DraikNova Posted October 18, 2013 Posted October 18, 2013 So, I've got a question: Is the Crater Creeper worth getting? It seems kind of lackluster compared to the other sets. Quote

The_Creator Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 (edited) Eh, if you can, just get the Green Squad polybag, as the Squad minifigure is the best part of the set. Considering the last time I checked, the polybag was going for $8-$10 I think you could might as-well buy the set. LOL. Edited October 21, 2013 by The_Creator Quote
Artanis I Posted October 21, 2013 Posted October 21, 2013 Well I bought it twice. But then, I'm a fleet/army builder. (Not on the scale of some of course!) So now that I've bought & built probably all that I'm going to (unless more sets come next year, but it's very possible that none will) and finally got some shots done, here is my response to a post from I-don't-remember-who (months ago) showing their collection, well here's my collection: If you can't count, there's 2x 30230, 1x 70700, 2x 70701, 2x 70702, 1x 70703, 2x 70704, 1x 70705, 2x 70706, 2x 70707, 1x 70708 & 1x 70709. I haven't found / probably won't find the other polybag. Quote
DraikNova Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 Well, I got the sets today. All the sets, with the Mini Mech polybag (and one non-GS set) for free. The Green Squad/Insectoid polybag was nowhere to be found, sadly. Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted October 22, 2013 Posted October 22, 2013 I wonder if Lego is ever going to continue Galaxy Squad. :-| Quote
DraikNova Posted October 23, 2013 Posted October 23, 2013 Nope, it's almost definitely not going to happen. We would at least have gotten a list of set names by now. Quote

Nope, it's almost definitely not going to happen. We would at least have gotten a list of set names by now. It could be a late summer release. Remember most of the sets for 2014 known so far are winter releases. Quote

It's very impressive and it looks real nice when you have sorted them into their respective groups. Quote
Artanis I Posted October 25, 2013 Posted October 25, 2013 I think Galaxy Squad is a credit to the designers. The 4 colour schemes work perfectly together, and the bugs have a nice new colour scheme that fits what they're about. The model designs look great too. I have no self control when it comes to space, I always build a fleet. If I ever get a home that has enough room to get out all my sets I'll neatly display all the fleets. My 3 favourites are probably Space Police 1 & 2 and Blacktron 1. Although the model designs are much better now, those are still my favourites. Alien Conquest was good, but not as space-y, there were too many land vehicles and not enough blue ships. SP3 wasn't bad at times but the colours weren't original. Colour scheme plays a big part for me. Quote
danth Posted November 1, 2013 Posted November 1, 2013 (edited) I think they should continue the galaxy squad line, but replace the fruity colors with black. Also replace the clear windscreens with trans blue. And replace the bugs with bad guys in black and yellow space ships...and give everyone air tanks. Edited November 1, 2013 by danth Quote
Only Sinner Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 Well, then it wouldn't be Galaxy Squad anymore. Quote
Ardelon Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 No, but it would be Blacktron vs. Space Police... Quote
danth Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 No, but it would be Blacktron vs. Space Police... Yay someone got my stupid joke! Actually I was thinking Futuron vs. Blacktron. Quote
Ardelon Posted November 2, 2013 Posted November 2, 2013 (edited) Hmm, I did wonder about the trans-color being more like Futuron than SP, but didn't Futuron use blue as a secondary color instead of black? edit: just checked, my mistake, it's black... Edited November 2, 2013 by Ardelon Quote
Artanis I Posted November 3, 2013 Posted November 3, 2013 Yeah white with black accents and trans blue was used in late Classic, then Futuron, Exploriens and Space Police 3. I think SP3 used it as a tribute to vintage space, because it was very unoriginal to reuse that scheme again. I got the joke, don't worry! Quote
The_Creator Posted November 6, 2013 Posted November 6, 2013 Amazon in the US currently has 70707 discounted for 33% off MSRP. Pretty good price I'd say… http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00CMHWTRG/ref=redir_mdp_mobile?camp=217145&creative=399373&creativeASIN=B00CMHWTRG&linkCode=as2&redirect=true&ref_=as_li_ss_tl&tag=bargainwatchusa-20 Quote
parksroad Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Nice! thanks for the heads up. Anybody see the comic in the last Lego Magazine? Kind of looks like they're wrapping up the GS storyline. Quote
Meiko Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Still haven't gotten the latest magazine... If it doesn't come in soon I'll run up to the LEGO store and pick on of them up that they have free of charge there. I hope the ending to the GS storyline isn't abrupt. I hope they end it well... Quote
danth Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Man, the Galaxy Squad set designs were so good. I really like the smaller red and green scooters/speeders, but I don't really want the huge alien ships they come with. I'm just not a fan of the alien craft. Or the god damn stickers. Just a few printed pieces to me would be better than all those damn stickers as far as I'm concerned. And I would like some air tanks while we're at it. Another thing I miss are the colored canopies. Those were part of what really made Space distinct. As long as they aren't some stupid color like orange (Mars Mission). Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 I am suspecting that maybe they might have more plans for galaxy squad because at the end of the comic, a mosquitoid is shown. Also at the end of the lego club adventures of Max, there is some bugs hatching while everyone is celebrating. Maybe they will do galaxy squad 2 in 2014 or 2015. Quote
parksroad Posted November 9, 2013 Posted November 9, 2013 Yeah, there's not really much of a story, mainly pictures of sets with lots of minifigs in action poses. It was this sort of teasing "The End --- or IS IT?!!" that lets them re-open it if they want to, but didn't really promise much or suggest a new direction... Quote
