Aanchir Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 That was hinted right at his introduction. True, though this might be the first piece of official media to say it outright. I agree the lack of an updated Lloyd bio (or even just a separate "Green Ninja" bio like the one for Samurai X) is disappointing, as is the lack of Stone Army bios. Unfortunately the lack of links to the Characters page anywhere on the site makes me think such updates would be of an extremely low priority. Hopefully when the theme comes back full-force in 2014 there will be more substantial updates to the content (not just the interface). Quote

I'll have to double check, but I think the DK Ninjago Character Encyclopedia pretty clearly laid out that gruesome element of Pythors backstory (it's the little touches like that that let you know the story is meant for small children). BlueberryWaffles Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Speaking of the DK dictionary, I just picked it up and why do they call the exclusive fig ZX? I thought it was the new elemental power thing from the 2013 sets. Quote
Tobias_Jay Posted May 24, 2013 Posted May 24, 2013 Because technically they are still the ZX suits, just upgraded. They were wearing the suits when they were hit with the light from the Temple of Light, the suits changed appearance and the elemental swords apparated on their hands. Or it may just be because they had no other name for it. Quote

Additionally, it seems like it might not be an entirely official description, since it's described as "Green Ninja ZX" and the Lloyd ZX minifigure is just called "Green Ninja". Perhaps they didn't know quite what to call it. The DK books are not always the most official in their terminology... I've seen some that create quite a bit of confusion by using color names that are neither official nor intuitive, like "sand" for Tan (officially, Brick Yellow, not to be confused with dark tan, which is officially Sand Yellow). PenPlays Posted May 26, 2013 Posted May 26, 2013 You know, if you are going to mention the set names, it would be kinda helpful if you'd copy/paste them... This isn't the correct thread, but just sayin' Quote
CM4Sci Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 I'm getting tired of YCF. I never liked them. -Sci Quote
PenPlays Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Here's how I put it: If a video reviewer has little presence in the fan sites, they aren't all that interesting to watch. I must say, the more I think on these set names, the more hopeful I get for these to be real. Quote
MakutaNocturn Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Why there is so big number of people reviewing Legos in BrickShow style? It gets really bored.BTW: Nowadays there are set numbers with 7 at the beginning and with 5 numbers so they could be true (like Chima). Quote
Faefrost Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 I find some of the youtube reviewers useful for simply seeing a full 360 of the sets and figs. But no small children shrieking at me please. Actually no large hairy adults shrieking at me either. Quote

Actually no large hairy adults shrieking at me either. Generally I can ignore the shrieking since I have a policy of watching video reviews without the sound whenever possible. But it is annoying to me when a person just looks at the camera and talks, or holds up a part or model and talks without using the time efficiently by turning it around and showing more detail. In many cases of course I can't blame the reviewer if they're just holding up a part/model and talking since for all I know they might be saying things that would be hard to show on camera, like describing the model's weight or texture. I like how Brickformula tends to give some really good looks at the sets without cluttering the frame with himself. He makes good use of some nice custom MOC turntables, a nice brick built studio background and a bit closer and at level camera view. Sadly he s not as prolific as some of the others. Quote

One of my favorite video reviewers is ArtifexCreations. He uses stop-motion to show the entire build of a set from beginning to end, and also does a great job showing off all the features of the set and its minifigures from all angles. He also demonstrates the playability of the sets, and makes tasteful use of post-production effects (his reviews of the Ninjago spinners are quite a sight to behold). Quote

Meiko Posted June 4, 2013 Posted June 4, 2013 2014 Ninjago Set Names. Possible December 2013 Release... The last one... "Destructiod"? All of the names aren't that creative, but Destructoid??? Not only is that one of the most generic robotic-sounding names I can think of, but I believe that was the name of a game module that could be added to a My LEGO Network profile page. Quote

Yes, and LEGO reuses names all the time (Hero Factory has an Alpha Team, Exo-Force was a drome racing team before it was a theme inspired by Japanese mecha, Slizer was used as the name of a Space Police III villain, etc). Plus, as for it sounding generic, that was also what people said about Garmatron. The LEGO Group loves generic robot names. Frankly I think these names sound fairly genuine, but of course we've had enough hints that a person could conceivably make up convincing new set names, so there are no guarantees. Quote

They sound like they could very well be Ninjago set names, yet they also sound like something that somebody could have thought up in 10 minutes and posted on a blog at the same time. Quote

MakutaNocturn Posted June 24, 2013 Posted June 24, 2013 I don't know maybe somebody have told about this but Golden City appeared in Lego Exo Force theme and there was also a line concerned on Final Battle. And the second thing. There was an episode with a title "Once bitten, twice shy". It's a title of the song. Some old rock fans in TLG? That song's title giving for a serial's episode title reminds me of Californication but it's for older.. kids Quote

MakutaNocturn Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 (edited) Oh crap. I didn't know this. Thanks. BTW: There was a sneak peak with Zane and a flash of the robot in his eye. What would you think if Lego started a way simillar to Exo Force? Edited June 25, 2013 by MakutaNocturn Quote
