mrts Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 I just got my first turban today. and i really like it. But whats with the small hole in the turban? Why is it there? I can Quote
Jipay Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 The hole is made to put a plume in it :-) Quote
oo7 Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Yes, Jipay is correct although this never made much sence to me either. The turban is the only hat with the plume hole in front and it looks really wierd nomatter what plume you put in there. Ya see, Quote
mrts Posted December 26, 2006 Author Posted December 26, 2006 ic ic, yes that dragon wing looks ok...a normal plume would be weird i think.. maybe the small and medium plumes would go... Quote
oo7 Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 Maybe....just maybe.... I never understood the Lego fishing-pole either. Why is so horrendously long? Quote
Brick Miner Posted December 26, 2006 Posted December 26, 2006 i always thought the hole was just to break up the monotony of color/texture on the rather large head piece. and the hole was made the size of a plume pin, just for SYSTEM sake :-D also, i know this is inaccurate, but the single hole reminds me of a female bindi mark from the same culture. im not sure what to make of that connection though :'-( or the hole could represent a jewel... - BrickMiner Quote
ghoulrealm Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 They probably contemplated making a more specialized plume and scracthed the idea at the last minute. I never understood the Lego fishing-pole either. Why is so horrendously long? They are long so they can be used as yard arms, esp. for lug sails... X-D Quote
oo7 Posted December 27, 2006 Posted December 27, 2006 Assuming that was a serious response, Lego does sometimes use them as yards now but that technique wasn't introduced until 11 years after the making of the piece. They probably had no plans for it other than "minifig utensil" in the first place so why did they make it so long in 1991? And in that case I'm sure they could have used some other alternative for the Ewok glider in 2002 and then that viking dragon in 2005. Quote

Maybe its a little too large, but i know fishingpoles can be very long, especially saltwater fishingpoles i believe...so i think it looks fine. Quote
DARKspawn Posted December 28, 2006 Posted December 28, 2006 I always thought it would look cool with a gem set in the turban - but I don't think it would fit ... Quote
