i don't mind colorful troopers, just as long as they come in various shades of darker hues.

i would like them to be the updated versions of the classic spacemen. so i'm talking about colors like dark blue, dark red, dark yellow/tan, black, white.

i also like updated versions since classic space didn't have green, so a dark green spaceman would be great! so would dark purple and dark pink (a space lady of course).

Yeah, I hope for exactly the same. Some updated, modern astronauts with classic space logo on their chest would be great. I would'nt mind even an orange or lime version. I liked the style of CMF Space girl very much. I think this new line sounds very good. Could be a fun line. And I'm okay with it if we don't see any space marines. I got 10 of the CMF versions. Building some nice ships and ground vehicles for it would'nt be a problem. I don't need an offical Lego line for that.

Those weren't characters (troopers...space marines...) fighting off 'evil' creatures on some distant planet...

More like astronauts who had the magical ability to survive in space without a visor on their helmets.

I don't need a rainbow space marine corps hanging around.

Slight color differences (or uniform adjustments on some) to represent ranks would be fine, but please, no jellybean warriors again...

Well that's kind of the beauty of it. If they release 5 different colored space men or space marines, you just Bricklink gobs of the color you want and build an army around it. You can do a red army vs blue army or whatever.

That's great and all, but not everybody cares about army building. I'd rather have a consistent color scheme and build up a fleet of military space vehicles.

Well, the multicolor bit sounds like a mix of Classic Space/Futuron and Ninjago... Normally I'd pass, but the insectoid aliens really sound intriguing, and the different colors of the Galaxy Squad ships could be useful for different factions in my Post-apocalyptic scenario.... I.e. the lime green and orange would be useful for the Hordes of Chaos, as craft for followers of Nurgle and Tzeench, while the White would go good with the general neo-Futuron look of the Federal Republic of America's space fighter wing, and blue would go with the Airborne Demolitions Unit (ADU) mercenary commando division.

...Of course, I'd like to see some pics before making any final judgements, but this theme definitely has my interest.

I would be disappointed to see orange and lime being the main colourscheme of this. After Power Miners, that would seem redundant. The whole idea about one colour for each set sounds seriously compelling, and I guess it would make sense as a marketing strategy, reinforcing the collectability of the theme.

Someone suggested that maybe the figs are placeholders and will contain the Space Marine armor when finished... Well, I could be wrong but wouldn't there be a clash in design between the ADU helmet and space marine armor? The ADU helmet has that descending chin grip that rests down in front of the fig's torso. Conversely the marine armor requires a flush finish on the headpiece... So the two just won't work together, right?

I think the talk of orange and lime was originally (at least on my part) excitement about having Classic Space-style figures in those colors since we've already had white, blue, red, yellow and black - the discussion then turned towards assuming the over-all color scheme would be orange and lime, but going back to the original description, that's probably the color scheme for two different spaceships out of the entire lineup - a primarily lime one with a lime-colored pilot and a primarily orange one with an orange-colored pilot.

I personally think the ADU helmet and the Space Marine helmet are pretty similar, and that the ADU helmet fits the Space Marine armour just as snugly, if not more, as its counterpart.

You're right - I just tried putting an ADU helmet on one of my Galaxy Patrol figs, and it doesn't fit all the way down on the head stud.

Oh. Don't the ADU troopers wear the same helmet mould as the S1 Spaceman?

Not at all. It's a distinctly different helmet. The Space Marine helmet is rounder, and sits totally flat on the bottom once it's on the fig's head, but the ADU helmet protrudes down onto the top of the torso when it's on snug. The backs are very different aesthetically as well.

He was asking about the Alien Conquest ADU helmets and the Series 1 Spaceman helmet, which are the same piece. I don't have any ADU helmets in front of me at the moment, but I'm a bit confused because I do have a Space Marine in front of me right now and his helmet does protrude a bit beneath the neck of the minifigure-- not much, and perhaps not as much as the ADU helmet, but enough that if you had a minifigure head sitting on a stud with a tiled surface in front (like this one) the chin strap of the Space Marine helmet would collide with the tiled portion before the helmet was fully attached to the head stud. With that in mind I don't find it hard to believe that the ADU helmet could attach reasonably well on the Space Marine body armor, even if it's not 100% pressed down on the head stud.
