Just finished building the Museum Break-In set yesterday. I didn't do a review-- sorry I'm not more ambitious!

Anyways, some thoughts I thought might be worth sharing:

-- The Police van can easily hold up to five 'elite policemen,' as TLG calls them: Driver in front, two in the middle, two in the rear. I suppose you could throw the crooks in the back of the van, but that's not typical procedure for a SWAT team, right?

-- Room for three in the thieves' van, one up front or two in back. Less if they're making off with the paintings, etc.

-- The copter is bigger than I thought, about as big as the 7741 Police Helicopter from a few years back, minus the nose of the fuselage. I wish this was fully enclosed, but it's an easy enough MOD. As for the light brick/spotlight feature, the light is really only concentrated from about 10 inches away before it starts to dissipate.

-- The museum's interior is in scale to about the size of my living room; I knew that going in, and actually think there's enough size for playability and storytelling. As a parent, I almost worry that it glamorizes the role of the burglar, breaking in from the window to make off with the loot. Certainly being the thief is the most fun out of this set.

-- Finally, fwiw I got an extra gold katana in the parts, which might prove useful to a non-Ninjago collector like myself.

Whoohoo,

LEGO is doing a reference to the 90's!

Look at the front lights of the Firecar. Isn't it nice?

Edit: Thanks Cronk Cornelius, I realized it myself, but wanted to change it when I am home - now. Thank you very much.

The "starter set" looks good, only thing I dont like is that the police logos on the bike, the police torso and the robber torso are not the same as the ones in other new-for-2013 police sets (which means they wont look good next to the other police sets).

The police markings bother me more than the robber torso. I don't necessarily see any reason why all the robbers should wear the same outfit. In fact, I wish they weren't all in their prison uniforms in the first place.

As to the police markings on the motorcycle, maybe LEGO City is like my hometown and only buys one or tow vehicles at a time, so the "fleet" never matches, being a hodgepodge of makes, models, color schemes and logos.

I know it's way too early to say something like this, but I hope one of the new themes for 2014 -- or late 2013 -- is the mail services.

I'm not sure if this is just my wish or if the design of this starter set -- or the simple idea behind it -- has somehow connected me to mail vans, airplanes, bikes, motorcycles and maybe even a small post office, but I believe a starter set with a mail van, a taxi (?) and -- why not -- a police officer and a robber in a motorcycle would be nice...

I am really looking forward to getting the cargo plane. There are so many support vehicles and they even contain those 'miniature' lego boxes like in 3221 Lego city truck. Additionally there is a lot of versatility and the main components look really good. This set is great, especially as I was about to pay several hundred for the earlier lego cargo plane. :sceptic: As for the other cargo sets, the heliplane looks great but the rest of the theme does not attract my eye.

As for the Coast Guard sets, I feel every single one of them is beautiful. Also looking forward to the City starter set as I don't yet have a propper minifigure scale ambulance.

I a super stoked for the summer run! The cargo sets are at the top along with the Indy Car Transport. I really hope TLG is doing an updated version of the Indy Car races from '96. Looking at the photos of the cargo plane, we see a green street sweeper... Any word on that being included in a set or on it's own? I checked BL, and the brush housing isn't available in green, so it made me wonder. The coast guard ship is also very nice, I love the reversed color scheme. I also, finally got to see the monster truck set and I am thrilled about it... I don't like how narrow it is, but more importantly the bulkiness of it's under carriage. It doesn't look like it will do well running over a car. I'll probably get one, for the semi, but will stick with my trucks :classic:

I feel the reason behind the police uniform in the starter set is that it's the standard police one, not the elite police with Chase McCain and Lego City Undercover video game.

Also the starter set I see one problem.....you need more than one ambulance officer to pick up the kid who's fallen off his skateboard right ?

Ah, wait the fire fighter or cycle cop can help.....I guess it's Lego's way of teaching kids team work and help others out. :classic:

Hi everyone. I may wrong, but one of the coast guard line set was missing or something...

Why already 2 exibitions in a row LEGO's ain't put 60015 Coast Guard Plane with the other coast guard sets?..

ps/ i'm sorry for my terrible english,,, :cry_sad:

As an avid CMF collector, I find myself pretty annoyed that LEGO have decided to place the CMF Santa in the Advent Calendar, thus making its role in the CMF series entirely redundant. Not a good choice TLG :hmpf_bad: .

Yea, I'm pretty ticked, too. I was amazed at how long they've been making exclusive torsos, but most importantly, exclusive face printings to the series.

Using parts from the CMF series is good business sense on Lego's part.....for if you got them, use them and save money !

That advent is a mixed bag.....toys, fire, police and a space-suited-fairy....hmm, well okay.

Haha, I think the Astronaut is putting the star on top of the tree, rather than being a fairy.

But you're right, a mixed bag, one that doesn't really excite me at all. Police (again), Fire (again). Would love a civilian style calendar like ones from previous years. Or at least another cool little modular building like the Police station in the calendar from 2011.

Well, would you rather that they had kept using the traditional Pirate Santa? Once they made CMF Santa, I don't think there was any way they could have continued with Pirate in good conscience.

I really can't figure out the theme of this year's calendar, though. 2010 was a "family Christmas" with a build-a-train. 2011 was "cops and robbers" with a build-a-station. 2012 was firemen with the, er, "build-a-wall." (After 2011 gave us a whole building, I was pretty disappointed, even if this one is made of brick-bricks.) 2013 is...what...a grab bag?

Space subtheme... confirmed for 2014?

Hmmm, good point. I've always taken the Calendar as a hint of what's to come. 2011 had the police calendar; 2012 was police-heavy (with some fire). 2012 was a fire calendar, 2013 is fire-heavy (with a lot of police). So 2013 is...more space?

Also, I had to take another look at the Spaceman. I don't take him to be a "fairy" as some people said--I think he's just supposed to be topping the tree. (Remember, this year's calendar also came with a want which was intended as the tree-topper for the previous day.) Spaceman flies, so it's a cooler way to top the tree than a set of stairs.

What the heck is that vehicle, though? A car for that Octan driver? (I think I see some wheels in the background between the spaceman and fireman, so maybe it's a split-day vehicle like the fire buggy from this year.)
