lightningtiger Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 The boat is AWESOME....easy to convert over to city usage ! Quote
mrlegoman Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Good pictures of the transport truck and forklift, the big cargo plane, stunt plane, heavy lift plane and coast guard boat here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/92090133@N04/8432388062/in/photostream/ Quote
Jargo Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 nice picture , I can see the new flight deck part . check out the lego friends new boat . wow !!!! http://www.noz.de/de...hr-aller-zeiten It has a water slide on the back? And speakers facing outwards. These Friends are noise pollutants. tsk. The new nose section on the heli is even better than I hoped. Too bad it hasn't got trans clear glass but I can live with trans pale blue. the ear defenders on the airport ground crew are just awesome though. I'm assuming they clip over the baseball cap. Quote
lightningtiger Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Again I'll say the US coast guard was used for inspiration......note on the crew member nearest to the helicopter landing pad on the bow of the ship is wearing black ear protection. Quote
Artifex Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Thanks for sharing the links and pics, guys! All the coast guard sets look really cool. I like them all. Although it may seem a little bit early to say so, so far I like everything about the coast guard sets: design, color scheme, minifig assortment, gear, boats... Everything. I think the boat with the helicopter is especially great! The cargo sets are another great addition. The more I look, the more I like them. Maybe a bigger cargo truck like the old one would have been better, but the new one seems very good too. The cargo plane is a beauty. Quote
jonwil Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 I am liking some of these more and more now. The coast guard helicopter is very good (much better than the last one) and I am liking the tilt-rotor design too. Not sold on any of the other sets (the airplane is interesting but there is not much you can do with it except make a cargo plane) but like anything I will need to see more pictures (and parts inventories) before making final decisions Quote
Mr. Elijah Timms Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 LOVE LOVE LOVE the big Coast Guard ship! Scale is much better than recent vessels and it's just packed with playability. I'm sure I'm biased b/c I wasn't into City during the last Coast Guard wave and missed those sets, but I think I'm sold on the sub-theme across the board. Well done, TLG!! Quote
BatonMedved Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 One should say the attention to detail and overall look have much improved. Quote
Combee Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 (edited) Looks like we have a new hat mold coming (or maybe the headphones are a separate piece): Link to the rest of the pictures: http://www.flickr.com/photos/61839591@N08/sets/72157632653581259/with/8431767947/ Edited January 31, 2013 by Combee Quote
proraptor Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Im going to be spending a lot of money this year Quote
DaveBey Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 (edited) Same here, for some weird reason I love forklifts (maybe because I see them daily in my work ), and the upcoming one in the Cargo Truck set looks very promising. The forklift in 60022 Cargo Terminal looks spectacular! It looks to be a heavier-duty forklift and perfect for transferring heavier cargo to a train. Cheers from Claremore, Oklahoma USA! SpiderSpaceman Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 I am also super stoked about all the new accessory love that city is getting the earmuffs, and also, if you search in pick a brick, tool wheel 11402 - Adds a 4 way lug wrench, a ratchet wrench, adjustable wrench, and updates the screwdriver, oilcan, and drill (which I hate by the way, because it's got the little battery pack under the handle, and that kills the usefulness.) Bellicose Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 (edited) Wow, am I alone in wanting to see more of the airport display? That's a pretty amazing terminal they built (same for the rocks and crashing surf for the coast guard sets!), and LOVE the LED airfield lighting... It's funny, having worked in aviation for some time now they've made a fairly accurate loading scene, LOVE the belt loader for the packages into the aircraft, and the ear pro for the ramp workers. Great point on the cop torsos. The new great vehicles fuel trucks from this current cycle will be perfect for airport scenes...more accurate for airports than the preceding trailer model. Different theme but that dragon from the Castle line looks great! Edited January 31, 2013 by Bellicose Quote

Well, that tool wheel is liisted but not available yet.....I wonder why ? Plus now I welcome the battery pack....makes more sense to be cordless eh ? Odd to see the forest subtheme cross-over into the cargo one and without a logging truck.....that does sound well planned out.....like you are not going to fly huge logs 50 to 100 km's are you ? Pick-A-Brick is in the process of being updated. There are dozens of new parts listed there that aren't yet marked as available. Hero Factory parts in particular seem to be seeing a lot of useful updates, but there are other scattered examples of great new PAB offerings. Quote
kermit Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 The new city sets are simply amazing . The coast guard helicopter is a pass for me but the cargo sets are wonderful. I like the small biplane and its colour scheme. I like how they designed the log transported plane especially the nose part. I do wish the cargo truck was a little bigger though like the previous one. Quote

True, but was meaning towards the point of future sets maybe the reason why it's not available yet......but we are not expecting anything that would required a tool wheel is there ? I doubt that the coast guard ship or the cargo jet would need tool wheels ? Quote
lostdriveway Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 I'm actually really impressed with the displays at the Toy Fair and its seriously making me consider how I plan my city / layout - mainly how I lay my base as I really like how they have integrated the non lego roads and airport strip with the lego - would certainly work out to be a cheaper option then buying a lot of baseplates! Jargo Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 The ear defenders attach like the friends hair accessories do. there'll be a tiny peg in the centre of the headband of the defenders that fits into a small hole on the top of the cap that keeps the defenders in place. I imagine the piece will be utilised elsewhere as headphones with hairpieces that have holes on top in the future. Quote
Faefrost Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 I love the Coast Guard sets, especially the ship. It's one of the best they have done. It looks a lot like the classic US Coast Guard markings and colors from the 70's and 80's. Quote
