Tobias_Jay Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 (edited) You people are making me drool uncontrollably with these ideas! Garmadon's four-armed robot? Now THAT is an idea I want to happen! Edited December 23, 2012 by Wall E2624 Quote
bekindsorewind Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 I saw the Golden Dragon as TRU today for $32.99. Quote
Sirtank Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 I built the Fire mech, Warrior bike, and Earth Driller today. All really fun sets. The Warrior bike is my least favorite of the 3 sets, but the figures were still excellent. Can't wait to get more of the sets, but it's going to have to wait a couple of weeks while my bank account recovers a little. Quote

horizon Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Son got Garmatron & Kai's robot as early Christmas presents (with 3 more Ninjago sets (old & new) incoming....). Together with his big sister he got the Epic Dragon. On the latter: I said bad things about in the past... I have to chew them back in, although I see some minor issues the dragon is great. Pictures don't do it justice. / Garmatron is a must get for every Ninjago fan. Three great minifigures (very detailed printing an all of them). The farthest and most dangerous shooter ever (really). Very well build and design. Kai's fire robot is so cheap everyone should get it. Two great figs, Neat build, lots of playability. Quote
DraikNova Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 I feel lucky that I still have a couple of sorted 2x2 rounds and a trashcan somewhere to use on Garmatron. I think we're going over the top with this list. Then again, it's Ninjago, it's supposed to be over the top. Quote
Prominence Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 I'd like to get some new non-vehicle (that includes mechs) sets. Spinners with Kimono ninjas would be nice too. Quote
just2good Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 I got the Golden Dragon set! It was the last one at my Toys"R"Us. If you're one who doesn't like video reviews, mine will not change your thoughts! But, I did make a video review of the set. Quote

Prominence Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 (edited) Like the Dark Matter Mine? I'm sorry, I don't watch the show... I went to Intertoys today and got my Golden Dragon there and then cancelled my order on bol.com. I was going to take some pictures, but not only am I a terrible photographer, I also have a terrible camera. In conclusion, no review from me. I can still say I like the minifigs and some of the weapons (samurai sword, hammer, dragon sword). The Zamor Sphere works as expected and the stone scout catapult works okay too. I like all the gold and the printing on the dragon's head. The only complaint I have is the "sturdiness" of the dragon. I'm not sure what was wrong with the articulation of the previous dragons and why they felt like changing it. Edited December 23, 2012 by Prominence Quote
PenPlays Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 The Golden Dragon has the same problem as the Fire Dragon (Flame). Their bodies are so heavy that ball joints can't support their weight. So the alternative, click joints, which keep the legs standing under the weight of the Dragon. Quote
Tobias_Jay Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 (edited) Why? I think he wants to recreate the cannon that is on the front of the Garmatron's show variation. EDIT: The pictures show the Golden Dragon has a green energy ball, which caters for the missing one on the Epic Dragon. Just thought I'd point that out Edited December 24, 2012 by Wall E2624 Quote

They're just not the sort of thing LEGO's target age would be interested in unless they had watched the show. Quote
DraikNova Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 I wonder if one could make the side-cannons on the Garmatron using black and trans-neon green versions of the Alien Conquest ADU HQ´s blasters. Quote
Aanchir Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 (edited) If you have Black Phantom or some Piraka/Inika, you have quite a plethora. Well, the Piraka/Inika ones aren't quite the same color (they're two different two-color blends, whereas the newer ones are just transparent bright green), but any green Zamors from the 2010-2012 Hero Factory sets are the correct color. I imagine any other 2013 sets featured in the show so far would be from the second half of this past season, specifically vehicles and settings from the Island of Darkness (plus, of course, the Overlord in his dragon form and perhaps even the "tower form" of the Garmatron if it could be scaled down to an appropriate price point without losing its appeal). Other vehicles and settings would be cool, but not thematically or aesthetically consistent with the 2013 sets so far. Edited December 24, 2012 by Aanchir Quote

Second, I can see the Garmatron tower being only "three stories" tall if it will be released at all. Quote
Zachattacx Posted December 26, 2012 Author Posted December 26, 2012 Got The Golden Dragon today, and I must say it is by far the most awesome dragon out of all!SO MUCH GOLD! Quote
DraikNova Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 Having just built the Golden Dragon, I can say that, while there are some design faults (the wings are kind of flimsy and the `blades´ tend to slip over each other), overall it´s a pretty nice set. At the very least it´s a good parts pack for making your own version. The two Stone Army warriors are nice and good if you want to build up a more sizable army. Ninja´d by Zachattacx! Quote
Prominence Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 Guys, are all the gold pieces in the 2013 sets the same kind of gold? Quote
Meiko Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 Guys, are all the gold pieces in the 2013 sets the same kind of gold? The same gold as what? They are all Warm Gold, which is the type of gold that has been used in all themes for the past couple years, if that's what you ask. Quote
Peppermint_M Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 Ooo, bling bling me bruv's. I did a full search of my local stores and a little beyond. Nothing, zilch, nada... Very unimpressed considering all the LEGO section in one supermarket was virtually clear after a Christmas rush! So, I'm making a list, I'm checking it twice and in the new year, Peppermint is going to town! Quote
