "Maybe we should go to all the places he usually hangs out, see where he was seen last." Quote
Tanma Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 IC: De'kra heard the youth's words, relieved that it wasn't egg-related. Still, it seemed as though the bulk of the good questions were least asked. Finally he ventured, "How you and Shaun first meet?" Quote
JimBee Posted September 24, 2012 Posted September 24, 2012 Hybros watched as the other heroes asked the girl questions. He hadn't had much to say himself, and was still upset at the meeting with the Bonapartes. "Just hope this 'friend' is not demonspawn..." he muttered. Quote
Sandy Posted September 25, 2012 Author Posted September 25, 2012 Thalion was intriqued by some of the things the girl said. "Sküld, what do you mean when you say that your friend is "weird"?" "For starters, he lives in a cellar and eats spiders. He doesn't speak much, but he's really nice." "Tell me, does your mummy know about him? What does mummy say about Shaun?" Sküld blushes - or rather, goes a deeper shade of tan. "Well, mother has never met Shaun. She does not approve of me being around boys, but she can't keep me from my only friend." Alexander heard the words of Sküld and have a few question: Firstly, I've never heard of the nôrn refugees, a group of only woman, what are your history?? Secondly, have you any idea where your friend Shaun might have gone?? Each clue can be valuable, very valuable. And, lastly, what you mean by weird?? "I'm a little girl, not a history book! If you want to know more about us nôrns, ask my mother. Or Åsa, our tribe's leader. She's really smart. Me and Shaun used to play at the basement of the house he lives in. It's a really dark and twisty kind of place. Only me and him know about it. But he hasn't come out to play for days, so I'm really worried!" So what does this Shaun kid look like? Tall? Short? Horns? 4 arms 3 eyes? Sküld giggles. "You're silly! Shaun only has two arms and two eyes like everyone. He's just a boy, no taller than me. Other people might call him ugly, but I don't care." "Maybe we should go to all the places he usually hangs out, see where he was seen last." "I'm taking you to the house he lives in, but I have to go tell mother first. The basement is too dark and spidery for me to go there alone." "How you and Shaun first meet?" "One day, I followed Åsa - she's our leader - into a house with a picture of a dragon on top of its porch. She used to go there a lot. I sneaked into the cellar through an open window, and saw Shaun there, eating spiders. There's loads of spiders there, but they are afraid of Shaun. We've played there tons of times and told each other our deepest secrets." Quote
Vash the Stampede Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 "Does he eat spiders because he likes them or because he is hungry?" Quote
Myrddyn Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 "Well, I'm glad someone has some idea as to how to find him. Lead on!" Quote
Raven Brickroft Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 Sounds like he's not a freak or anything." He whispered to himself and then turned to speak to Skuld once more. Are you sure mom would approve? Won't it be better if we just sneak inside this place with the picture of a dragon on top of the porch? I won't tell if you won't. I don't know about all these other heroes though. Quote
JimBee Posted September 25, 2012 Posted September 25, 2012 "...Then I suppose we have to make our way to the basement, eheh..." Quote
Chromeknight Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 (edited) Nerwen follows along, listening to all the questions put to the strange tan-coloured girl. As she passes a trader's stall she absentmindedly picks up a new book, a new locked-room mystery murder, her secret indulgence. Flipping the vendor a copper she tucks it into her satchel. But not before noting it's title. Something about the old northern Gods and the end of the world. Northern gods... Nerwen's mind wandered, dipping back to the year she spent in the snowbound wastes north of Duplova. Nôrns... for some reason the word weavers jumped to mind. Sküld's dress certainly looked home made. Perhaps the fabric was also. Nerwen shook her head to clear it. Her glance settled on De'kra padding softly along off to the side. Destiny; Purpose; path; fate... It all seemed to swirl around, tangling around the events in this slum. The only way to untangle it was methodically, slowly. Starting at one end and keeping hold of that. Where there was one end there must be another. There could be no such thing as a piece of yarn with only one end... Vash the Stampede Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 OOC: Because of stuff in the real world I may have limited internet access for a couple of days, a week at worst. While I am gone can Quarryman control my character? Quote
Tanma Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 IC: De'kra winced at the mention of the eight-legged demons, before he commented, "He must be brave to eat those things, or maybe foolish. Now, you know when and why Asa stop go to that place? You know why Shaun was in cellar in first place? Quote
Xarrzan Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Sarick slithered along with the rest of the group, listening to their questions and the girls answers. He began to think, 'the girl...she was just small enough to fit passed my unhinged jaws...' Sarick shook his head and looked away. He realized that he was hungry and that he could not eat his employer. Sarick had never eaten spiders, but if he got hungry enough... Quote
