Well, for parts that are not in the "usual" collections (and i mean that loosely) you'll probably need: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=6215 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=30357 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=4022 OR http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=64424c01 This is the hardest part but ciuld easily do it in black for MUCH cheaper: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=2878c01 http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=4532 Besides the usual 1x bricks and 1x plates etc i guess you could build this for maybe around $75 maybe even less, i'm guessing (if you had to buy ALL the parts.) JopieK Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 B.t.w. I can help with most of the stickers, at quite a nice price. The round santa fe logo at the back is still a large problem (not in design, I made a vector for it, but our printer is not good enough I think). We hope to get a new printer in january but it is quite costly (you can buy a brand new Volkswagen from it I think). B.t.w. I didn't do the portholes yet though... Quote
FlyerNut Posted September 6, 2012 Posted September 6, 2012 Yeh, I bet if you hit the black trucks with grey spray paint (although some would say this is sacrilege) you'd save a few bucks. Either way, it's pretty sweet. Quote

Either way, it's pretty sweet. Actually if you just color the trucks black it doesn't look half bad... When I did my version I was able to build the A and B units for about $60 each (not counting the bley train wheels, deco sides for the motors, couplers and PF components)! Since I'm not working right now I might be able to find time to clean-up the files and produce instructions finally. Quote
Duq Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 Pity about the porthole windows but over all it looks the part. Quote
Selander Posted September 7, 2012 Posted September 7, 2012 A red windscreen 2x6x2 with TrBlack transparent glass would lower the cost, to make it even more affordable. Quote
